You guys are writing what I'm thinking. Feels like Saito should have been out of this way earlier. This ump seemed to be really shrinking his strike zone. He was throwing a lot of nice breaking balls for strikes. Don't know what he was looking at.
To try to get him a win... duh. Yeah, because we've been threatening to score runs so often today. It is amazing that Yo is still in there in the 7th having eclipsed the 40 pitch mark after 2 innings. He does "deserve" a W today.
Ummmm, Davey? Davey is in the conversation, but Augie's thick Wisco accent and stammering put him a notch or two above Davey. Put it this way, Augie makes Bob Brainerd look like Bob Costas.
I'm already feeling it -- this is the type of game we're going to have to hear the ol' "tip your cap to the opposing pitcher" bunk quotes. Seems like we're always "tipping our caps" as all the great pitchers always face Milwaukee.
Agreed. He has become so predictable calling sacrifice bunts every time there is a man on 1st or 2nd with less than 2 outs. Let people swing away from time to time. Especially in the 3rd.
Hopefully we got our daily baserunning blunder out of the way with that one. Every game I have come to expect at least one stupid (ie. aggressive) baserunning blunder.
The walk, bad yes. The popup to our 1B/CF should have been caught. The grounder that missed Yuni's glove was not his fault. Bill feels justified now. The lead-off walk ends up scoring for SF.
This is one of those "it seems like a lead-off walk always comes back to bite a pitcher" type of thoughts and it seems to Bill that a walk somehow psychologically alters a pitcher's mind moreso than a base hit. According to your quote, he never mentioned "lead-off" (unless it was implied) but maybe I'm really fishing for something to help me understand his twisted logic.
Still find it hilarious that it seems the minute Wolf gets pulled from the game, Kottaras is tied at his hip and gets yanked as well. RR is a joke; so much for his "no pitcher on this team will have a personal catcher" proclamation before the season started. Take a man for his word, huh?
