  1. These are likely the last MILB Spring Training lineups of 2025, with several notable names showing up for the first time (Coleman Crow, Bryce Meccage, Travis Smith) and Nick Mears also throwing:
  2. We’re already halfway through, but here’s the original lineup nonetheless, with 23-year old RHP Logan Henderson getting the start at home against Jacksonville and newcomer C Anthony Seigler making his first organizational appearance.
  3. I'm not sure if we caught this earlier: former Brewers' OF Chris Roller signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League
  4. We’ve got Jeferson Quero back behind the dish and a sign of healthy life from Jesus Rivero!
  5. The AAA Nashville Sounds’ 2025 Season Opener has them hosting the Marlins’ Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. 23-year old RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez gets the start, while newcomers Caleb Durbin, Jared Oliva, Jorge Alfaro, Raynel Delgado, Jimmy Herron and Garrett Spain grace the lineup. On the bump for the opposition is old friend Janson Junk.
  6. - OF Brewer Hicklen (previously DFA'd) traded to Detroit for cash
  7. RHP Evan McKendry of AAA Nashville placed on Development List Newly-signed C Ty Duvall of AAA Nashville placed on Development List
  8. I'm sorry to have post this on INF/OF Tyler Black:
  9. Very sorry to bear bad news:
  10. We’ve got the Nashville Sounds’ Opening Day roster, including a few surprises (e.g. newly-signed C Ty Duvall):
  11. Since Chourio, Yelich and Contreras took the day off, the big news of the day is clearly CF Braylon Payne returning to MILB Spring Training action!:
  12. Thanks. Maybe that’s why Anderson hasn’t started the past 2 ST games. We’ve seen Alastre, Diaz and Barrios make starts. Then Tyler Rodriguez, Edgardo Ordonez and Antony Gomez are also possibilities, with Gomez likely to add outfield depth.
  13. If the Spring Training lineups are an indication, the Low-A Carolina Mudcats’ lineup will be amazingly prospect-laden: - C Dinges - 1B Bitonti - 2B Adamczewski - 3B Pena - SS Made - OF Payne (actually been unavailable with a slight injury) - OF Anderson - OF Nicasia - DH Walling - Bench: Nadal, Di Turi, etc.
  14. Are we thinking that someone like Ashby will go on the 60-day IL to free up a 40-man MLB roster spot for Bauers?
  15. Today’s 3 MILB ST lineups. As Yeager and Maciejewski remain in camp, that’s usually a signal they’ll start the season in AA.
  16. I hadn’t grasped that we should be able to option Quintana (with his consent), then recall him as an emergency replacement for Cortes, when Cortes’ wife goes into labor in early April (by God’s grace). (credit to McCalvy)
  17. Players set to open the season at AAA Nashville are presumably headed there today. I’m happy to see LHP Anthony Flores listed for the first time this spring:
  18. With Canha and Margot exiting stage left, I assume this opens the door for Tyler Black to suddenly get a good amount of outfield time. 1 - Andruw Monasterio - SS 2 - Caleb Durbin - 2B 3 - Tyler Black - LF 4 - Brewer Hicklen - RF 5 - Ernesto Martinez - 1B 6 - Wes Clarke - DH (Quero to Biloxi) 7 - Raynel Delgado - 3B 8 - Jared Oliva - CF 9 - Jorge Alfaro - C SPs - Jacob Misiorowski, Logan Henderson, Carlos Rodriguez, Deivi Garcia, Easton McGee Subs - Jimmy Herron (OF), Anthony Seigler (2B/C), Freddy Zamora (INF), Ramon Rodriguez (C) Pen - Uribe, Wolfram, Anderson, Yoho, Nittoli, Jay, Zimmermann, Maciejewski, Middendorf, McWilliams Temporarily Inactive (a few are placed here every year) - McKendry, Liranzo, Kahle Injured List - Crow (guessing), Boeve (guessing), Pannone, Bukauskas
  19. With Quintana’s next scheduled throwing session on Opening Day, he wouldn’t likely be able to make an MLB start until April 1 or 2 at the earliest. As such, we may cross the line from boldness into stupidity if we roster both Quintana and Uribe, leaving us with 11 available pitchers (including a Rule 5 pick) for the first few games. I won’t be surprised if we option Uribe and make do without him for the first 19 days of the MLB season, as that may be better than depriving the team of Quintana’s quasi-length. So Chad Patrick or Logan Henderson could very well grab Uribe’s roster spot to start the year.
  20. C Jeferson Quero assigned to AA Biloxi from AAA Nashville OF Manuel Margot released by AAA Nashville (since he could have opted out of his minor league contract anyway) INF Caleb Durbin optioned to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers INF/OF Tyler Black optioned to AAA Nashville from MLB Brewers
  21. I believe this is the first time we’re seeing pitchers Bryan Rivera, Enderson Mercado and Miqueas Mercedes in lineups this spring:
  22. 85-77, somehow making the playoffs after trailing by ~6 games for two thirds of the season
  23. Eduardo Garcia, Marco Dinges, Eric Bitonti and Kay-Lan Nicasia are each down a level from prior days. I’m guessing there are some tough AA decisions (keep or cut) being pondered.
  24. 29-year old RHP Michael (don’t call me an outfielder) Reed has signed with the Mississippi Mud Monsters of the independent Frontier League. He played 29 games for AAA Nashville as an outfielder in 2023 before converting to pitching with the Rangers (Arizona Complex League) in 2024.
