Image courtesy of Biloxi Shuckers The United States of America is 249 years old! Happy Independence Day and holiday weekend to all readers. Transactions: RHP Coleman Crow activated from AAA Nashville’s 7-day injured list RHP Craig Yoho optioned to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers INF Luis Pena appears to have avoided the worst from his Wednesday hit-by-pitch, so hopefully we’ll see him return to Carolina’s lineup relatively soon. Game Action: Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Memphis 7, Nashville 6 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Lead Slips From Sounds on Thursday Night 26 months after RHP Coleman Crow’s injury with the AA Rocket City Trash Pandas put his career on pause, and 19 days since his last appearance of 2025 (due to a brief injured list stint), Crow finally made his AAA debut – a highly impressive one though limited to 56 pitches over 4 shutout innings: Ernesto Martinez Jr. has been struggling to regain his early season form, but lifted a 3-0 pitch into right field here for an early 1-0 lead: 3B Bobby Dalbec (2-for-4, RBI; .923 OPS with the Sounds) continues to make his case for a return to the Show, pushing Nashville’s lead to 3-0 here in the 3rd inning by plating OF Jared Oliva (0-for-1, 3 walks, SB): Nashville had control of this game, leading 6-1 in front of 11,415 home fans after 5 innings, but three Redbirds’ homers in the 6th and 7th fully turned the tide, the last a 2-out grand slam off RHP Vinny Nittoli (1 2/3 IP, 1 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K) to score three runners inherited from LHP Bryan Hudson (1 1/3, 4 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks). Sounds’ Extras: Nashville was out-hit 10-6 (all singles for the Sounds) and only produced two walks over the final 3 innings. OF Tyler Black (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) and DH Andrew Vaughn (1-for-3) each reached base with a single and walk. RHP Jesus Liranzo conceded 2 runs in 1 IP before handing over to Hudson, but LHP Tyler Jay delivered a 3-up, 3-down 9th inning. Friday’s outlook: Nashville and Memphis will drive 3 hours west, where Memphis will host 3 games over this holiday weekend. RHP Tobias Myers (1.57 ERA with 16 Ks over last 17 IP) is scheduled to start tonight, with Nashville trailing this week’s series 2 games to 1. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Pensacola 2, Biloxi 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Shuckers Earn Series Win Behind Hardin's Five Shutout Innings Biloxi out-hit Pensacola 7-5, had more extra-base hits (2-0) and stranded more baserunners (8 vs. 5), but struggled to get the clutch hit this time around. 22-year old RHP Brett Wichrowski had his second straight solid start, delivering 90 pitches and unfairly taking the Loss despite allowing only one earned run (5 2/3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 5 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks). @Terry analyzed Wichrowski's performance in the Minor League Forum, noting "Control is a lot better lately, and he is better than average in terms of generating whiffs (Whiff%/Swstr%). But the strikeouts are low because he struggles to put hitters away." 3B Zavier Warren added a 10th homer to his season that already has 10 stolen bases, giving Biloxi a 2nd inning lead: He also had an interesting catch later in the contest: A very rare fielding error (just his 2nd of 2025) from OF Luis Lara on a single to center field helped the Blue Wahoos put the potential game-winning run in scoring position with nobody out in the bottom of the 6th inning, scoring on a single for a 2-1 deficit 2 batters later. Strikeouts were Biloxi’s real undoing in this defeat, as they K’d 15 times versus just 5 for Pensacola. Shuckers’ Extras: Well done to the bullpen of RHP Abdiel Mendoza and LHP Mark Manfredi to give the offense a chance to get back into it. They retired all 7 batters they faced, each striking out one. The Shuckers best opportunity to tack on more runs came via 1-out singles from C Darrien Miller (1-for-2, 2 walks) and Garrett Spain after Warren’s 2nd inning homer, but both were stranded (K, ground out). SS Cooper Pratt’s 3rd inning triple also went for naught. The only late opportunity came via 1B Mike Boeve (single – 2-for-4) and Warren (error) reaching base with 2 outs in the 8th inning, but Miller wasn’t able to bring ‘em home (K swinging) Friday’s outlook: The Shuckers and Blue Wahoos travel west back to Biloxi for three games, with LHP Tate Kuehner (2.64 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 10.2 K/9 in 71 2/3 IP) set for the 4th of July start. