The thing I’m most excited about in the new season is the massive roster shuffle … we may only keep 15 players from last year’s roster
Hopefully the change will bring new energy & several more wins
It seems every day we hear of an ex-Brewer signing with another team
Is anyone keeping track of … Who is departing? New arrivals?
Who else might be gone before the new season begins?
I love our “core” but I’m thrilled to see the changes that are being made
I’d love for Hiura & Caratini to be shipped off too
I’m for signing a vet to play 3B (Turner, Drury) or maybe a trade to acquire Yandy Diaz (as long as it doesn’t require a key prospect)
So far, I’m impressed by GM Arnold ??
I believe he could split time with Contreras & allow Contreras to DH some - especially with uncertainty on Winker’s health … no guarantee that Winker will be healthy & ready to play by Opening Day
I love Peyton Henry … I was sad when we dealt him to Miami
I prefer a LH backup C - that’s my thinking with Narvaez
I would think Narvaez would be better than Caratini & could be signed for $3M on the one year “re-set” deal
The benefit to Narvaez - if the same salary as Caratini - would be trading for a prospect or RH bat
I believe Milwaukee is close to completing its 26-man roster for 2023
I propose adding veteran Justin Turner on a two-year contract (maybe $25M) to serve as the primary 3B & backup 1B who could also DH on occasion
His experience as a World Series champion would be a boost to a young Milwaukee team
His proven RH bat would balance a LH-heavy lineup & help replace Hunter Renfroe’s solid RH bat
Adding Turner would allow Urius to become our utility IF & would allow the Brewers to ease Turang into the majors
I’m a bit weary of Drury & I’m hesitant to send prospects to Tampa for Yandy Diaz
I’d be thrilled for Milwaukee to add Turner to the current lineup which allows us to keep all our pitching & prospects
Thoughts?

I love the addition of William Contreras to the lineup as our primary C & occasional DH
I’d like to propose that Milwaukee re-sign Omar Narvaez to one-year “re-set” contract & trade Victor Caratini for prospects
Narvaez is a much better hitter than he showed last year … he could be a mentor (pitch-framing) to Contreras this season
I believe Narvaez could rebound & provide a nice LH option at catcher to spell the younger Contreras - improving his value as a free-agent in 2024
While Caratini is a switch-hitter, he could be dealt for prospects or a potential RH bat to a catcher needy team
Thoughts?
I’m all for this trade - trusting Brewers coaches to help develop this young catcher
The arms are a nice bonus
I’d love to see Justin Turner as the final offensive piece - to play 3B & 1B with occasional AB’s as a DH
If Winker is healthy & Frelick gets an opportunity - I like this team more & more
This is ?% truth
Rogers was bad too but Milwaukee would have been worse with Hader
I’m glad he was traded
I don’t miss him or regret the decision
I hope the prospects we received flourish in 2023
Singleton seems redundant. He would make sense if we trade Tellez for a RH hitting 1B … otherwise, I believe he will lose his spot on the 40-man roster.
Should we be counting on Cousins & Topa for bullpen in 2023? It seems injuries this year kept them from contributing. Hopefully both are healthy & able to add value next season.
I would be happy with one of Myers / Diaz / Drury for 3B & 1B … maybe Vasquez for catcher (hold onto prospects)
I believe Murphy & Kirk or Jansen would be too expensive trade wise
It will be fun to see who is traded … hope we keep Chourio, Frelick, & Wiemer … I’m okay with Mitchell or Ruiz being moved
I’m also okay if we trade Small
Is Wil Myers a free agent or is he still on the Padres roster?
What would a trade for the following three players require?
Wil Myers
Yandy Diaz
Danny Jansen
Great idea on trading Estuery Ruiz rather than Michell, Frelick, or Wiemer ?
Maybe package him with Huira for a RH bat (C, 3B, IB) or a solid bullpen arm who is a difference-maker
I hope they retain Wiemer simply because he is a RH power hitter
I love both Mitchell & Frelick too … if I had to trade one of them - I believe I would trade Mitchell (for a bat like Murphy … maybe even Jansen)
I like Jansen - I read that he did not hit LH pitching well & that is a huge concern with current team … I haven’t checked to verify if that is true … I also prefer to hang onto prospects & I believe Vasquez is a free agent
I would prefer Christian Vasquez (C) over Jansen … & I’d like a two-year deal with Justin Turner (3B & 1B) … I also like Payton Henry as the backup … trade Caratini & Huira … keep Toro for utility … good team! Hopefully, Guerra & one of the Angels trade arms help the bullpen.
