  1. RR is a robot manager. Man on first, we must bunt! (insert robot voice)
  2. What makes you believe RR will all of a sudden bail on McGehee and Betancourt? He could've done so already and yet still bats them in the middle of the lineup. Nothing will change.
  3. Our #5 and #6 hitters are the worst in our lineup. Pathetic how stubborn RR is. He's going to manage this team right into a first round sweep exit. I actually expect it now.
  4. Cardinals are a better team than the Brewers right now. Wouldn't want to see them in the playoffs.
  5. I'm more concerned about a first round sweep at the hands of the Phillies. Arizona will finish ahead of Milwaukee.
  6. Sucks to have to root for other team's to lose when you were up 10.5 games just days ago. Instead of taking care of their own business, we're resigned to doing this.
  7. Not surprising. Well actually it is...I was expecting a shallow pop up.
  8. Phills are just a better team. A much, much, much better team.
  9. STL is definitely not afraid of MIL. They always play the Brewers very confidently and tough. Thankfully, we have a nice cushion.
  10. You say that as though we wouldn't be better off with Furcal than our current SS. Care to expound? Because you can put me in the category of thinking we needed to get him. 14 of Furcals 30 hits as a Cardinal have come against the Brewers. We should have gotten him just for when he is playing us because outside of that he has been pretty bad. His OBP is under .300 as a Cardinal. Yuni's numbers have been fairly similar over the same time, but Furcal has to be better on defense. So....who would YOU rather have playing SS for the Milwaukee Brewers between the two? Your answer was cloudy.
  11. You say that as though we wouldn't be better off with Furcal than our current SS. Care to expound? Because you can put me in the category of thinking we needed to get him.
  12. He clearly is heading downward in his play. Speed = gone. Throwing arm = gone. What's next = power/batting average? He'd be a guy I'd be looking to trade this off-season if I were Melvin as his value would be as high as it will ever be.
  13. I was watching the Cardinals feed on the MLB package yesterday and their mic caught McGehee as he was walking towards the dugout dropping an F-bomb. The announcer went out of his way to apologize to the viewing audience as the on-field mic's sometimes catch this type of language.
  14. That's why you need a #5 hitter that can provide protection to Prince. Rickie can't come back soon enough.
  15. Keep playing McGehee RR. Keep riding your favorite sub .300 OBP guys to the promised land...ie. First rd exit in playoffs
  16. Melvin will look like a moron if he leaves Green off the playoff roster for the likes of a Counsell, Kotsay or Wilson.
  17. If I am Mat Gamel I am furious. If I were him I would call Melvin and ask "level with me, what do you envision for my future with the Brewers?" If he says anything but "we expect you to start next year for the Brewers" I am requesting a trade. There is no reason for him not to be promoted and they've screwed with this guy long enough.
  18. Just when RR does something good *starting Green* he does something stupid putting Kotsay in the 5-spot for no good reason.
  19. Speaking of all these medical matters, any recent updates on Weeks?
  20. Furcal with a big RBI hit in the 8th vs. Chapman. Who was that yesterday saying that Furcal only hits against MIL and nobody else? Again, Doug should have tried harder. No excuse to run Yuni out there everyday. He stunk well before the trading deadline; it's not like his suckiness crept up out of nowhere. We should have a major league SS.
  21. It shows you two things: 1) he doesn't like rookies (his PT for Gamel when he was up earlier this year proved it as well) 2) he's sticking with his veteran "guys" no matter what -- production be damned, he's playing them
  22. It's obvious he's going to stick with his veterans. The only way he plays the likes of Green are for Melvin to get rid of McGehee/Kotsay/Counsell this off-season. He will always defer to the guys that got him to this point so he doesn't lose the clubhouse. How is giving the young guys a couple of ABs going to lose the clubhouse? People keep saying this like its a fact that letting Green get some PT is going to result in a riot from the players or something. I don't get it. It's because people feel McGehee's psyche is fragile and even spot starts for Green would "screw" with his mind and he would pout. I think RR is fearful of this ruining the morale of the team. Didn't Corey Hart recently stick up for McGehee in the JS saying something like people are calling for Green to come up from AAA but "AAA is much different from big league pitching." This seems like a particularly brotherly clubhouse.