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Beloit 12, Wisconsin 5 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: Rattlers Go Out of Control in Loss at Beloit Down to 13 active pitchers on the roster, this was not the outing that Wisconsin needed, as starting RHP Ryan Birchard struggled over 1 2/3 IP, RHP Jack Seppings walked in 2 inherited runners and RHP Miles Langhorne retired none of the 5 hitters he faced. RHP Bayden Root was the team’s biggest bright spot, retiring 9 of 10 batters faced (0 BB, 2 Ks), during which Wisconsin cut the gap from 7-0 to 7-3. Root was also credited with an extra out and stranding 2 inherited runners, thanks to Beloit’s failed double steal to end the 4th inning. Four walks and 2 hit-by-pitches (no hits) produced the 3 Wisconsin runs in the 6th inning, but they stranded the bases loaded down 7-3. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: Per the linked game report, Langhorne was visited by three coaches after his uncharacteristic 8th inning struggles. We hope he’s healthy and back getting big outs soon. Until then, might we see RHP Nick Merkel shift his rehab from the Arizona Complex League to Wisconsin? OF Kay-Lan Nicasia reached base 3 times (2 walks, 1 HBP, SB), while each of 1B Blake Burke (double, single, RBI), 3B Jadher Areinamo (single, walk, RBI) and OF Luiyin Alastre (single, HBP, RBI) came aboard twice. Alastre also came to the mound to get the final 3 outs of the 8th inning, including a K swinging. This was C Victor Torres’ 2nd game of the 2025 season. Principally the Biloxi bullpen coacher this year, Marco Dinges’ hamstring injury has forced Torres into action. Friday’s outlook: Wisconsin and Beloit head up to Grand Chute for 3 games hosted by the Timber Rattlers, with RHP Jaron DeBerry (3.49 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 10.2 K/9 in 38 2/3 IP in Low-A and High-A) scheduled to start tonight. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 3, Fayetteville 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Pitching Lifts Mudcats Past Fayetteville Pushed to season highs of 81 pitches and 6 innings, starting RHP Travis Smith worked around a game-opening walk and faced just 18 batters over the first 5 frames. 3B Filippo Di Turi’s 2-out RBI single gave Carolina a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning, through a throwing error and balk allowed the Woodpeckers to tie the contest in the top of the 6th inning. OF Jose Anderson doubled and scored on OF Tyler Rodriguez’s sac fly in the bottom of the 6th inning to ultimately give Smith (6 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 4 H, 3 BB, 5 Ks) his first professional Win. Four walks and a SS Jesus Made infield single produced just one run in the Mudcats’ 7th inning, but that gave some breathing for bullpen of RHPs Bryan Rivera (2 IP, 3 Ks) and LHP Anfernny Reyes. Rivera and Reyes both allowed a double and walk in the 8th and 9th innings, but escaped via a ground out and K swinging, respectively. Mudcats’ Extras: Every Carolina batter reached base via hit, walk or HBP to keep the pressure on Fayetteville. DH Reece Walling (0-for-2, 2 walks) returned to action for the first time since exiting early on June 24. He now has 26 hits and an astounding 50 walks on the season. 1B Eric Bitonti went 0-for-3, but walked and stole 2 bases to give him 14 SBs in 2025. Friday’s outlook: Carolina and Fayetteville head one hour south, where Fayetteville will host 3 more games in this week’s series. 18-year old RHP Ethan Dorchies (1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 11.5 K/9 in 36 2/3 IP in the ACL and Low-A) is set for tonight’s start, with Carolina aiming for a 3-1 series lead. Final: DSL Brewers Blue 10, DSL CLE Mendoza 2 Box Score and Game Log Borrowing a few notes from @Jim Goulart in the Brewer Fanatic Minor League Forum: Blue romped 10-2 behind five perfect innings for 17-year-old Colombian RHP Carlos Galindo (1 K) in his start. Another 17-year-old, second baseman Leonard Rijo, was a home run shy of a cycle (3-for-4, HBP, 2 RBIs). OF Frandy Lafond had a similar line with a 3-for-4 day, double, HBP and 2 RBIs, while 1B Jefer Lista went 2-for-3 with 2 walks and an RBI. Lafond also added an outfield assist. The Blue squad’s 4-run 6th inning, which started via 2 walks and 2 HBPs essentially put the game out of reach, highlighted by 3B Joan Gutierrez’s 2-run single (2-for-4 day for him). 18-year old RHP Lukas Gonzalez conceded 2 runs over 3 innings (season ERA 3.72), but did produce 4 strikeouts. The Blue Men improved to 11-11 on the season and the teams will square off again at 10:00am on Friday. Final: DSL Rojos 6, DSL Brewers Gold 3 Box Score and Game Log C Isais Chavez doubled and scored to give the Golden Men a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning, but that was the team’s only hit through 5 1/3 innings. 