RHP Jason Woodward (5.75 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 in 20.1 IP) has ramped up to about 60 pitches/outing.

The Warbirds are 2nd in the 12-team Carolina League in runs per game (5.4) despite being last in batting average (.216). Last night’s grand slam walk-off hero RF Jose Anderson leads the league in homers (12).

    Holy moly: Alexander Frias just walked off the ACL Royals with a solo shot to give ACL Brewers a 5-4 victory! Every time I looked at GameDay, it felt like we had an 18-year old battling a 21-year old. Great win!

    17-year old Ruben Revost looked like he may be the low man on the DSL position player totem pole, with only a pinch running appearance (and stolen base) thru 3 games, then his first start yesterday batting 9th and playing left field (0-for-2). Well, first time up today: 3-run homer. DSL Brewers Gold lead Cubs Blue 4-2 in the 3rd inning.

    Yeah, Ethan Dorchies throwing 95 pitches with zero earned runs was not on my bingo card. Big outing for him. Sad the bullpen couldn’t hold it. Terrific comeback by Wilson from down 6-2. Jose Anderson particularly enjoyed his 12th homer, a walk-off grand slam in the 11th inning.

    Grateful for the win. Hope Fitzpatrick’s injury is not a long one. Curious whether Koenig is ready or if we’ll have to bridge the gap with a righty (McGee, C-Rod, Knehr, Waguespack) until he is.

    With Biloxi down to 25 active players, inclusive of a bullpen catcher, it may already be time to promote Braylon Owens from Wisconsin. I didn’t think I’d be saying that about a 2025 tenth round draft pick who signed for $10,000, but his 60 K / 19 BB fits the profile we like and the .228 average against is quite solid considering the .324 BABIP.

The Midwest League’s home run leader (16 in 47 games) sits atop High-A Wisconsin’s lineup for the first time in 2026, as they aim to clinch a series win at Cedar Rapids. 19-year old RHP Ethan Dorchies (7.30 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, 8.3 K/9 in 37 IP) really needs to turn his 2026 campaign around.

    Serious shootout between ACL Rangers and ACL Brewers. A combined 24 runs, 27 hits, 4 errors and 8 caught stealing thus far. Tied 12-12 heading to the 9th inning. SS CJ Hughes is 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs, but exited after the 7th inning.

    That’s a terrific season debut for 17-year old LHP Santiago Martinez of DSL Brewers Gold: 5 shutout innings, 7 Ks, 1 single, 1 walk. Unfortunately, Gold came up short again, despite allowing no earned runs and just the 1 hit. That’s a 1-0 defeat and Manager Natanael Mejia’s squad drops to 0-4.
