  1. Dylan O'Rae drew a full count walked and stole second base in the top of the first inning, but was stranded. Bishop Letson allowed 2 singles and a walk in the bottom half of the inning, but Braylon Payne bailed him out:
  2. The AAA Nashville Sounds are home for their final series of the 2026 campaign, hosting Cardinals’ affiliate Memphis. RHP Coleman Crow was solid through 5.2 innings last week, but then dinged for 5 runs before the next out. SS Eduardo Garcia has homered in 2 of his last 4 games.
  3. Let’s celebrate RHP Bishop Letson’s 22nd birthday with a playoff win in Game One of AA Biloxi’s best-of-3 Southern League semifinal series at Marlins’ affiliate Pensacola. Letson’s in great form of late (16 IP, 4 R, 23 Ks in last 4 starts). 1B Andrew Fischer registered a 1.066 OPS in the regular season, leading the minor leagues with 48 homers in 560 PAs. He also tallied 114 RBIs.
  4. I didn't have Matt Wood (25-year old catcher -> the oldest position player on the Scottsdale roster by nearly 2 years), Miqueas Mercedes (20-year old starting pitcher) or Ryan Birchard (played in the AFL in 2024) pegged for the 2026 AFL, but wish them success. It seems they've cut down position players to 3 per MLB team this year. Also, every team contributed 5 pitchers except the Brewers (4), so perhaps we'll add one more (Meccage???). No real surprise with Braylon Payne, Eric Bitonti, Jose Meneses or Joshua Quezada.
  5. Image courtesy of BrewerFanatic Manuel Rodriguez tossed five shutout innings and Jesus Made drove in Biloxi’s first run in their nail-biting win. Brandon Sproat and Cameron Wagoner looked good in the Nashville ‘pen, but the offense was stifled. For the week, Biloxi was able to earn a 3-3 draw in its series, while Nashville (2-4) fell short. Transactions: N/A Game Action: Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Durham (Rays) 7, Nashville 2 Box Score Via the Sounds’ website, game details and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Drop Series Finale Against Durham - Jeferson Quero recorded his 68th RBI of the season for Nashville Old friend Jared Oliva stole the show, delivering a leadoff infield single to end starting LHP Thomas Pannone’s perfect streak, smacking a two-run homer to push Durham’s lead to 4-0 in the second inning, then reaching via bunt single in the 4th inning to trigger a two-out, three-run barrage. By contrast, the Sounds produced just two hits, though they did put the leadoff man on base in five of the nine innings. Each of OF Brandon Lockridge (1-for-3, double, walk, RBI) and OF Jacob Hurtubise (0-for-2, walk, HBP) reached base twice to attempt to spark the offense. OF Tyler Black doubled to continue his hot streak (.946 OPS in last 91 plate appearances) by doubling and scoring in the sixth inning, as Nashville cut the deficit to 7-2, but a 349-foot fly out by C Andrick Nava stranded the bases loaded. Sounds’ Extras: Another bright spot was RHP Brandon Sproat (2 1/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 1 K), who bounced back from his rough Wednesday relief effort, retiring the first five batters he faced and touching a peak velocity of 99.3mph. LHP Jared Koenig (2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 Ks) and RHP Cameron Wagoner (1 IP, 0 R, 3 Ks) joined Sproat in the hitless, scoreless relief effort, with Wagoner reaching 98.7mph on the radar gun. Next week’s outlook: Nashville (78-65) return home for their final series of the 2026 campaign, hosting Cardinals’ affiliate Memphis (79-65) for six contests starting from Tuesday evening. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 2, Pensacola (Marlins) 1 Box Score Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Rodriguez Wins Franchise-Record 13th Game in Shuckers Regular Season Finale - Biloxi Concludes 2026 Campaign and Collects More Records After missing three contests, 19-year-old SS Jesús Made (1-for-3, RBI, SB) returned from his “prolonged breather”, delivering a sacrifice fly to open the scoring in Biloxi’s tight victory to close out their 2026 regular season. Although he was pitching on four days’ rest, 21-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (5 IP, 0 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 5 Ks) delivered his best start since mid-July, limiting the formidable Pensacola offense to just four singles as he earned his 13th win of the 2026 season. Batting in the nine hole, C Darrien Miller (2-for-3, walk) contributed offensively and defensively, throwing out an attempted basestealer in the first inning and reaching base three times himself. Singling to open the 5th inning and scoring on OF Braylon Payne’s sac fly was the key insurance run the Shuckers needed to ultimately hold on. Biloxi’s 0-for-9 production with runners in scoring position put extra pressure on their bullpen, but RHP Garrett Hodges (1 IP, 0 R, 0 Ks) was ultimately able to close out the win. Hodges was in quite the jam in the bottom of the 9th, as the first two hitters reached base via hit-by-pitch and bunt single. However, he caught the next bunt attempt for the first out before inducing a fly out and pop out to earn the save. Shuckers’ Extras: Kudos to RHP Peyton Niksch (3 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 Ks) for solid middle relief work, particularly by working out of a bases loaded, one-out jam in the 6th inning (pop out, ground out). OF Josh Adamczewski (2-for-4, double) joined Miller in the multi-hit club, while leadoff 2B Dylan O’Rae singled and stole his 63rd base of his terrific 2026 season. 7. LHP Thomas Pannone tossed a perfect game at Durham on Monday and gets the call again as AAA Nashville look for a win to split this week’s series 3-3. LF Tyler Black has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games.
