  1. 30-year old RHP James Meeker lands in the Atlantic League as well:
  2. 25-year old RHP Cam Robinson has joined York of the Atlantic League.
  3. More praise for Jacob Misiorowski's change-up, as he evolves from a 2-pitch wonder to a 4-pitch master:
  4. Jacob Misiorowski threw shutout ball, but Nashville lost it in the 9th. John Holobetz and Luiyin Alastre led Carolina to the sole Sunday victory. Biloxi and Wisconsin weren’t able to keep their games close. For the week, Biloxi (4-2) was the sole series winner, though Nashville (3-3) and Wisconsin (3-3) managed to split their respective series. Carolina ended up on the short end (2-4) despite winning the final two games. Transactions: 1B Johan Barrios released by ACL Brewers Antony Gomez released by ACL Brewers Game Action: Final: Durham 4, Nashville 1 Box Score and Game Log A sterling start from 23-year old RHP Jacob Misiorowski (5 IP, 0 R, 3 singles, 0 BB, 9 Ks) and solid relief efforts was the story of this game until things fell apart with 2 outs in the top of the 9th inning. Starting on four days’ rest, Misiorowski was highly efficient (67 pitches, 48 strikes), touching 99.9mph on the radar gun early and facing only one 3-ball count, even while trying to work in a few curve balls and changeups. Not to detract from all the plaudits (well, I guess I am), but the Bulls did hit four >100mph balls off of Le Mis, including a 107.3mph single and 107.5mph ground ball double play in the 4th inning. Jacob exited with a 1-0 lead after 1B Wes Clarke (3-for-4) doubled and scored on a 2-out single from 2B Freddy Zamora (1-for-3, walk) in the 2nd inning. Brewers’ 40-man roster relievers RHP Elvis Peguero and LHP Bryan Hudson were no slouches either, retiring all 6 batters they faced, 2 via strikeout. The Nashville staff totalled 14 Ks in the game. In fact, through 8 2/3 innings, only 6 Durham Bulls had reached base (4 singles, 1 BB, 1 HBP) before RHP Sam McWilliams allowed a walk and back-to-back doubles to the disappointment of 8,544 home fans. Sounds’ Extras: Apart from Clarke and Zamora, the only other Sounds to reach base via hit or walk were SS Andruw Monasterio (a single) and OF Jimmy Herron (also a single). Next week’s outlook: Nashville will take a 4-hour road trip southeast to take on Braves’ affiliate Gwinnett for six games, commencing on Tuesday. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Montgomery 6, Biloxi 3 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Shuckers Fall to Biscuits in Series Finale The biggest positive here likely came before the game, as SS Cooper Pratt’s x-ray on his finger (he’d exited early on Saturday) came back negative: As to the game, LHP Tate Kuehner (3 1/3 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 4 BB, 4 Ks) was also making his second start of the week, working through heavy traffic before handing over to RHP Bo Bowman trailing 2-0 with 2-on, 1-out in the 4th inning. Bowman did well to strand those two baserunners, but then went BB-BB-triple-homer to the first 4 batters of the 5th inning as the Biscuits opened up a sizeable 6-0 advantage. The Shuckers only managed 4 hits on the afternoon, but three of those are captured in their Twitter feed as they went for extra bases to cut the deficit to 6-3 by the 8th inning, the last a OF Garrett Spain 1-out RBI triple. Unfortunately, a final Montgomery pitching change shut the door from there (5-up, 5-down last 5 Shuckers). Shuckers’ Extras: Per the linked game report, RHPs Stiven Cruz and Nick Merkel combined on 4 scoreless relief innings, while Justin Yeager added a 5th for good measure. Together, they retired 15 of 16 batters faced (striking out 4), allowing only a single. The 23-year old Cruz has apparently reverted to his 2022 form (a good thing), disavowing walks, as he now has 11 strikeouts and zero walks in 10 2/3 innings in 2025. SS Ethan Murray and OF Bladimir Restituyo hit 8th and 9th in the order, but combined to reach base 4 times, including their back-to-back dingers highlighted in the Twitter feed. Meanwhile, the 2 through 7 batters combined on an 0-for-20 day. Next week’s outlook: The Shuckers face a 4.5-hour drive northeast to battle Braves’ affiliate Columbus, with their series also starting on Tuesday. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Cedar Rapids 8 Wisconsin 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: Culpepper Leads Kernels Past Wisconsin Despite the scary final score, 19-year old starting RHP Manuel Rodriguez continued to shine (4 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 Ks), exiting after 4 innings with the game tied 1-1. However, throwing on 4 days’ rest, he was limited to 54 pitches (38 strikes). From there, things obviously got concerning, starting with 21-year old RHP Dikember Sanchez’s 5th difficult relief appearance in 6 tries. After allowing 3 runs and 3 walks in this game, he’s now sporting a 4 K / 13 BB ratio through 5 2/3 innings of 2025 work. The pain continued (literally) with INF/OF Eduardo Garcia exiting after an 8th inning hit-by-pitch on his leg. Let’s hope this was largely a precautionary move with the club trailing 5-1 at that point. Garcia had just returned to action after departing Friday’s game early. