  1. Can we bring in Sal Fasano for a stache-growing seminar? Mullets optional, but encouraged.
  2. Well, to close this can of worms i've unwittingly opened, Jorge cleared waivers, and will be traded imminently to Colorado, where I have little doubt his career will implode upon itself in the thin air. Hopefully i'm wrong, but I have significant doubts. I still say he's a better option than McClung, but mine, as has been displayed, is just one amongst many. Go Crew!
  3. "Hatredy" by Dethklok Comedy is death.
  4. The Royals DFA'd our old friend Jorge de la Rosa today. Most reports have him being in high demand, but now that we're relieved of Claudio, I say we make a stab. He's a lefty with still interesting stuff and lots of movement, fully capable of Long Relief or your occasional Spot Start. I'd be a lot more willing to pay for him than to allow McClung to stink up fill that role. Now that we're a Vargas-Free community, I'd be all for trying to spend a wee bit of money to bring him back for a year. Slim chance, but is this a feasible option?
  5. They're revoltingly Canadian. Seriously, though, they sound like a bunch of American Idol rejects banding together trying to do a Daughtry impersonation, with --and I don't think this can be stressed enough as a testament to their lameness --enough ProTools filtering, limiting, and sweeting every ounce of their "sound" that could make Adolf Hitler sound like BAry White. Overproduced, immasculine, decidedly NON-Rock swill. It's pop music with the guitars slightly turned up in the mix. It exists, because it dares not offend.
  6. A ten-gallon head deserves a ten-gallon hat. I'll miss Mench. Well, mostly his giant head, and the thrill of yelling "BIG HEAD" at him while at Miller. But it's something.

  9. Rotoworld speculates that the Mets (hopefully) threw in some money to cover Mota. Maybe i'm being unreasonably optimistic, but I'm guessing that Mota doesn't break Spring Training with the team. Oddly enough, while I don't Kendall's Offense or defense will be substantially better than last year, I -do- see him leading to a much happier pitching staff. You don't just dispose of a guy(Estrada) in this manner unless he's made of cancer and fail. And at least Kendall is slightly speedier than Estrada. Then again, so was Cotton Hill.
  10. Not in a million years. Baldelli is a 60-day DL Stint waiting to happen. Has been for over two years now. Not to mention I believe he's in the final year of a contract even if he is healthy. J.J.'s too good for this trade is even Baldelli was healthy. An emphatic "Hell, no".
  11. You want a creepy website?
  12. I haven't seen it yet; it's currently #2 in my Netflix Queue. I've heard really mixed things about it, but I'm excited to see it nonetheless!
  13. At one point I accidentally disconnected a wire near my eye. Within a few seconds, the sleep technician was in the room, having responded to an alarm, and re-connected me with fairly little trouble. I sleep on my stomach too, and my primary concern thus far has been not being able to do that once the mask is in place. I seem like the sort of klutz who would end up mashing my face into the bed and breaking my nose on the mask somehow. I'm assured that's highly unlikely, but who knows. I'll just be satisfied with a decent night's rest at this point.
  14. Absolutely. I woke up a bunch of times throughout the night, worried that i'd end up bringing the wires across my windpipe. I guess the ends justifies the means.
  15. Sure enough, two years of serious unrest and apparently buzzsaw-like snoring came to a head. I went in for an overnight sleep study, got wired up, taped, and as was feared, I have significant oxygen reduction during my my rest, and, subsequently, "severe" sleep apnea. It's a problem that has plagued several members of the father's side of my family, none of whom are particularly small individuals, and, unfortunately, none of whom ever have any contact with. I'll be going in for a couple of weeks to have the level of C-PAP machine i'll eventually be getting measured. Oddly enough, I'm greatly looking forward to this whole process. With any luck, i'll be, as has been suggested, rejeuvenated and energized on a daily basis. Hopefully to the point where I can start working out more regularly again. Has anyone else on this board been treated for sleep apnea? I've been given plenty of pamphlets and websites, but is there anyone else out there who can give me an idea of what to expect? (Other than what will hopefully be a good night's sleep!) Anything I should realize going in? One more thing i'm looking forward to: With any luck, i'll be getting the full face mask breathing device, and will be able to annoy my girlfriend to no end by becoming frank Booth from Blue Velvet: DON'T YOU LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!
  16. Faygo is a brand based primarily out of Detroit, but starting to make its' way across the midwest, primarily at discount stores like Doillar tree, etc. I have seen it at Woodman's. The Diet Key Lime stuff is surprisingly decent too. Faygo is also unfortuately used by Stupid Clown-gimmicked rap groups. as some sort communal liquid. More info, via Wikipedia
  17. Covet away, Mets fans. Prince is OUR mamma-jamma.
  18. Vargas just PWNED Pittsburgh!! K K K
  19. 8 k's for Claudio? Am I reading that graphic correctly? Cool.
  20. There. THAT'S how you get your playing time, and THAT'S how you make your money! Go get 'em, Big head!
  21. A little off track here...but the Crew signing leaves the Sox with a glut of outfield talent (much like ourselves, but with a little less sincere appraisal of "talent", alas) But, assuming the Drew deal is signed...Manny, Drew, Coco, Nixon, Pena & Kapler (maybe more that i'm forgetting) will be roaming Fenway...and you'd have to think they'd be willing to free up some Matsuzaka money out there. Assuming we can unload Jenks and one or two others...would anyone have any interest in Pena or,more likely, Coco? Both are young enough to bounce back and still have some value, and Coco is at least as good of an option as Dave Roberts, IMO. I realize i'm doing this without exploring their contracts, and if this has been covered before, I apologize. But discussing Drew or pena is a little more exciting than discussing Jenkins and Mench.
  22. Annnd we have anger. Anger I can't understand. Did somebody hit on Timmons' wife? Where is this coming from? And on an unrelated note, what in the ever-loving HELL is the deal with this Drew Rosenhaus Burger King commercial? What planet am I on?