  8. Thinking some spots could go to Bitonti, Dickinson, Pena (if healthy). Maybe Rylan Mills
  9. LHP Colton Gordon is on a respectable run (16 IP, 6 R, 15 Ks over last 3 games) and leads AAA Nashville as they seek a 3-2 series lead at Durham. DH Blake Burke (homered last 2 games) and RF Akil Baddoo (1.012 OPS over last 59 PAs) make quite the 2-3 punch.
  10. AA Biloxi trail their final regular season series of 2026 three games to one at Pensacola and hand the ball to 21-year old RHP Josh Knoth (3 IP, 0 R, 2 Ks last outing) to start tonight. 2B Daniel Dickinson has a 7-game hitting streak.
  11. - RHP Argenis Aparicio released by ACL Brewers
  12. Dylan O’Rae walked, stole his 60th base of 2026 and scored in the first inning. Now he’s singled home a run in the second frame.
  13. Nashville’s first hit of the game comes in the 4th inning in the form of Blake Burke’s game-tying solo blast. He also homered in yesterday’s game.
  14. 22-year old LHP JD Thompson has also been quite solid recently (2.91 ERA with 47 Ks in last 34 IP) and looks to lead AA Biloxi to a series-tying victory at Pensacola. 2B Dylan O’Rae (.765 OPS with 59 stolen bases) makes his first start in 13 days.
  15. LHP Tate Kuehner has been on a respectable run (14.2 IP, 8 R (6 ER), 15 Ks in last 4 outings) for AAA Nashville, who can grab a 3-1 series lead at Durham tonight. OF Akil Baddoo has a .982 OPS in his last 55 PAs.
  16. Craig Yoho’s last 11 MLB outings: 12.2 IP, 2 R, 11 H, 2 BB, 0 HBP, 18 Ks. And his team (Guardians) may overtake the White Sox to win the division. Hopefully we get to see MLB Playoffs Yoho.

For the 24-year old Rodriguez (3 1/3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 4 Ks), this was his best game in several months, as he did not allow any hits until his 12th batter, by which point the Sounds led 2-0 thanks to 2B Ethan Murray’s two-run blast: Richardson (2 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks) was even more effective, retiring all eight batters he faced on just 28 pitches (21 strikes), during which time C Ramon Rodriguez doubled home a run and OF Akil Baddoo (2-for-4) doubled and scored on a wild pitch for a 4-1 advantage. 1B Blake Burke (2-for-5) added the game’s final run as he connected on his 33rd homer of 2026. Sounds’ Extras: On the offensive side, eight Sounds reached base via hit (9), walk (2) or hit-by-pitch (1), although the team went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. OF Tyler Black (2-for-4) joined Burke and Baddoo in the multi-hit game club. Rodriguez helped out Garabito (2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 2 Ks) by throwing out the Bulls’ only attempted basestealer to end the 7th inning. Garabito then helped himself out by getting a strikeout and ground out to strand two baserunners the following inning, while leading 4-1. Wagoner (1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K) touched as high as 97.6 MPH as he navigated the final three outs as the Sounds grabbed a 2-1 series lead. Unfortunately, the team was out-hit 9-5 and were limited to just two opportunities with runners in scoring position (0-for-2). Pensacola cashed in on an early opportunity by pushing across two runs on back-to-back two-out hits in the second inning, while the Shuckers were unable to do the same half an inning later, stranding a pair while trailing 2-0. C Matt Wood did his best to keep the team in the contest, while #9 hitting SS Jheremy Vargas (2-for-3, double) joined Fischer as the only Biloxi batter to reach base twice. 19. 2026 has been a struggle for RHP Carlos Rodriguez (8.16 ERA in 46.1 AAA IP), though he can lead Nashville to a 2-1 series advantage at Durham tonight. 3B Brock Wilken leads the team in HR (16), RBIs (77), doubles (23) and walks (77).
