  1. I would've loved to have seen him crush it on 3-1 but at least he got on
  2. I'm sure he could've handled them but still
  3. Anyone else a little relieved that Sheets isn't facing Vladdy, Maggs and Pudge
  4. To be fair, Buck was a tool before this
  5. Oof, everyone on another board I post at is yelling "Put in Pujols!" Prince seems nervous on the big stage, I hope he isn't like that in the playoffs http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  6. What took you so long?!? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  7. Here are the pics (I don't know the resize code, sorry!): Prince and the fam...his kid looks confused here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/Prince.jpg Big Ben http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/BigBen.jpg Coco...at least his arm! He's behind the sign. I never got another one of him since I was going too crazy yelling at him to "Shut 'em down, man, shut 'em down!" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/Coco.jpg Here was El Caballo (the only non-Brewer pic I took)...another crummy one since I was too busy talking at him when he came by. The truck driver's happy though! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/Caballo.jpg Here's JJ...you can see the ball in the second one and my thumb reaching for it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/Hardy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/SeriesFinale75/HardyToss.jpg
  8. In his half-hearted defense, Freddy Sanchez's wife was smoking hot and as such I was happy to see him in the parade.
  9. I can't help but think of: http://lonewacko.com/images/get-a-brain-morans.jpg
  10. Well, this could devolve, so I'll just say that I'm not really outraged that a guy who lives and works in the US for six months out of the year whose job doesn't require English hasn't learned the language yet. I'd rather listen to an interview with an interpreter than one where a guy is falling all over his words besides. If he's making a life here or needs the language for work I might feel differently.
  11. And that's the bottom line. You can't force a race to take up a sport...you can certainly encourage them, but it can't be forced.
  12. I just came back from the All-Star Red Carpet Parade during my lunch hour and I gotta say, it was really cool, much more fun than I expected. I'm usually pretty blase about this stuff but that brought out the kid in me. I was near the front and right at the fence so I was really close to all the players. I was wearing my Brewers hat and bellowing to the Crew players that cruised by in the pickup trucks with their families (I even told Carlos Lee that "I still love ya Caballo!" and he smiled and laughed and nodded at me). Big Ben yelled "Brewers fan!" and his wife threw me a t-shirt, and when JJ went by I did in fact yell that he could warm up with me anytime and he laughed and tossed me an All-Star soft ball. You could tell those guys were having a great time. Coco had his entire brood on the back of his truck (he nodded solemnly with a tight smile when I told him to "Shut 'em down tonight, Coco!" The guy next to him was laughing and giving thumbs up. Prince seemed pretty non-plussed by the whole thing and just gave me a stoic nod when I shouted "MVP!" His kid was having fun though. I took a few so-and-so photos, including a funny one of JJ actually tossing me the ball, but I don't have the driver on my work computer here to upload them, and probably won't get to it until later tonight since the game starts at 5:45 my time and I'll be racing home from work. The parade actually has me pretty fired up for the game...for the first time since the 2002 change, I feel like the Crew could really benefit from what happens tonight and the season so far just has me much more amped than usual.
  13. How does someone write like that and then complain about someone else's English?
  14. Amanda Wenk is somewhere smiling bitterly
  15. I know for a lot of people around the country the Brewers are the "underdog" second or third team they pull for. They love the old logo, the beer-related stuff, the underdog status, even the old '82 team...now that the team is full of young studs I imagine that'd just increase
  16. Kane's argument in this particular column strikes me as full of holes but as someone who doesn't read the J-S I'd venture to guess that his perspective on race as a black man in Milwaukee is likely very different from the majority of the town's demographic. Not good, not bad, just is. The paper also probably hired him to talk about race issues, that's pretty standard practice, for better or for worse.
  17. I'm going down to the Embarcadero today at lunch for the "Red Carpet Parade" of All-Stars heading to AT&T and was thinking of bring a sign that says: "JJ, You Can Warm Up With Me Anytime!" (Hey, we are in San Francisco...) (made italic code render --1992casey)
  18. Apparently native English speakers aren't the best writers of it either so I'll give him some slack.
  19. And yes, that's your opinion. Voight is tops in Midnight Cowboy.
  20. It's easy to have gotten down a few points this season so far (including, for instance, this afternoon), but it really has been a great first half. Bravo Crew.
  21. Yeah, a 3 1/2 lead going into the All-Star break would have been rough...glad to see 4.5 will hold at least and the Crew back at MP this weekend
  22. Yeah, I gave up on this one and became a Pirates fan for the rest of the afternoon
  23. Of course a good team can lose a series to a really bad team, that doesn't mean they should
  24. "Hellacious road trip"...the Crew is playing the Nationals and the Pirates. Regardless of past history in PNC Park, we should have had at least a winning record this series. If the Brewers don't make the playoffs by a couple games this week is really gonna sting.