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: While DH/1B Blake Burke collected a double and single to lift his season average to .275 (OPS .772), the rest of the lineup went 2-for-28 with 2 single, 2 walks and the painful HBP. C Eric Martinez (0-for-4, 3 Ks; 0-for-3 attempting to catch base stealers) made his first start at any level since July 2024 with the ACL Brewers, giving you an idea of the team’s position player depth at present. Aside from Rodriguez, RHP Bayden Root had the other satisfactory pitching line: 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K. Next week’s outlook: Wisconsin returns home to taken on Tigers’ affiliate West Michigan, with RHP Ryan Birchard (3.55 ERA, 14 Ks in 12 2/3 IP) scheduled to start the opening game on Tuesday. Final: Carolina 5, Columbia 2 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Mudcats Beat Columbia In Series Finale 22-year old starting RHP John Holobetz and 19-year old INF/OF Luiyin Alastre continue to stand out as early season pleasant surprises, teaming up to carry the Mudcats to a comfortable Sunday victory. A 2024 fifth round pick, Holobetz (season ERA 2.89, with 26 Ks and 3 walks in 18 2/3 IP) allowed only 2 singles and a hit-by-pitch over 5 1/3 innings. One could even debate whether the one run allowed should be considered “earned”, as it was aided by a catcher interference (officially an error on C Marco Dinges). Every Mudcat reached base via hit or walk, with 2B Filippo Di Turi (1-for-4, walk, RBI) collecting the team’s first knock before Alastre (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) bashed his first home run of 2025 for a 2-0 second inning advantage. Loading the bases with nobody out in the 3rd inning (a Jesus Made single and 2 walks) led to more good things, with runs scoring via wild pitch, sacrifice fly and ground out for a 5-0 lead. Mudcats’ Extras: Credit RHPs Miles Langhorne, Jesus Flores and LHP Anfernny Reyes with 2 2/3 scoreless relief innings, including Langhorne stranding a baserunner inherited from Holobetz. RHP Garrett Hodges’ 9th inning didn’t go as smoothly as he might have liked (K, double, RBI single), but a lineout double play to Di Turi sent the team back to Zebulon, North Carolina on a happy note. Next week’s outlook: These impressive ballers return home to face Cubs’ affiliate Myrtle Beach for a 6-game set commencing on Tuesday. We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. We’d all better face our work on Monday, as even the Milwaukee Brewers (at White Sox from Tuesday at 6:40pm CST) have the day off. Carolina kicks off Tuesday action with a 5:00pm CST start time. 6. Through 3 innings, 8 Mudcats already have a hit (5), walk (2) or sac fly (1). Utility revelation Luiyin Alastre (3rd base today) has the biggest offensive contribution, while John Holobetz has 5 Ks thru 3 frames. It’s 5-0 Mudcats.
  7. Our final game of the week sees 22-year old RHP John Holobetz (3.38 ERA, 21 Ks in 13.1 IP) of Low-A Carolina (14-6) get a crack at stifling 13-7 Columbia. What encore will 17-year old SS Jesus Made (.858 OPS in 65 PAs) have after his grand slam yesterday?
  8. Through 8.2 innings, Nashville had only allowed 6 baserunners (4 singles, 1 BB, 1 HBP), but also led just 1-0. With one runner aboard, Sam McWilliams then allowed a walk and back-to-back hard hit doubles, so we’re now down 3-1… And Vinny Nittoli conceded another double, so it’s 4-1. But Jacob Misiorowski, Elvis Peguero and Bryan Hudson all dominated, while Easton McGee worked around a walk and HBP. And Wes Clarke is heating up with a double and 2 singles. Delgado, Herron, Zamora and maybe a pinch hitter for Kahle (e.g. Seigler) are due up in the bottom of the 9th.
  9. Bo Bowman helped Tate Kuehner out of a 4th inning jam (trailing 2-0, stranded 2), but went BB-BB-3B-HR to start the 5th inning. Ethan Murray and Bladimir Restituyo subsequently homered for Biloxi, but they trail 6-3 late. Also, Stiven Cruz refuses to issue walks (11 Ks, 0 BB in 10.2 IP). Is he returning to his 2022 form? Good to see. Warren, Adams and Miller are due up in the bottom of the 9th.
  10. Manuel Rodriguez did his part for Wisconsin (4 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks) and exited with the game tied 1-1, but Dikember Sanchez had his 5th bad outing in 6 tries: 3 runs, 2 hits, 3 walks. Sanchez now has 13 BB and 4 Ks in 5.2 IP on the season. Maybe some time in the pitching lab would help. Eduardo Garcia was hit-by-pitch and immediately “left the game due to an injured leg” in the 8th inning. Blake Burke has a double and single (2 of Wisco’s 4 hits), but unfortunately grounded out with 2-on, 1-out while trailing 5-1 in that 8th frame.
