  1. Permanently take care of the issue ASAP. Yeah, I'd been putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for about a year or two, basically out of laziness and apathy...I played with fire and got burnt (although I can't imagine burnt flesh would feel much worse than some of the pain I experienced this weekend!) My appointment is made and I can't wait to kiss them goodbye.
  2. D-bow doesn't seem the worry in one-run games that he was for so long.
  3. Following the double the fans throw trash in the field to celebrate and the game is momentarily stopped... classy. Yeah, and with Ramirez flipping his bat and doing a walkoff strut on a 2-out double in the 8th just 30 seconds earlier, it pretty much encapsulated what I despise about the Cubs. I hated that 2003 team--Sosa, Alou, Zambrano, Prior, Ramirez..all jags--but these guys are gaining on them.
  4. If it's Marshall then they probably have a deal for another starter in place, and that has me worried.
  5. An infected wisdom tooth--one of the worst, longest, most painful and sleep-deprived few days I've ever had and then this morning I woke up with a swollen cheek that makes it look like I've got a golf ball in there. Help is on the way, my dentist saw me this morning and I've got script for vicodin and penicillin. But my advice for younger Bf.netters is that for the love of God, get those things taken out while you're still young (and on your parents insurance!).
  6. If I'm a Cubs fan I see an opportunity here, with Hall and Sheets out and some questions elsewhere. Yeah, the ones I know are practically throwing victory parties already. I don't think this is the disaster they seem to think it is, but I can't really be happy about Parra or Balfour coming up given the circumstances.
  7. Barry's not in the lineup tonight
  8. I'm much more interested in Sharpie's return
  9. Phew, yes! How many of Coco's saves have ended with the tying run on third this year?
  10. My heart doesn't need this on a Sunday afternoon
  11. Wow, so I turn on the game and bases loaded for Matt Holliday, great
  12. I'm a little surprised no one's posted this yet. It's dust in the wind now of course, but interesting to speculate, and now at least I don't feel so bad about it See it on YouTube while you can.
  13. I don't want to hear it from a few Cub fans I know. Wow, you haven't heard from them yet? My friends haven't been able to stop yapping since early June
  14. Thankfully I had the Dodgers-Giants feed and it's been a heckuva game...Giants just tied it up 7-7 in the bottom of the 9th
  15. To be fair, it's probably a more accurate statement now than it has been in months That's not to say it's a given, either. The Cubs have been extremley hot the last few weeks while the Crew has been floundering since the last homestand. These streaks happen, and it's maybe the first time since May 10th that the Cubs and Brewers haven't mirrored each other in play. The padding the Crew gave themselves earlier in the year is really helping right now, and will allow for a pretty good dogfight the last couple months. And I like our dogs.
  16. The San Francisco Muni Actually, don't get me started
  17. Sorry, I hadn't seen a thread yet I don't have a huge problem with the list. I'd probably switch #2 and #3 and was surprised that the blowout in New York wasn't included, nor was the recent Damian Miller walkoff. "The top 10 Brewers victories so far in the 2007 season"
  18. My mother-in-law had ovarian cancer (it looked really dire when first diagnosed, actually) and survived for a long time with a strong quality of life. I think the little things count when she's going through chemo, like helping around the house and being an ear and what not...just be yourself, but be positive. Best of to your mother and your family.
  19. Cool...where was the Bay Area market?!?
  20. You can get hearts on your license plate out here in California, that sets my mind racing
  21. He doesn't speak it during national television interviews, though, because he doesn't want to be misunderstood or mistranslated when the interview airs in Japan. Interesting, given that he has said some things in Japanese that sounded terrible when translated into English--the Cleveland comments for instance, or that Wrigley smelled like "fresh garbage." (Actually, I liked that one)
