    Ultimately you had a one run lead with with two innings left. It’s doesn’t matter if it was 8-7 or 1-0. At some point you have to show the ability to close these out. Our top relievers haven’t shown much at all this year. apparently we have to be up 6-2 a lot to win

    We really don’t have a closer right now. You can’t pitch Ashby 200 innings. Hell. Woodford might have had a better inning there

    Yep. Right now you can’t be a contender if you can’t hold close leads late. It’s weird but they don’t play a lot of games like this. Thank god or our record would be a lot worse

    These are the games I want to see if we are actually a contender. One run game in the 7th. Can the bullpen finish it out. Can they put up a couple of zeros.

    This team can really improve too if they actually try to do something on the left side of the infield and replace the frelick/mitchell/perkins thing. My guess is they are going to ride frelick this whole season also I still think the bullpen needs to improve. Hopefully Koenig is like last year. But Megill and uribe in the 8th and 9th is shaky right now startig pitching and tip half of order is carrying us on their backs now

    They might be slow playing Vaughn for awhile. He is coming off a broken bone in his hand. I think you will see more Vaughn full time as season plays out.

    I would say the bullpen was the top reason for our consistent success for these last 5 years or so.

    Ashby is going to make the all star team isn’t he. He might be leading the nl in wins at the all star break

    We have to do something about the bad players on the left side of infield. You just have too. I’m worried about the frelick/mitchell thing too but I’m willing to give them more of a leash. But ss and 3b have to go. And if you are worried about too many young players than just play one at third or short and see how it goes. This is just asenine