  11. - 1B Johan Barrios released by ACL Brewers - OF Antony Gomez released by ACL Brewers
  12. The AAA Sounds can capture a 4-2 home series win over Durham with a victory tonight behind RHP Jacob Misiorowski, who (you guessed it!) is making his 2nd start of the week (6 IP, 0 R, 8 Ks on Tuesday). The lineup was later changed (Alfaro in, Hall out, Oliva leading off…).
  13. The High-A Timber Rattlers can win their first series of 2025 with a victory in Cedar Rapids tonight. 19-year old RHP Manuel Rodriguez makes his 2nd start of the week (5 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks on Tuesday). CF Eduardo Garcia returns after exiting early on Friday and C Eric Martinez makes his first start since July 2024 with the ACL Brewers.
  14. The AA Shuckers aim to polish off a 5-1 home series win over Montgomery behind LHP Tate Kuehner, who’s making his 2nd start of the week (5.2 IP, 2 R, 7 Ks on Tuesday). 3B Brock Wilken comes in with an 18-game on-base streak. C Victor Torres (not played in 2025) is likely the only healthy bench bat.
  15. So we’ve got the Brewers struggling, a new injury concern (Pratt HBP on hands, though he did steal a base and score before exiting) and a 4-Win Saturday affiliate sweep. Biloxi has roared back to a .500 record with a second straight series win. Made hit the grand slam for Carolina, while Hedbert Perez, Zavier Warren, Luke Adams, Wes Clarke and Anthony Seigler homered elsewhere. Alexander Cornielle and Melvin Hernandez each tossed 5 scoreless innings of 3-hit ball. Logan Henderson only allowed 1 hit (a homer) over 6 innings of impeccable work. And Tyson Hardin finally conceded some runs (just 2). I’d imagine a Brewers’ staffer spent part of last night trying to convince the brass to book Jadher Areinamo on an early morning flight from Cedar Rapids to points south (e.g. 5:30am Atlanta->Biloxi) and Josh Adamczewski to points north (7:29am Columbia->DC->Cedar Rapids). Or maybe Dylan O’Rae will magically re-appear in Biloxi.
  16. The Low-A Mudcats turn to 19-year old RHP Bryan Rivera (1.08 ERA, 9 Ks in 8.1 IP) to help break a 4-game skid at Columbia (including 3 one-run losses). DH/C Marco Dinges has 8 RBIs over his last 5 games.
  17. RHP Logan Henderson (last pitched with Brewers on Sunday: 6 IP, 1 R, 9 Ks) is back with AAA Nashville, ready to lead them to a 3-2 home series lead over Durham. C Jorge Alfaro has 5 homers in his last 6 games.
  18. AA Biloxi seeks its 4th consecutive victory at home against Montgomery, with talented RHP Alexander Cornielle making his 4th start (0.71 ERA, 18 Ks in 12.2 IP). With a thin bench (just Ramon Rodriguez and young Victor Torres available), Zavier Warren makes his 4th-ever start at second base (in his 433rd career MILB start).
  19. High-A Wisconsin has won 2 straight and has solid 23-year old RHP Tyson Hardin (0.00 ERA, 16 Ks in 14.2 IP) starting at Cedar Rapids this afternoon. It looks like young C Eric Martinez might be the only available bench bat, so let’s stay healthy! And also win: 1 - Guilarte - 2B 2 - Areinamo - SS 3 - Burke - 1B 4 - Wood - C 5 - Baez - 3B 6 - Perez - RF 7 - Hall - DH 8 - Vargas - LF 9 - Y. Garcia - CF X - Hardin - P
  20. - OF Daz Cameron selected by MLB Brewers from AAA Nashville (replacing injured Garrett Mitchell)
  21. - INF/OF Eric Brown Jr. placed on AA Biloxi’s 7-day injured list, retroactive to April 24 - C David Garcia placed on High-A Wisconsin’s 7-day injured list, retroactive to April 24
  22. I guess it’s just me pushing the panic button, but I kind of thought we HAD to bat Haase for Capra there. Of course it’d force Durbin, Collins or Turang to play short to protect the 4-3 lead after Haase’s 2-run blast and leave us with no remaining bench position players…not desperate enough yet I guess.
  23. The Sounds had 13 hits and went 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts as they grabbed an 8-5 win over Durham to even their series. You’ve seen the Cameron homer above. Jorge Alfaro also added his 7th blast. Deivi started (3 runs). Kudos to Bruce Zimmermann on 3 hitless innings before conceding an earned run in the 9th.
  24. Made grounded out and Dinges popped out to end it, so Carolina has dropped 4 straight, 3 of them by 1 run. :(
  25. The OF Daz Cameron promotion watch is in full swing, as he exited with the Sounds leading 8-4 in the 7th inning. Gotta figure that’s in reaction to Garrett Mitchell exiting the Brewer game with oblique discomfort.