18-year old RHP Jose Arias got the start and produced a respectable line over 4 frames: 2 R, 3 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 5 Ks. OF Alexander Frias (2-for-4, SB) singled home 1B Jonathan Rangel (1-for-3, walk, RBI, SB) to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning and put the potential game-tying runners on 2nd and 3rd base with 1 out. Alas, 2 swinging strikeouts followed and they were amongst 10 stranded baserunners (vs. 6 LOB for Los Rojos). DH Kenny Fenelon (1-for-5) doubled and scored on Rangel’s single to get within 4-3 with 2 outs in the 7th inning, but Rangel’s pinch runner was left at 2nd base and 2 more were stranded in the bottom of the 8th. 19-year old RHP Carlos Canales (3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 1 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 4 Ks) retired 6 straight batters in relief, but also allowed a 9th inning RBI triple. The teams combined on 10 hits and 6 errors, while the Gold team falling to a record of 9-13. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Independence Day, 8 Brewers Minor League games are scheduled, commencing with a doubleheader for DSL Brewers Gold against DSL CLE Goryl at 9:00am CST. The ACL Brewers play at the ACL White Sox at 12:00pm CST, while the full season affiliates have late starts. The Milwaukee Brewers play at the Marlins at 6:10pm CST. Although INF Luis Pena is out after yesterday’s painful HBP, DH Reece Walling (.154 AVG, .347 OBP with 48 walks) returns to the lineup for the first time in 9 days. -

Despite only pitching 52 innings in the last 26 months due to injury and recovery, 24-year old RHP Coleman Crow (2.51 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 10.9 K/9 in 43 AA IP) is ready for his AAA debut, as Nashville aims to take a 2-1 home series lead over Memphis (with 3 road games starting tomorrow). RHP Sam McWilliams released by AAA Nashville -
Missing some of their previous horses (Miz, Seigler, Cameron, Rosario. CF-Rod), AAA Nashville have dropped 4 straight, but get a jolt with rehabbing LHP Nestor Cortes (last pitched April 3) on the hill. They need a win to even their home series against Memphis 1-1. 2B Ray Delgado needs to shake his slump (4-for-last-39 with 0 XBHs).

DSL Brewers Gold played a 7-inning contest at DSL Rojos, coming back from a 4-0 deficit thru 3 innings, scoring 6 unanswered to lead 6-4 after 5.5 innings, conceding a 2-run homer for a 6-6 contest, then pulling it out with 2 runs in the 7th to win 8-6. C Isais Chavez delivered the big 2-out, 7th inning 2-run double to re-take the lead, after an untimely caught stealing (3rd base) and strikeout had them in jeopardy of coming up empty. Earlier, 1B Matthew Moses and 3B Juan Martinez connected on their first career homers as part of the 6-run rally. CF Kenny Fenelon reached base 3 times (double, single, walk), while leadoff DH Alexander Frias (single, walk, 2 SBs) and RHP Derlin Garcia (3-up, 3-down - 2 Ks) made their professional debuts. RHP Gabriel Colmenarez had gotten the start (4 IP, 4 R (2 ER), 4 H, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 1 WP, 6 Ks), while RHP Fabian Reyes retired the final 6 batters (after starting with a walk and game-tying 2-run homer) to earn the Win (2 Ks). -

DSL Brewers Blue hosted a 7-inning game against Red Sox Red. The Blue Crew were out-hit 8-1 thru 6.5 innings, but remained tied 1-1 (SS Leonard Rijo reached on an error, stole 2 bases, scored on a grounder), even with 3 doubles for their opponent against starting RHP Lonell Downs (3 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks) DH Angel Gonzalez tripled to opposite field to open the final half-frame and scored the game-winning run on Rijo’s opposite field single. 2-1 victory! RHPs Johan Zapata and Jhosep Ospino combined on 4 scoreless innings of relief (4 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 Ks). -
