OMG! Hiura actually got a single … he didn’t strike out again … trade him while he’s on base & has value
-
Need ? ? Desire … might be the better word I believe we had Ashby in late 2021 too
-
Do we have a 2nd LH arm in the bullpen in addition to Milner? We look thin there with Ashby on the IL. I don’t think Small is the answer. I say no to Varland on the OD roster - even if we lose him back to LA.
-
Yelich has been awful defensively this Spring He looks sleepy out there We have 3 or 4 DH’s on our roster
-
I hope he’s on the OD roster Reminds me of Brunansky - Deer - Sexson - Brouhard - Bichette I like all those guys
-
Agreed … but that $2M could have gone to another LH bullpen arm like Will Smith
-
Gosh, I hope you are correct … I simply can’t see it What teams might gamble on him?
-
Financially, you are 100% correct Sadly, if Hiura makes the OD roster simply because of his salary - it only compounds the problem & emphasizes a terrible decision to tender his contract this year He adds zero value defensively & very little offensively With our few bench bats, we also need some defensively flexibility - he adds none Unfortunately, I believe he will be kept - hopefully not at the expense of a helpful bat like Voit While Voit is also very limited defensively, he is the superior backup 1B & a veteran bat who strikes out less often
-
Two bad choices … DFA him & lose $2m Keep him on the roster & have a terrible defensive player with a 40% strikeout rate hoping he “gets into one” from time to time It was a terrible decision to tender him a contract this season Hopefully - there will be a third option … Some desperate team takes a flier on him via a trade & assumes his contract
-
Which will cost Milwaukee $2M What a terrible decision to sign him this year
-
I surely hope they can trade him - otherwise he will be paid $2M to be DFA’d
-
What a horrible decision
-
I love Winker’s bat … glad he’s healthy He is not a good defensive OF … that’s all I like him at DH exclusively
-
I certainly agree that Owen Miller is not an adequate CF … I do like his bat & his versatility. I certainly hope Hiura’s $2M contract is dependent upon him making the team. I would hate to waste that $$$ on him. I hope he is released … this weekend would be good for me.

I’m excited to watch the Brewers & Royals today LIKE - Owen Miller in CF & EBJ at SS DISLIKE: Hiura at 1B & Winker in LF I fear Hiura will make the OD roster at the cost of someone who might actually contribute … Owen, Toro, other I prefer Voit if for no other reason than change of scenery & refresh for Hiura with another organization … the strikeout - 40% after nearly 1000 major league ABs is more than I can stomach I know that Owen Miller is not “the answer” in CF, but it would be awesome if he could be a bridge for us until Taylor is healthy (cross my fingers) I’m sentimental towards EBJ because he & I played baseball at the same high school … just 40 years apart 🤓
-
I love Spring Training Today - against Great Britain - Owen Miller started in CF I wonder if he could be part of the solution to Tyrone Taylor’s injury during the first month or so? I so want Miller to make the OD roster … not sure what if any experience he has in the OF

RUMOR - Brewers Still Looking for LH Reliever
edfunderburk replied to DR28's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
I don’t understand why the Brewers wouldn’t take a chance on a veteran like Will Smith. He goes to the Rangers for $1.5M. -
That would be a terrible bench defensively I certainly hope both of them aren’t on OD roster There are too many other good options … better options
-
DFA Claudio 😉

How about Marquette (Men’s) Basketball? Is there a good forum?

I come to this site as my primary Brewers discussion forum. I like the people on this board as much as the dialogue. I also enjoy these additional “other” forums - Bucks, Badgers, Packers. I’m curious where all of you go for deeper dialogue for these other teams - Bucks, Badgers, Packers. What are the best online forums for these other teams? Be sure to include a web link.

Jason Alexander - Right Shoulder - Out til late May

How many spots do we have open on the 40-man roster? -

Can Alexander be DFA'd while on extended IL? We may need a 40-man spot for an extra LH pitcher on the 26-man roster to start the year.
