18. Given that we may not be selecting many in-house contracts before the Rule 5 Draft this year (e.g. Korry Howell, max 1-2 others), we’ll likely have a few 40-man roster slots to fill. I’d expect trades for other teams’ fringe up-and-comers like we did for Mark Mathias and JP Feyereisen, so this AA/A+ outfield pool will be natural to trade from. Guys like Tristen Lutz or Carlos Rodriguez could be used to fetch slightly better-rated players. Other players (e.g. LG Castillo, Je’Von Ward, Jesus Lujano) could be swapped for AAAA-type players who’ve been DFA’d (like the Paxton Schultz trade for Derek Fisher).
19. - RHP Victor Castaneda was moved up from High-A Wisconsin to AAA Nashville to make today’s start - RHP Dylan File was placed on AAA Nashville’s 7-day injured list
20. Biloxi concludes their season with a home game, striving to end the year with a second consecutive series win: 1 - Hamilton - SS 2 - Cantrelle - 2B 3 - Longo - CF 4 - Dillard - 1B 5 - Palma - DH 6 - Spanberger - LF 7 - Lutz - RF 8 - Diaz - C 9 - Devanney - 3B X - J. Castillo - P
21. It’s Noah Campbell Day and the Mudcats season finale. He’s starting at catcher and the team intends to play him at every position TODAY:
22. Victor Castaneda moves up two levels to AAA Nashville, which tries to win its 4th consecutive game:
23. The Timber Rattlers have won 5 of 6 games and aim to end the season on a high note. Likely Brewer MILB position player of the year Joey Wiemer’s (.965 OPS in 467 PAs across 2 levels) hitting leadoff and playing center field: 1 - Wiemer - CF 2 - Rodriguez - LF 3 - Warren - C 4 - Gray - RF 5 - McGee - 1B 6 - Zamora - SS 7 - L. Castillo - DH 8 - McClanahan - 3B 9 - Pinero - 2B X - Shook - P
24. After winning Game One of today’s doubleheader, the Shuckers make five position player changes for Game Two tonight: 1 - Holt - 2B 2 - Howell - CF 3 - Dillard - 1B 4 - Palma - DH 5 - Lutz - RF 6 - Lujano - LF 7 - G. Garcia - 3B 8 - Diaz - C 9 - Devanney - SS X - Bullock - P
25. The Shuckers play a doubleheader today, which is hopefully the perfect elixir for their 3-game skid. Mitch Longo was a terrific late signing for the squad, easily leading the team with an .867 OPS: 1 - Hamilton - SS 2 - Howell - 3B 3 - Longo - CF 4 - Dillard - DH 5 - Palma - LF 6 - Lutz - RF 7 - Spanberger - 1B 8 - Rios - C 9 - Cantrelle - 2B X - Zavolas - P
