  1. Our results over the last 2.5 years are infinitely more relevant to our prospects of future success than anything that happened in the 47.5 years which came before. I do agree. Last year was a heck of year. A successful year. I don’t know why everyone is downplaying it. And this year still has to play out. It’s not over yet But I do get the other side. Just because you make the playoffs one year doesn’t mean everything is great. Hopefully there is some consistency and they go back again is the short future
  2. Two Brewers teams in the last decade have better regular season records than the '82 team and the '82 team had the advantage of only having to win one series to make it to the World Series. The logo, I've made my opinion quite clear on that. If that's part of what you're hanging your hat on, more power to you but it's kind of sad. Wow. You aren’t much fun. It’s really not that big of a deal It was also a lot harder to make the playoffs back then than it was now. No wild card and 7 team divisions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don’t see the point of getting all pissed off about this. There is so many other things to worry about
  3. There are a lot of other things to take in context during the season too though. It would be nice for people to stop basing things on preseason guessing of records. Ultimately they are meaningless. It’s fun and drives interestand arguments and debates. But it means nothing Let’s say a team has a ten game lead with 11 to play and they blow it. Oh well some half ass expert said we were going to be in third place so please eat the Cheerios I gave you that had pee in it and celebrate the successful season. Sometimes it doesn’t work like that. Not saying this current season is like that. But anybody can rationalize any situation. Every year You either make the playoffs or you don’t. There will always be some sort of failure in that and pro teams should not be convinced otherwise
  4. Well, when you don't have a WS win to hang your hat on ... You still shouldn't be celebrating a team that lost the World Series by acting like they won 5. Best team in brewer history. A lot of memorable players. Plus one of the greatest logos in baseball history. Why we ever changed, I will never know
  5. Adding two quality bullpen arms, one of which needs to be capable of closing games, would give a chance to compete. But this team seems like a leaking boat without enough material to plug all the holes. Woodruff’s injury might be what puts the team under. Not saying playoffs are out of the question, just beginning to think it might not be a probable result. Playoffs are not a probable result. But they have a chance. Some good signs in the very very recent past could be undone of this home stand goes bad
  6. This reminded me of jeffress in the playoffs. Counsell overused him then. Three days in a row was too much to ask.
  7. After all that and that happens. The brewers are just not going to get over the hump. What a slog these last few months have been. That is just terrible
  8. Saladino hit another grand slam? This is where you think maybe it’s the brewers year again It’s nice to see this offense get back to where no deficit is too much like it was early in the year
  9. It’s so tough. They can still win this series. But you make some noise with big series wins to give it right back against crap teams at home. It’s like the complete the definition of a .500 team Reds aren’t a crap team. True. But they aren’t good either. They still are like 8 games under right?
  10. It’s so tough. They can still win this series. But you make some noise with big series wins to give it right back against crap teams at home. It’s like the complete definition of a .500 team
  11. The mike trout effect. Guy who should win basically every year. Or the Michael Jordan effect. That dude should have won the mvp every year he payed except for the wizards era
  12. And they should. That’s what the world needs. It’s what the world wants Pirates. Cardinals. Two teams enter. One team leaves
  13. Time to get someone RIGHT now...they will need them for the Cubs series. It's still an upgrade when Woody comes back though. They better NOT trot out one of their crap arms they have been for a game against the Cubs in place of Woody. Burnes and Shaw will be back.
  14. But Gamel doesn’t start? I’d rather have the good defensive OFer in Gamel who is doing decent for a 4th OFer who HAS defense. Trent Grisham is nowhere nearly as good defensively and what will it take for him to be more valuable? .780....800 OPS? Pretty lofty expectation you have for a guy with little success at AA and above. I just don’t see Grisham doing better and I don’t think we are desperate to make that move...seems like you are desperate for a change, but that doesn’t seem like the spot warranting it. If you want to throw darts at a dart board try SS. He’s toying with AAA pitching, I believe he’s a left handed Hiura comp. and would succeed immediately in the big leagues. Maybe not a 70 hit tool like Hiura, but a great plate approach, High on base, power hitting bat. With him up, CC might rest the trio a little more for the stretch run and playoffs. But we’ll see if he continues his onslaught. There is something quite unnatural about your love for minor leaguers.
  15. If the Brewers continue to rattle off wins it’s going to be disappointing if they don’t end up making any meaningful acquisitions at the deadline. Especially after his comments. The costs could be pretty high this year since everyone is still in it. I’m almost with the go with the guys we have crowd and buck up and perform
  16. Awe, don’t fret, we understand, 88% of us thought the game was over too, we just didn’t say it on air. It’s an in game thread. Off the cuff comments happen all the time People shouldn’t get too worked up