  20. RHP Jaron DeBerry (4.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 in 124 IP) gets the start, as AA Biloxi strive to take a 2-1 series lead at Pensacola. 2B Daniel Dickinson has a 1.037 OPS over his last 305 PAs.

From there, the game got out of hand against the Sounds’ bullpen and shoddy defense (two more errors) before the team even collected its next hit: a Burke (2-for-4) double while trailing 10-2 in the 8th inning. Seven Nashville hitters registered at least one hit, led by Burke and DH Jeferson Quero (2-for-4, 2 doubles, RBI). 3B Brock Wilken (1-for-4, RBI) also drove in a run, as he works to get his batting average above the Mendoza Line (.197 AVG, .705 OPS). Sounds’ Extras: Rehabbing LHP Rob Zastryzny’s first outing since July 11 was a mixed bag (2/3 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K): hard hit single, called strikeout, ground ball out, hard hit double the other way. LHP Jared Koenig was effective (1 IP, 0 R, 1 K), though his velocity once again was only limited to the final batter he faced (94.7mph sinker, after not touching 92mph on the prior three batters). Thursday’s outlook: Although a starter is yet to be named, RHPs Tyson Hardin, Carlos Rodriguez and Lyon Richardson are possible options, as Nashville seek to grab a 2-1 series lead at Durham. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 9, Pensacola (Marlins) 2 Box Score Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Made Makes History, Letson Locks Down Blue Wahoos in Shuckers Victory - Biloxi Bounces Back to Beat Pensacola 21-year-old starting RHP Bishop Letson (6 1/3 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 9 Ks) turned in his third consecutive solid start, only allowing one hit (and zero runs) over his final 5 2/3 innings pitched. The big question both teams are probably asking is whether Letson will be as dominant next week when these same two teams square off in the Southern League playoffs. On the offensive side, OF Braylon Payne went 1-for-5 with 3 Ks, but was still a key catalyst, reaching base on a strikeout-wild pitch and scoring in the first inning, then breaking a 1-1 deadlock with his 26th dinger of 2026, a solo shot with two outs in the top of the fifth frame. DH Mike Boeve (1-for-2, HR, 2 walks, 3 RBIs) reached base three times, delivering the big two-out, three-run homer to give Letson and the Shuckers breathing room in the sixth inning. Things tightened up against RHP Travis Smith (1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 0 Ks) in the bottom of the 8th inning, but he induced an inning-ending force out with the score 5-2 and the potential game-tying batter at the plate. OF Josh Adamczewski (1-for-2, double, 3 walks, RBI) extended his hitting streak to 12 games with an RBI double in a four-run ninth inning, while 3B Eric Bitonti (1-for-3, walk, 2 RBIs) also had a run-scoring hit in that outburst. Of course, 19-year-old SS Jesus Made (2-for-5, triple, RBI) continues to deservedly grab headlines for his impressive 2026 campaign. Shuckers’ Extras: Minor League home run leader 1B Andrew Fischer has not hit one out over his last three games, but he’s reached base seven times in that span (2-for-10, 5 walks, 3 Ks). INF/OF Dylan O’Rae has not started a game since August 29, but he’s now up to 59 stolen bases this season after pinch running and stealing a base in the eighth inning. His only plate appearances since his last start came as an injury substitute on September 5. Hopefully he’ll be back at the plate contributing hits soon. More video highlights are available at Biloxi’s ‘X’ feed. Thursday’s outlook: 24-year old RHP Jaron DeBerry (4.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 in 124 IP) gets the start, as Biloxi also aim to take a 2-1 road series lead. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Thursday, Nashville (5:45pm CST) and Biloxi (6:05pm CST) are right back in action.
