  1. Well, of course, this one isn't over yet Pretty entertaining game.
  2. Pump that fist now, Valverde....shout, Valverde, shout
  3. Valverde is by far my least favorite closer we see on a regular basis, way too demonstrative ...hopefully we can do him like we did him last year.
  4. Well, hopefully we can push one across this lousy bandbox in the 9th. We've been hitting them tonight, would a couple more kill us?
  5. Brad Nelson has been a real disappointment this year so far...you gotta swing at a pitch like that
  6. Why are Astros fans clapping at a pitch at JJ's head? Come on, guys
  7. To be fair, they didn't go on about it...a lot of replays and with a couple pointed comments/silences. I don't mind listening to them at all--the only opposing teams announcers I really dread are the Cubs and the Marlins--terrible homers and very chatty and loud.
  8. Mnan, I kinda wanted to sing "Kum-ba-ya" after reading that... In all seriousness, I really liked the confidence from the front office and lack of panic from the players. And of course, it is kinda cool that our guys bro down together.
  9. Man, the Astros' announcers didn't seem too pleased neither with the way Cam broke up that DP nor the way Billy eyeballed that one going out Me, I'm OK, with it.
  10. I don't know if it's Top 5 for me, but it's a favorite, and it tastes esp. great out of the keg if you ever get the chance. Anyone know when New Glarus' new facility opens? I'm gonna be in Ole Sconnie in August and hope to check it out.
  11. Ah, OK, yeah, I can picture that now. I thought that might've been the space dead under where the stein ended up being
  12. Man, that is seriously a heckuva deal...wish I could make it!
  13. I remember this like it was yesterday...I listened to the whole thing on the radio in Chicago. I remember Powell asking Ueck in the 6th if Obie knew what he had going, and Ueck seemed incredulous with the question. This was also the one where Ohka got into a tiff with Robinson on the mound, right? Leading to his trade to the Crew a couple weeks later? Maybe I'm mixing it up; it was right around then, though. Kinda funny that Claudio Vargas also pitched against the Brewers that night. And when you look at that lineup the Brew Crew fielded, it seems like a million years ago--only Billy Hall is still with us.
  14. Yep, probably my favorite of the year next to seeing Yo go yard live here in SF (yesterday's was just too tense, and I always get too worked up with Cubs' games). And this also really adds nothing, but I gotta say it: I'd promised my wife that we'd exercise together after work, but the game was in full flush (right after the 2 out rally), so when we went into the living room to do some yoga together for about an hour or so, I positioned myself so I'd be able to catch glances of the game itself playing on mute in the other room. So yeah: I did yoga while watching YoGa. Kinda hard to have disciplined meditative repose when you keep wanting to pump your fist.
  15. Haha, fantastic Are they in the bleachers?
  16. Not familiar with Paulino and that makes me very concerned
  17. I really prefer Culver's to In-n-Out If I could somehow get a meal of a Culver's butterburger, In-n-Out animal-style fries, and then some Kopp's frozen custard for dessert, I'd be a happy man
  18. Yeah, I got the chance to meet her last year here in SF, too, and she was really friendly, chatted with me and my wife and another Brewers' fan at AT&T Park for about 10-15 minutes (more than we deserevd, since I got her attention by drunkenly bellowing "TRENNNIIII!!!!!"...hey, what can I say, the Brewers had just finished a big sweep and I was in a mood...) or so about the team and the Ray Durham trade and baseball broadcasts on EI and the Bay Area and Wisconsin, etc. Definitely knew all her stuff well and has a great demeanor...like I said earlier, a natural for her line of work. I disagree that she was all that small, though, I stand about 6'1 and she wasn't that far below me (as made obvious by the photo, she was nowhere near as fat, drunk and sweaty as me though!).
  19. As far as non-fast food, I love those greasy ones they serve at Kroll's in Green Bay Booches in Columbia Missouri are also fantastic There's a small local chain (about 4 locations) in SF called BurgerMeister that I'm also a sucker for
  20. I don't know what happened to my first post in this thread, but I do feel kinda bad she's been talked about like a piece of meat here (and intimations about "college stories"? Come on...)--our only real contact with her is as an interviewer/TV personality (yes, appearances are a big part of that, I understand), and she was top-notch for that. I don't get MLB Network so I can't comment about her performance there, but I can imagine she's doing well there. I mean, I guess it's no different than a bunch of housewives clucking about how attractive certain soap opera stars are, and who knows, maybe there is a group of female Brewers' fans dissecting Brian Anderson's appearance somewhere...
  21. My sentiments exactly! Well done, though, Dave! Hopefully the third time will be the charm! I wasn't even gonna post in or even read this thread while the chance was still here, I was so afriad of jinxing it (also mad at myself for not DVRing today's game!)
  22. Shame they couldn't have pushed another across there...Bush has looked good but we need as many runs as we can get in Philly
  23. Hamels, Braun and Hart are all on my fantasy team--this game was going well for me all the way around All petty issues about FB aside, I hope Hamels will be OK. This is the best he's looked all year and he's fun to watch when he's on.
