  1. Huge fan of the new uniforms. And the logo was and is iconic. It should have never been shelved
  2. Im assuming Acuna wont be hustling too much the rest of this game. "Let the kids play!!!!!!!"
  3. There are not too many times that I would bet baseball games. But tonight is the perfect storm of everything I look for. A good team who is a home underdog against a pitcher going on short rest. And you were getting 2 1/2 to one. This is the game you load up on
  4. Mariano Rivera gave up 11 homers his first year in the majors. Every other year it was like an average of three per year Hader gave up 15 freaking homers this year. I don’t know if I would compare those two like hader is on Rivera career path or something. Hader can be good. Hader can be bad. He was bad when it really mattered which leaves a bad taste in your mouth Just be better next year if he’s going to be the guy
  5. I'm going to call in a favor and make sure word gets to the players, coaches, and front office that they need to figure it out and get it together. Too bad you couldn’t have just called in that favor to hader the last week of September maybe we’d have more in game threads this week instead of talking about walk per nine or other crap If you have that kind of pull what the hell were you dong last week. Get yourself together
  6. I literally don't care about any of this stay or go. All I care about is the next time (if there is a next time) we can win a division or/and win the wild card game within a three day stretch, the damn closer does it. I would have been happy at 50% success rate. It was an abysmal failure in the biggest games we played this year. Whoever it is, get it together
  7. Who knows. You could be right or you could be dead wrong. Cleveland is downgraded because the royals are bad. But then who says we are better then the Mets. Their division is tougher. Maybe our division is so tough that every win was tough to come by and that the Houston’s and Minnesota’s, etc would only win 90 games. Or maybe our division was just a pile of average crap too and we benefited from that I’m sure the equivalent of you on the Cleveland fan forum is saying how much better they were than the brewers this year and why do we have to watch them choke it up tonight. Why weren’t we in the NL? And on and on. It is what it is. That’s why I said it depends on how you ranked them.
  8. I'm not rejoicing, by any means. At the same time, there are varying levels of success. We were more successful than 20 teams, including quite a few who spent way more money only to fail at being more successful than us. We were less successful than 9 teams. Over the last three years we've won the 8th most games in MLB, more than the A's or the Rays or even the Cardinals. Considering where the organization was at when Stearns took over, its kinda hard for me to be upset with being only the 2nd best small market team besides Cleveland in such a short amount of time. We've only just begun...we'll start out walking & we'll learn to run...etc...etc He's done a great job. We'll get Yelich back next year, get Knebel back, hopefully keep a few of the guys that were instrumental to our success this year, and hopefully win the division and go from there. Just hard to feel much besides bitter disappointment right now. Stearns has done a heck of a job. Counsell has too overall. We can always nitpick games but they have done their job
  9. Times have changed though. Baseball is not perfect but it’s helped all teams out. The royals went to back to back World Series. Tampa bay. Milwaukee. Oakland all won a lot of games. Cleveland too Minnesota too Tampa and Oakland have horrible stadium situations. I’m actually ok with where baseball is today. Compared to awhile ago
  10. Actually no. There weren't teams with a better record with us, there was A single team. The Cleveland Indians, who went 30-8 against the Royals & Tigers. If we got to play 38 games against two 100+ loss teams, we might have won a few more games too. Whatever dude. Your the semantic guy. I was just helping you out But I will concede the point (despite not mentioning that some of these teams also play against 100 odd win teams while our division had the worst division champion) since you actually graduated to using context with data That makes it infinitely more fun and useful to debate.
  11. Yeah but your winning percentage in baseball can be way lower. The brewers won less than 55% of their games this year. Even a crappy 9-7 team is better than that
  12. By game 160, 20 teams' entire seasons were ALREADY absolute failures. I guess if you want to say we were ONLY the 10th best team this year, I can get behind that. Actually no. There were teams with better records that weren’t in the playoffs. So it depends on how you rank the teams. Luckily we played in a league were only 89 wins got you in
  13. Different sports. Access to the postseason is easier in both. Baseball is still the hardest postseason to qualify for. I have no problem with a little flag out there for the 2019 Wild Card. They’re not ostentatious anyway. Football is 6 out of 16 teams and baseball is 5 out of 15. So it’s pretty close. I could see putting a banner out for division titles listing the years but I don’t know about wild cards I guess it doesn’t matter to me either way. But I do get the point people are making that playing and losing this game isn’t as big a deal as others make it out to be
  14. I would call it a success because of what type of team they were at the all star break But an absolutely failure from game 160 on. They should be playing more games. It was garbage.
  15. It’s kind of sad that a fitting end to the season is a game that featured a reLiever choking in the late inning. A schoolboy error. And 0 for a million with risp Ha
  16. I'm sure they will, and it will be fine. This is a season, especially for the last month, that should be remembered and honored. Really? I can understand in 2008, when it was a 1 WC team format. Or even if we had won tonight. I had kind of hoped that we are past the point where we would celebrate being a team that lost the WC play-in game between the #4 and #5 seeded teams in the league. I can't imagine that is a thing in any other stadium, but maybe I am wrong. Question because I don’t know the answer. Do the packers commemorate wild card appearances? Or even division championships? Do the bucks do the same for playoff appearances, etc?
  17. This is worse than last year for me, too, we didn't make it game 7 of the NLCS. Still, I consider the season a success on the whole since the Cubs, Phillies & Mets spent over a half billion dollars to not even lose the Wild Card game. I consider the season a success too. Especially for how bad a team they were at the all star break. But I am also, going to,separate the success with an extreme disappointment for blowing the Colorado game and the wild card game. At least one of those should have been won if not both
  18. He gave up 15 freaking home runs. That is more than starters. And he choked away a division and knocked his team out of the playoffs in three days. That is terrible I think it’s completely fair to rip,him tonight. And gave up less than 5 hits per 9, less than 2.5 walks per 9, and about 16.5 Ks per 9. Things that most pitchers in baseball can’t touch in their wildest dreams. Keep grasping at one stat. His overall stats speak volumes. Blowing a division and a wild card game in three days matters. Matters more than any stat Hader will be here next year. Let’s hope he matters. We will see how mentally tough he is next year
  19. He gave up 15 freaking home runs. That is more than starters. And he choked away a division and knocked his team out of the playoffs in three days. That is terrible I think it’s completely fair to rip,him tonight.
  20. Knebel being hurt was. Shaw, Chacin, Aguilar, Jeffress.................... Nah. Thames was really good. Shaw sucking got hiura up here. Chacin. Who cares. Tons of starters replaced him. Jeffress maybe Who cares about any of those guys. They didn’t matter in the long run anyways
  21. To be fair to that guy that was a little league blunder by Grisham. I had no faith in hader getting out of it anyways. But Grisham does need to take some heat too.
  22. Take not allowed. Hader is totally fine. Every take is allowed. Either agree or disagree with yours Tomorrow we can start the how real fans should act thread
  23. I do wonder if grish is on the opening day roster though. I could see him back in the minors Heck of a season for Eric Thames. Props to him
