  1. Only because he wanted to leave. I hope MA can keep him.
  2. I wonder if that has ever happened?
  3. The Dodger proposal is by far the best. Fits needs the Brewers have with top prospects.
  4. In reference to 82brewcrew's thought. For Andrew Miller the Yankees got Clint Frazier who was the No. 21 prospect. He has played in the big leagues but has not been a regular. Justus Sheffield was the No. 69 prospect and he has been traded to Seattle. He has been in the big leagues a bit with poor results. J.P. Freyereisen is now with the Brewers. Ben Heller is a 28 year old who has 25 big league innings. So the "big" haul the Yankees got for Miller has not turned out very well.
  5. I just wonder if he would like to move on to an organization that spends more money on payroll? Can you trade a person in his position?
  6. There has been talk that they are looking to trade Cain. Do you think that one leads to the other?
  7. I really don't think the big additions we are all hoping for are coming via free agency. As Brewcrewin07 stated above there aren't a lot of "good" guys left. My thinking is that our way of getting the key missing pieces we all want is going to happen via the trade market. There are some names available that would be interesting additions for the Brewers. The problem is the cost.
  8. Don't disagree Rollie. We have somehow found a way to get by with average starters the last two years. Would need some Stearns magic there. Unless MA is going to bump payroll again this year.
  9. So if they get Lindor in the above trade it would add about $11 million to the payroll bringing it to $86 ish. Room for a Donaldson signing I would speculate. Now that would be a killer lineup. No matter who plays 1B.
  10. But the 2 years of Lindor would match our competitive window pretty well and make for an awesome lineup.
  11. Would a package of Hader Arcia Turang Ray get it done? Would the Brewers do it?
  12. Don't think that is smart money but another name off the board. Not many free agents left that we would pursue. Looking at the trade market now. Or not?
  13. To 3and2Fastball I'm not disagreeing with maybe the Rangers made a poor pick. It seems it is hard to find major league talent that late in the draft. Are there guys every year that do make it? Sure but it is hard to consistently draft mlb players that late. We get a positions of need right now who is a major league player. And we get him for 3 years. I think that is a fair trade off.
  14. For those upset about the comp pick last year the Rangers used it to select Davis Wendzel a college 3B. 22 years old at the time with an above average hit tool but below average power outlook. Had few AB's in the pros. Projects as an average ball player at best. That is not an exciting prospect. This year's traded pick is around 71. Who do you really think they would get with that?
  15. That is going to put the payroll at around $65 million. There is a quite a bit of cash to spend.
  16. What about non tender Shaw and use that money to help sign Donaldson and Moose? Would have 1B and 3B covered and money to go get a pitcher or two?
  17. If you take away those 3 starts in Colorado his ERA was 3.92. He's left handed and has 5 years of control. I think the pitching side of the trade works for the Brewers.
