  1. I will never understand the Norris acquisition … he’s been terrible all year - before & after the trade. Not sure what Stearns & Arnold saw that led to the trade.
  2. Brewers are starting 8 lefties & Urius vs. Cueto today If Shaw was healthy - it could have been 9 lefties (with Escobar at SS) Good bench today: Adames, Cain, Garcia, Taylor + Pina Hoping for a win today after the untimely miscue by Garcia for the 27th & final out last night Reds remain red-hot … despite the competition Hopefully Milwaukee can get past this 10-12 game stretch where they are severely handicapped by positive COVID tests
  3. The Brewers are well-known for their positional versatility … yet, none of their outfielders - including Garcia, Taylor, or Yelich - can cover first base for them. It would be so helpful to have a couple of RH bats - Garcia & Taylor - as options there once Cain returns. Both Huira (RH) & Tellez (LH) have options & based on performance this year, neither deserves to stay on the roster over Taylor. Hopefully, Milwaukee will prepare some of their outfielders to play first base before the 2022 season. For now, I’m curious to see how costly (prospect-wise) it is to address this need.
  4. Has anyone else on the Tampa Rays struggled to hit the ball at The Trop or is it only Adames?
  5. How does Reyes still occupy a roster spot? Where does he add value? Did Robertson make it through waivers or was he claimed? Will Milwaukee potentially send him to Nashville for depth? We need a bat or two & a solid bullpen arm or middle of rotation arm soon.
  6. Here’s the article: Trevor Story to the Brewers? Really? Here’s how and why it just might work The article reads less as any sort of inside information, and more as pure speculation. The proposed offer/request for Trevor Story by the Rockies beat writer is LHP Ethan Small, SS David Hamilton, and OF Corey Ray. Personally I would make that deal in a heartbeat if it was the Rockies request, but I’m skeptical that would be enough for the best overall position player on the rental market. I too would do this proposed trade in a heartbeat … I’m not sure the Rockies would do so. I’d love to send Ray away - maybe a change of scenery unlocks his potential … I prefer to keep Taylor. I love Hamilton’s speed, but prefer to hold on to Turang. The most difficult to trade away would be Small - but again, I prefer to hang on to Ashby. Can any of the three - Adames, Story, Urias - play 1B? If so, this trade is even more appealing. And just for fun … add Huira to the trade & get Cron back to cover 1B. Short-term, that may position the Brewers for a 2021 World Series.
  7. What’s the latest on Mitchell’s injury & timeline to return to action?
  8. 60 games in a forgettable 2020 - team record 29-31 If the Brewers win tonight - team record will be 21-19 Combined record for 100 games would be 50-50 That is actually quite incredible when you consider the horrific offense from the Brewers in the 99 games so far Like so many others on this board, I’m a diehard Brewers fan - win or lose That said - they have been nearly “unwatchable” during the last few years I’m a 50-year fan & I can’t recall a better pitching staff top to bottom Likewise, I can’t recall any team having a worse offense ... & statistics support that perception Is there any way the offense suddenly becomes adequate? If so, they could make some noise - win the division - compete & potentially win the NLC Here’s hoping a return to health for Yelich & a recovery to MLB all-star play for Hiura & others who have severely underperformed I’d love to hear other perspectives from fellow Brewers fanatics Am I the only one who struggles to enjoy watching them each night?
  9. I wish this had happened in 2013 ... his stats have been terrible since 2016
  10. Like many on this forum, I’m a lifelong Brewers fan ... I started following them when I was 10 - I will be 60 this Spring. I’ve been loyal to the Brew Crew in good days & bad days. There may be a reason other than his awkward transition off the team a few years ago, but why has Jonathan Villar not been mentioned as a potential short-term 3rd base option for the 2021 Brewers? Am I missing something? Every option to fill this gaping hole at 3rd has imperfections. I remember well the base running nightmares with Villar & if I recall correctly, his poor on base average. But he seems to have fared well after his departure. Could he not offer some offensive upside and adequate defense for this season? Turner is my preferred choice - even at 36 ... but I wonder if he is even open to any team other than the Dodgers. I also like Franco. I see Villar as a viable option too. Help me understand why he hasn’t been mentioned by anyone as a potential candidate to play 3rd base for the Brewers this year.
  11. This would be fun! MLB article has LeMahieu to the Brewers for three years https://www.mlb.com/news/drafting-top-free-agents-from-2021-class?partnerId=zh-20201118-156906-MLB&qid=1026&bt_ee=BzKe7BxIDrc7nrVdpp%2B75FlQvYIKAoCxmXH9h4LXwmGippG1fDlqN6Ga%2BSGJyO9a&bt_ts=1605703302261
  12. If the Brewers can only sign one quality free agent this offseason, I’d like to see them go after someone like Marwin Gonzalez. He could plug the hole at 3B. I don’t believe Luis Urias fits there & would like to see him move to short. Maybe Milwaukee could get something useful for Arica ... maybe.
  13. Is there any way the Brewers could let Stearns go to the Mets for a couple of quality MLB players ... specifically a 1B & 3B ... or a 3B & LF if they move Yelich to 1B
  14. Why doesn’t it make sense to move Yelich to 1B? He’s a below average LF with a mediocre arm Prior to last season, he was a lights out hitter ... that skill should return next season It seems to me that finding a quality replacement for him in LF would be easier & less expensive than finding someone to play 1B So ... why not move him to 1B?
  15. That's probably not a very good idea. He’s been awful this year ... I’d rather spend the money on several decent players than one underperforming superstar Braun never had a year this bad in his lengthy contract I wonder if the Brewers were stealing signs the last few years They have been dreadful at the plate all year ... with just a few games where they hammered the ball They don’t deserve to make the playoffs with this offense I would love to have seen Braun get an at bat ... but Yelich had another strikeout
  16. I hope Milwaukee trades Yelich to anyone who will take his horrible contract even if all we get back is a mediocre Single A prospect
  17. I’d like to see if Billy McKinney has anything to contribute before the end of the year Any chance the COVID breakout in Appleton is preventing the demotion of Peterson?
  18. I think it is safe to say that Daniel Vogelbach has been an upgrade over Justin Smoak
  19. I keep checking the MLB transactions page to see if Billy McKinney has replaced Jace Peterson on the Brewers roster. Anyone would be an upgrade.
