  1. I may have a Wolf retro I could part with, I'll double check when I get home.
  2. I may have one at home. I had some at one point but I'm not sure if I traded all of them away or not. I'll double check and let you know tomorrow.
  3. Let's see...Estrada has gotten shelled recently. We have a three run lead, eight inning, guys like Hawkins and Braddock are supposed to be setup guys. Both are well rested. Let's put in Estrada and watch him give up 3 runs in 6 pitches. AWESOME. This is yet another game I put squarely on the shoulders of our incompetent manager.
  4. If Hawkins is hurt, he needs to be on the DL. He hasn't pitched in a week. Everyone buy our stupid manager knew what was going to happen. Then he gives up back to back doubles and we don't take him out. We have a full, rested bullpen and you go with one of the worst ones in there. Estrada has now been drilled in three straight outings. Good thing we put him in a tight game in the 8th inning. Roenicke blows another one. AGAIN.
  5. Part of it could have been the fields they were playing on too back in the day. This certainly hurt their power numbers, but the outfields were pretty big back then. A lot of stuff might have fallen between guys because they had so much ground to cover.
  6. I was there last time, and the rainout was horrible. We sat there for like 2 hours before they called it, then had the doubleheader on Saturday, and that's a long time to sit at the stadium. I hope the forecast changes. It certainly could, it's still a few days away, but as of right now on weather.com, it looks bad: Friday 76 and showers, 40% chance of rain Saturday, 72 with few showers, 30% chance of rain Sunday, 82 and partly cloudy, no rain Really hope that storm moves faster or in another direction.
  7. I've been rooting against Nieves for weeks. Obviously it makes very little difference. The man has had only 5 hits since opening day and very, very rarely has hit any balls with any authority. I really don't think it makes any difference how many oh for threes he puts up at this point. We should have been LONG past that point by now.
  8. What exactly would it take for Casey to NOT be hitting fifth, behind our two best hitters? He hasn't had an extra base hit in roughly 70 at bats, and only 3 in his last 100 or so. The hits he has gotten lately are broken bat singles or grounders that find #%#*$@. It's to the point when he's hitting that I'm stunned if he doesn't strike out or hit a weak grounder to the left side of the infield. Meanwhile, Corey Hart, who has been htiting the ball well, continues to bat sixth. Maybe teams won't pitch around Prince, oh wait, the Cubs did it twice last night and Casey (again) failed in that spot. During this horrible stretch, Casey hasn't played in exactly ONE game. Whats the point of having Wilson/Counsell on the bench if they can't fill in for a slumping player?
  9. I think he was more looking for how many AB's it took to reach 3000, not necessarily their career at bats. That is somewhat helpful though. Not the fastest but probably somewhere in the middle for Jeter. Better than I expected actually.
  10. 120 plate apperances from Wil Nieves definitely does hinder our chances to win. If you consider that in his first 50, he statistically was worse than pretty much all of our starting pitchers, that's making that particular game much harder to win.
  11. I thought Braddock could get out right handed hitters too? Wasn't that we keep being told? So his logic is just stupid all around. We had the entire pen available at that point anyway. Face Pena, then take him out. Loe is awful vs LH, Pena is awful vs LHP...go figure. The biggest problem was that RR is too short sighted to see the possibility. Braddock had barely gotten up when Pena came up and probably wasn't ready. He should have been up the entire inning, they knew Pena would PH if anyone got on. Just asinine. His poor decisions all around yesterday cost us a game, not the first time this season either. The 8th inning was one of the most inept things I have seen from a MLB manager in a long time. Terrible.
  12. WE have the infield in, get a ground ball and we STILL DON'T get any out. Didn't block the plate at all and Weeks makes a terrible throw. And that's how we lose the game. This has to be the most frustrating game of the season for me. Blow our one chance to score on bad managing/stupid squeeze play, then they score a run in that fashion. Terrible call on strike three, terrible defense on Braun and terrible execution on the play at the plate on both ends. Chalk this loss up to our boneheaded manager, again. More headscratching decisions. Terrible lineup and bad pitching moves yet again. This is at least the third or fourth game that I'm putting squarely on his head. So much for being alone in first place. In a race that sure appears will come down to the end, we can't afford to be having our manager losing games for us. And so glad Casey is behind Prince still so teams can continue to walk him all the time.
  13. And that blown call will cost us a run. What was Braun doing out there? He wasn't even close to that. That almost certainly should have been caught. He didn't even touch it. Why pitch to Ramirez here with first base open?
  14. The 1-2 pitch was almost certainly a strike. Not called for the second time time tonight, and for the second time, they get a base hit out of it. Hope we get lucky and get out of it again.
  15. Sure seemed like another missed strike three call there. Which of course then results with a base hit. Most SS in the league catch that but not ours. Que up the omnimous music yet again...
  16. This game is going to royally irritate me and stick with me if we lose. This was just bad baseball and bad decision making by RR in my opinion. Starting with the lineup, the squeeze and the PH decisions. I hope that despite all that, we find some way to win.
  17. Why Counsell and not Morgan there? And why Loe again for the third day in a row? Is Hawkins even on the roster any more?
  18. Thank you. Nice job Wolf. Wind helped but seven scoreless is nice, even with that bad lineup. Now let's get Nieves and Wolf out of the game and score a run so Randy can maybe get a win here.
  19. Well Dempster is out of the game. Get DeWitt out and let's get after their bullpen please.
  20. Wow, Kotsay was under that ball and then had to come in probably thirty feet to catch it. You'd either have to destroy a ball or hit it right down the line to get it out. Just frustrating tonight, Dempster could very well be pitching great, but at least have a good approach. Work some counts, have some plate discipline. I have no idea how Wolf didn't catch that ball. It practically hit him in the glove.
  21. We've been in hitters counts all night long. Lots of guys at 3-1 and 2-0 and we've hit very, very few balls hard. Very frustrating. We've also struck out numerous times on pitches way out of the strike zone. This is the part of this team that scares me. When we can't hit HR's, we just really struggle to score any runs. Or even mount anything of an offensive threat for that matter.
  22. I hope you're right. Anyone know what the at bat total is now since Casey's last extra base hit? It's gotta be approaching 100.
  23. Well at least we got out of it. Doesn't change the fact that he missed a pitch right down the middle for strike three. Glad I was wrong. I think thats about the 3-4th ball the Cubs have hit that are likely gone if the wind isn't blowing straight in.
  24. And here it comes. Guy takes an 0-2 pitch right down the middle. Not called. And then he singles because our RF is playing super deep against a right handed hitter with the wind blowing in. And now Ramirez is up. With a 2-0 count. Que up the sinking feeling.....
  25. I'm taking the over vs. Yuni's .OPS. How about weight in ounces vs. Nieves' batting average? I'll take the over against Nieves' batting average.Count me in on the over as well. That baby would only have to be about 8.5-9 pounds. Thats certainly possible. Nieves can easily drop another few points this game too.