Image courtesy of Biloxi Shuckers For the week, Biloxi and Carolina both won their series 4 games to 2, while Nashville and Wisconsin dropped theirs by the same 4-2 margin. Transactions: RHP Brandon Woodruff sent on rehab assignment to AAA Nashville RHP Fausto Barreras activated by DSL Brewers Blue from restricted list Though not official yet, it appears that INF/C Anthony Seigler (.881 OPS in 267 PAs with 20 SBs) is also getting his first-ever call to the Show, which is quite impressive after the 26-year old has only spent 3 career months in AAA ball: Game Action: Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Jacksonville 6, Nashville 5 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Fall in Finale in Jacksonville All eyes were on starting RHP Brandon Woodruff (3 2/3 IP, 4 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 1 K – 82 pitches), as he made his first rehab start since June 3, thankfully flashing a velocity level (peak 95.4mph in the 4th inning) which was lacking in late May / early June: Of course, similar to the activation decision on Aaron Civale about 7 weeks ago (effected too soon, in my opinion, stretching the MLB bullpen), it’s fair to ask whether Woodruff would benefit from another Minor League tune-up or two. He struck out one of 19 batters, with Jacksonville hitters fouling off 20 pitches, exiting down 4-2. On the 3rd pitch of the game, OF Blake Perkins notched his first extra-base hit in his 10th rehab outing, part of a highly productive evening for him (2-for-3, HR, RBI, 2 SBs): With a 6-2 lead after a quick 2 runs against RHP Garrett Stallings (2 IP, 2 R, 1 K) in the 6th inning, the Jumbo Shrimp apparently felt comfortable to leave Adam Mazur in for 91 pitches (despite throwing 75 pitches on Tuesday), so DH Andrew Vaughn made them pay with a 3-run homer on his final pitch: Per the linked game report, OF Bobby Dalbec came through with three doubles, including one immediately following Vaughn’s blast, but a line drive double play ended that 7th inning with runners on 1st and 3rd. Sounds’ Extras: Nashville outhit its opponent 11-to-9 and out-stole them 4-to-2, but a 2-for-14 evening with runners in scoring position stifled their comeback attempt. The team stranded runners at 2nd and 3rd in the 8th inning and Dalbec unfortunately hit into a ground ball double play in the 9th inning. Well done to LHP Tyler Jay and RHP Craig Yoho for combining on 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Yoho allowed hard hit balls (fly out, double) to his first two batters faced, before registering a strikeout and weak grounder. Next week’s outlook: The Sounds (46-33) return home to host Cardinals’ affiliate Memphis (43-36), with RHP Logan Henderson (2.29 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 11.3 K/9 in 74 2/3 AAA/MLB IP) most likely to start the series opener on Tuesday. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 4, Columbus 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Shuckers Earn Series Win Behind Hardin's Five Shutout Innings Starting RHP Tyson Hardin was undaunted throwing on 4 days’ rest (6 IP, 73 pitches on Tuesday), matching his counterpart with 4 shutout innings before OF Bladimir Restituyo opened the scoring on the 9th pitch of his 5th inning at-bat with his 3rd homer of 2025: An Ethan Murray (2-for-4, walk) single, favorable pitching change, 3 walks and a Zavier Warren infield single followed for a 3-0 advantage, which was plenty of support for Hardin (5 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks): Biloxi stranded 2 baserunners in the top of the 8th inning and nearly immediately regretted it, as LHP Brian Fitzpatrick conceded an infield single, walk and another single to load the bases with 1 out and dangerous OF Ethan Workinger (12 homers) at the plate. To his immense credit, Fitzpatrick dug in to strike out Workinger and his teammate swinging on 7 pitches total. Shuckers’ Extras: Every Shucker position player reached base via hit or walk in a solid team effort, with Warren delivering 2 RBIs and each of OF Luis Lara, DH Cooper Pratt and 1B Mike Boeve reaching base twice. In the bullpen, RHP Ryan Middendorf (1 BB, 1 K) and LHP Mark Manfredi (0 BB, 1 K) each covered a scoreless, hitless inning, while RHP Bo Bowman allowed a solo homer in 9th inning (0 BB, 0 Ks). The teams combined to go 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position, stranding 18 baserunners. Next week’s outlook: Biloxi (46-29) heads 1-hour, 45 minutes east to visit Marlins’ affiliate Pensacola (38-36) for 6 games, with RHP KC Hunt (4.68 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 59 2/3 IP) most likely to start on Tuesday. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Quad Cities 5, Wisconsin 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: River Bandits Outlast Wisconsin 5-4 This was one of the most painful losses of the years, literally, although we’re still fortunate to have video highlights from the terrific Wisconsin media team: We’ve also got the 15-minute Mehring-Lobner postgame podcast, featuring Manager Victor Estevez. To be fair, Quad Cities was in reasonable control of the game, grabbing a 3-0 lead on 2 homers in the first three innings against starting LHP Anthony Flores (2 2/3 IP, 3 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 4 Ks – in 63 pitches), briefly interrupted by 1B Blake Burke’s 2-out, 2-run blast in the bottom of the 3rd inning. After 2 runs from 3 singles off RHP Miles Langhorne (2 1/3 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K) in the top of the 5th inning, the teams combined to send only 19 hitters to the plate over the next 6 half-innings, setting the stage for what appeared to be Wisconsin’s last best comeback chance in the bottom of the 8th inning, down 5-2 with SS Jadher Areinamo, C Marco Dinges, Burke and OF Eduardo Garcia due up. As you’ve seen and heard, that formidable quartet did their part to nearly tie the game via a catcher’s interference, walk and 2 doubles, only to be undone in unfair fashion by Dinges’ injury (and out) rounding 3rd base. 2B Juan Baez then struck out on 3 pitches and OF Kay-Lan Nicasia lined out to center field to strand potential game-tying runner Garcia at 2nd base. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: Big credit to RHPs Jack Seppings (0 BB, 2 Ks) and Bayden Root (0 BB, 1 K) on 2 scoreless innings each to give the Wisconsin offense a chance to pull out the win. Burke’s 3-for-3 day with a walk and 3 RBIs lifted his season average to .310 and OPS to .849, as he sets his sights firmly on a potential promotion to AA Biloxi. Unless David Garcia (injured since April 23) or Yannic Walther (exited Carolina’s game early in Thursday) is available, don’t be surprised if Victor Torres is re-assigned from AA Biloxi to fill in while Dinges makes a full recovery. Next week’s outlook: The Timber Rattlers (36-38) will drive 2 hours, 15 minutes south to battle Marlin’s affiliate Beloit (35-40), with intriguing 19-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez (1.67 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 8.7 K/9 in 27 IP) scheduled to start on Tuesday. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 4, Delmarva 2 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Mudcats Claim Series from Delmarva Talented 19-year old RHP Bryce Meccage set aside a difficult few weeks (8.27 ERA in previous 20 2/3 IP) to deliver 3 scoreless innings (1 H, 1 BB, 2 Ks) in his second start of the week (69 pitches on Tuesday; understandably limited to 44 pitches in this game). After the team failed to cash in with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 1st inning, 1B Eric Bitonti (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBIs, SB) ensured no room for doubt on his 0-1, 2-out, 3-run blast in the top of the 2nd inning: After stranding SS Luis Pena and Bitonti in the top of the 7th inning despite their inning-opening walk and infield single, Delmarva cut the deficit to 3-2 with a 2-out double and RBI single in the bottom of the 7th inning off of RHP Bryan Rivera (3 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks), who induced a fly out to keep the lead. RHP Garrett Hodges had completed a 2-inning save earlier in the week and was called upon to do so again here, retiring 6 straight batters (4 Ks) without difficulty to clinch the series. Mudcats’ Extras: Every Carolina position player reached base via hit, walk or hit-by-pitch, including 2 HBPs for OF Tyler Rodriguez (.196 season AVG, .385 season OBP with 13 HBPs in 208 PAs). The team was undoubtedly happy to have C Eric Martinez available (assigned from High-A Wisconsin) after Walther’s Thursday exit forced Edgardo Ordonez to catch 4 consecutive games. Martinez went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch (stop injuring our catchers!) and threw out 1-of-4 basestealers. In his full season affiliate debut, 23-year old RHP Nick DeCarlo allowed a single and walk in the 4th inning, before getting Ks swinging and looking to deliver a scoreless frame. While Jesus Made had a rest day, he got to watch Pena tie him for the team’s stolen base lead (33) and Bitonti become the first Mudcats’ player this year to join the 10-10 club (12 homers, 10 stolen bases). Next week’s outlook: The Mudcats (43-30) return to Zebulon to host Astros’ affiliate Fayetteville (40-35), with LHP Wande Torres the most likely starter for Tuesday’s series opener (6.07 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 43 IP). We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Monday, the Rookie squads are the only teams in action, commencing with DSL Brewers Blue (9-10) hosting DSL Red Sox Red and DSL Brewers Gold (8-11) playing at DSL Rojos at 10:00am CST. The ACL Brewers (22-20) host the ACL Royals at 8:00pm CST, while the Milwaukee Brewers are idle.
