His jacked up ankle is affecting his whole leg with the way he is favoring the ankle on his landing after throwing. This simple sprained ankle could turn into a serious injury if he's not removed now. I'd line up...Hawkins-6th, Saito-7th, KRod-8th, Ax-9th.

RR uses platoon LH/RH way too much. To only use Hairston in that manner is just trying to be "too cute" with his lineups. These guys are veteran major leaguers, right? They can hit a RHP if they're a righty hitter. It's not as though they haven't faced them all their lives since little league. Let's get the first one vs Jackson and it takes all the pressure off of us for the final two games. If he keeps his mouth shut this series, I may offer to buy LaRussa a drink.

Just read the IGT up to this point and have to say you guys are sure riding the "stealing signs" thing a little too hard. It appears in nearly every post. This is going to rival the "how can Carpenter explain this to his son" and "classy" comments for all time most-referenced phrases.

The Cardinals have surpassed the Cubs as my most despised team. I'm sure if the Cubs were anywhere near respectable in the standings that might not be the case. 3 things, in particular, bug me with the Cardinals: 1) LaRussa 2) Pujols' mightier-than-thou attitude and his blatant show-boating while trying to come off as Mr. Squeaky Clean 3) The fact that the Cardinals seem to pick up everyone else's retreads each year, start them, and get awesome production out of them. Do not know if any team is luckier out there than them in that respect. Also, I liken their franchise to the Cavaliers. If they were to lose their Golden Boy at the end of the season (like Cavs lost LeBron) the franchise would tank and the aura of the Cardinals would go down the drain too. Let's get 'em tonight.

Face it (because I have), for whatever reason Melvin and RR love Kotsay and Counsell's "veteran presence" in the clubhouse and forget that neither of them are good baseball players anymore. So, they forsake having the best players on the team that they can to keep their 'gritty' vets who can't hit worth a lick. -

Counsell doing his thing. My god is he bad. I blame the Miller Park fans for this...cheering Craig like he just came back from two tours of duty in a war evert time he comes up to bat no matter how lousy he is. Of course Melvin cant cut a fan favorite...
