    I understand the team's position of utilizing the available playing time while Chourio, Vaughn, & Yelich are away for guys like Matos and Jones to get a gauge their usefulness while allowing players like Luis Lara to get regular at bats in AAA. Is it time to do similar in the infield? Eddys Leonard is at .288/.358/.525 in Nashville with a history of playing all infield positions along with all three outfield spots in the minors. I say it's time to bring him up and throw him into the mix to check his usefulness as well . Bring up Leonard and Black...send down Perkins and DFA one of Matos or Jones.

    Agreed that we will probably see Tyler Black soon, but I wonder about the second part of the sentence. Am I correct that Perkins has options remaining and could simply be sent down to make the Black transaction happen easily? But I believe the other two are out of options so they would risk losing either one of them if they are involved in bringing Black up. (I think I would be ok with that risk at this point as it would create an open 40-man spot for a possible later move)

    I never get tired of saying, "A very Brewers inning." (Although my family may be getting tired of me saying it. 😀)

    I came to bring up this point exactly. I was surprised the move to open the 40-man spot was moving Zas to the 60-day IL when they have shown no interest in giving Matos a shot (even against LHP when we are struggling with our other options). Just 10 plate appearances so far. I would roll the dice on DFA for Matos (hoping we can keep him in AAA due to his pedigree) and add someone like Eddys Leonard who can play multiple positions (including some recent action at 1B for Nashville).

Don't know if it counts as a surprise, but Bauers continues to hit and thus continues to find spots in the lineup Disappointment: Koenig regresses but Zerpa picks up the slack so that few notice

    I start by saying I'm a HUGE Garrett Mitchell fan and often evaluate on my heart rather than my head when predicting his outcomes. There's just too much ceiling in there for him not to eventually "get it". Got to hope that just as we can't read too much into great spring results, we can say the same on the other end of the spectrum. Even with that all said, I expected him to be in Nashville for some consistent at bats early in the year with how his spring training has looked. Will be interesting to see how many early at bats the combination of Lockridge and Bauers get in the outfield (playing the hot hands from spring).

    Agreed that the most likeliest is Lockridge moving ahead of Perkins with a hot spring (although with the way that Murph speaks about Perkins, it could take a lot). Before the late winter trades, I would have said Eddys Leonard. The reasons: signed early in the fall (showing real interest from the Brewers), out of options, versatility on defense, some pop in the minor leagues. But, the powers that be have really spoken highly of David Hamilton so it would be a surprise to see that switch.

    Agreed. Best case scenario is he fills 3rd base well enough to start the year until Wilken or Jett proves to be ready in AAA. Also that he plays well enough to fill the backup role after the middle of the year.

    My heart and head are fighting over posting something like this. I truly believe Mitchell either does this for us this year or we lament after he does it for some other team next year.

    Agree with this take completely. (Just hoping that the result of early season 2026 is a little better than early season 2025).

    Does the move today make non-roster invitee Eddys Leonard (and his 20 HR power at AAA last year) a more intriguing Spring Training option?

    Waiting to hear money, but if reasonable this is one that I thought could fit with the Crew.

    Any interest in a flyer on Jhonkensy Noel? Power is off the charts but stats were ugly last year (and I think he out of options).

    Sung-moon Song is someone I've thought of as well. A LH bat to complement RH Durbin might make for a nice fit if the money is right. His posting period is shorter than the Japanese stars so we would have an answer within the next week.
