    Ugh...regardless of pitcher, this lineup makes me twitchy. Magruder, Hardy, Chadley and Sheets? Hardy I have faith in...sometimes.

    Let's not all wet out pants with glee jussssst yet. these are the Devil Rays, after all. Still, this is an encouraging performance. Wouldn;t mind seeing turnbow come in to slam the door, though. If nothing else, just cos' he's funny to look at.

    Yet we're starting Junior Spivey... does not compute. If there's any year to bite the bullet and give the kid his ML ABs, this is the year...before we actually begin to contend, and his offensive inexperience starts costing us games. And I contend that our pitchers likely feel a bit more secure with a glove like that behind him. Yes, we need to score runs, but we also need to give players the experience at the plate to perform said duties when it matters more.

    Hardy's putrid hitting be dammed, you just can't bench All-star caliber DP defense such as that. Hardy may one day be our Ozzie Smith.

    Actually, maybe I shouldn;t complain...the more Brenly gushes over his gritty veteran-ness...the more Likely Dusty'll want to trade for Borders and make him his Starting Cather for 2005.     I have a -real- hard time envisioning Bob Brenly at a Cake concert. Not even from an -irony- standpoint. I'd love to see Prince atone for the fielding miscue with one big, heartening stadium-clearing blast before all is said and done.
