  1. - RHP Brett Wichrowski activated from AA Biloxi’s 7-day injured list
  2. It’s tough when 3 of your 6 highest-paid players are out (Woodruff, Civale, Cortes), especially when we knowingly entered the season without an MLB third baseman or a lock-down closer. I’d like us to get back above .500, even if we hover just above it for a few months. By July 27, I hope we’re: - at least 3 games above .500 - within 6 games of the Cubs - missing at most one key player amongst Peralta, Contreras, Chourio, Yelich, Woodruff, Cortes, Hoskins, Turang, Frelick, Quintana. With those ingredients, we can hopefully go on a run to snatch a playoff spot. Remember that we will have played 9 of our 13 games against the Cubs by July 30, including 3 home games from July 28-30.
  3. Brewers swap RHP Craig Yoho (optioned to AAA Nashville) for RHP Elvin Rodriguez (recalled to MLB Brewers)
  4. Andruw Monasterio battles thru 8 pitches for a leadoff 5th inning double and steals 3rd base, but is left stranded after Ks by Oliva, Dunn and Clarke. Still 1-1 Nashville at Gwinnett.
  5. Luis Pena walks and steals 2 bases in the bottom of the 8th inning, but is stranded (Payne K, Di Turi pop out). Carolina still trails 3-2. Nadal, Walling and Lameda will need to come thru in the bottom of the 9th, after Bjorn locks down the top half.
  6. Holobetz goes a whopping 92 pitches over 5.1 innings of relief (2 R) for Carolina. I can’t imagine he’ll be in Low-A much longer. LHP Bjorn Johnson enters with 1-on, 1-out in the top of the 8th inning. Carolina trails 3-2.
  7. Three walks and a Jared Oliva single give Nashville a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning, but Gwinnett got the run back via a walk, single and sac fly. 1-1 thru 3 innings.
  8. Luis Pena singled, stole 2nd and scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 6th inning. Reece Walling reaches on an infield error to lead off the bottom of the 7th inning. Lameda, T-Rod and Walther due up.
  9. Le Mis went 3-up, 3-down in the 2nd inning, getting 2 Ks and peaking at 99.4mph. That’s what we expect to see.
  10. Nashville’s bench is lean: EMJ (last played April 22), Freddy Zamora (played once in last 5 games), Kahle (3rd string catcher). For Biloxi, INF Ethan Murray started today after being absent from the lineup for the past 4 games, so they appear to have 11 healthy position players plus a rostered bullpen catcher.
  11. Misiorowski didn’t register any 1st inning punch outs and only hit 97.1mph on the radar gun, but managed to strand baserunners at 2nd and 3rd (reached via walk, single).
  12. Kuehner went all-in on 3 true outcomes in the 1st inning, to the detriment of himself and Biloxi: K, K, BB, BB, 3-run homer. The offense will need to step up.
  13. Zero runs and 15 Ks for Wisconsin hitters. The last 11 were retired in order as they lost 1-0. That seems unfair to Hardin and Root. They fall to 10-16 and need a win tomorrow to salvage a 3-3 series split.
  14. I’m encouraged by our lack of errors, only K’ing 7 times and the fact that all 6 opponent runs were scored when we asked for additional inning(s) from Tanner Shears (last official game Sep 2023) and 18-year old LHP Enderson Mercado (first stateside game). I’m not encouraged by only earning 3 non-Boeve hits, but the good news is they all went for extra bases. I’m surprised that 19-year old RHP Argenis Aparicio (stateside debut) only faced 3 hitters.
  15. Here’s that Low-A Carolina lineup, including the organizational debut of 22-year old RHP Jaron DeBerry (2024 third round pick) and the return-from-injury of SS Luis Pena. They’re tied 2-2 in their home series against Myrtle Beach.
  16. BrewerFanatic #1 prospect RHP Jacob Misiorowski gets another chance to show the Brewers what they’re missing, as AAA Nashville aims to clinch a series victory at Gwinnett. SS Oliver Dunn’s bat is finally coming around.
  17. The AA Shuckers can clinch a 3rd straight series victory with a win at Columbus tonight behind LHP Tate Kuehner. LF Bladimir Restituyo comes in riding a 6-game hit streak.
  18. Time to kick off the ACL Brewers’ season, as they host the ACL White Sox behind rehabbing LHP DL Hall and Mike Boeve: 1 - Jorge Quintana - SS 2 - Mike Boeve - DH 3 - Jose Anderson - CF 4 - Handelfry Encarnacion - RF 5 - Juan Ortuno - 2B 6 - Kevin Garcia - C 7 - Frederi Montero - 3B 8 - Gery Holguin - 1B 9 - Engel Paulino - LF X - DL Hall - P
  19. - INF Luis Pena activated from Low-A Carolina’s 7-day injured list - RHP Manuel Rodriguez placed on High-A Wisconsin’s 7-day injured list on May 1, 2025 - INF Cristian Montilla assigned to DSL Brewers Gold - RHP Enrique Velasquez assigned to DSL Brewers Gold
  20. The Timber Rattlers send out formidable 23-year old RHP Tyson Hardin (0.96 ERA, 20 Ks in 18.2 IP) to break a 2-2 series tie against West Michigan, with a 1:10 pm CST start time at home. RF Hedbert Perez has 24 total bases over his last 9 games.
  21. I hope Juan Baez is okay after he exited following an HBP in the 7th inning for Wisconsin. The Timber Rattlers still lead 6-0.
  22. Bryan Rivera was doing quite well through 3+ innings of work, but a double and 2 infield singles in the 9th put him in 2-out trouble while over the 60-pitch mark. A back-breaking double now makes it 7-2 Pelicans ahead of the Mudcats. Tough luck.
  23. 3 singles and 2 walks for Carolina produce just 1 run in the 6th inning, due in part to their second untimely caught stealing (Made earlier; Payne now). But both teams have had their fair share of opportunities. Myrtle Beach leads 4-2.
  24. Monasterio rips a 1-out double off Wiles and steals 3rd base, but it looks like his effort may go for naught as Oliva K’s for the 3rd time in 3 tries. But have no fear! Oliver Dunn comes through with a 2-run hoommmeeerr, 109.6mph off the bat. It’s 2-1 Sounds. And Wes Clarke follows with a solo shot! 3-1! Go Nashville!!
  25. Nearly saved by rain. Down 3-1 in the 6th inning, Bryan Rivera entered in relief, allowing a first pitch double and walk before a rain delay paused action. After they resumed, Rivera got a K, fly out and ground ball to nearly escape. But the grounder to first was actually an RBI single. Down 4-1 now, Carolina has 4 more cracks (innings) at this.
