  1. What would it take for the mirror? Do you have a picture of it?
  2. Just. Keep. Winning. 3 games back with 19 to play isn't impossible. But we need to stay red hot. Our next six games are must wins as the schedule gets harder in a hurry, really gotta win 5 of those next 6 and we may have something. LA and Cards about to start a 4 game set - nice because one has to lose, but one will win too. At this point though I always believe you can only focus on the team in front of you - which is Pittsburgh, catch them and then look forward. I'm honest more worried about the Phillies at this point. I hope they start losing.
  3. I was looking at this... They have 35 games left, and need 301 K's to set the record. That's exactly 8.6 K/9 the rest of the season (Assuming all 9IP games), as a team they've averaged 8.7 for the season. It's gonna be close -- what will hurt them the most is their horrible road record and that cutting down the number of IP the Brewers get the rest of the season. This can be offset if they have an extra innings game or two, or a really high K performance game like yesterday. I think they're probably going to break it.
  4. When you strip someone of something like this, do they go back and give the second place person the title? Or go back and change all those losses to wins for PSU opponents? Almost always this answer is no...unless they get tested immediately (see the Olympics). If you aren't going to change the records or you're not going to redeclare a champion, then whats the point of doing it at all?
  5. I get outs being outs, regardless of how they come, but when you strike out 46% of the time, you aren't even giving yourself a CHANCE for anything good to happen. The little flair that falls or the 12 hopper through the infield or an error or whatever. It doesn't make that much difference, but that is an alarming strikeout rate.
  6. Does anyone know any other bars/restaurants in the Milwaukee area that will be showing Summerslam tonight? The only one I know is Romines but it's pretty far from my house and I didn't really enjoy it last time. I live in Waukesha and would really prefer to stay in this area if possible...just don't really know any places to go. Anyone?
  7. Not much more to say. Just surprised it took you thing long to get to that conclusion. We do suck. It's not just one area any. These days most of the starters suck, the bullpen sucks, the hitting is either great or it sucks. Coming into today, they had already lost back to back series against the 2 worst teams in the NL, and are looking to be swept by one of them.
  8. I was somewhat ok with NBC's coverage, though I hate tape delay. Where it really got me was on weekends. Events would be going on mid-afternoon on a Saturday, that they would hold off to show until that night. Why? It's a weekend!! People are home, or at least show it on a sister network if you don't want to show it on NBC. Having to watch two other countries play water polo while the 100m was going on live or whatever it might have been I found to be very, very annoying. Especially since on a weekend, it was way, way harder for me to get to primetime without finding out who won.
  9. I'd like to see Stetter. His splits have been decent and at one point, the guy was a tough loogy. Might as well see if he has anything left and can get out MLB hitters or not. Plus our bullpen is so horrible that even if he's just average he would be an upgrade.
  10. I keep waiting and waiting for them to do something. Who exactly is going to play the minutes when Ellis/Jennings can't? Or if one of them gets hurt? We simply don't have enough guards.
  11. I have one, though it was in my pocket all game. Still want it?
  12. Yeah, they have way, way too many of those guys. Luc can play SF in some stretches, and Ersan mabye could too from time to time, but otherwise only 2 of those guys can even see the floor at the same time, and at least 1-2 of them won't even be suiting up every night. Something has to happen here. Gooden and Sanders would be my choices to go.
  13. In a contending year, I'd say yes as he is likely better than Ishikawa. On this team....not so much.
  14. How far is Soulard from downtown? Not walkable I'm assuming.
  15. You are correct about Crown Candy and Pappy's, along with the Iron Barley. Those places worth going to? They all look pretty good on TV. Yeah, I'm sure the arch is somewhat dull, but it feels like something we have to do. Of the bars you speak of on Washington Ave, are they like sports bars? Dance clubs? How many are we talking in that area? We tend to like to bar hop more than sit at one place, and I belive it's only a half mile or so from my hotel. We should be ok walking around downtown right?
  16. I second this, Olt seems to be the prospect we actually have a shot to get.
  17. Oh, well that makes sense. I don't really read the net much for WWE rumors...so Nash came back for just a couple of months at that was it? Seems odd. The WWE needs to do something though, as it's just stale and boring.
  18. Even the NWO back would be fine, but who is going to be in it exactly? The old and broken Nash? Maybe if they paired him up with someone like Barrett and/or Orton (who needs to be a heel IMO).
  19. Me and some buddies are going on our annual Brewers roadtrip next weekend to St. Louis. Sucks that the games are meangingless but thats the chance you take scheduling a trip in August, had no choice this year due to some weddings and whatnot. That being said, anyone have any suggestions for things to do in the area? We're staying downtown at one of the Hiltons. Currently have tickets to all 3 games (all night games actually) so we'll have lots of time during the day, as well as bar time after the games. Currently these are the things we have planned: Arch Tour/Ride Budweiser Tour Schlafly Brewery Tour Visiting a couple restaurants from Man vs Food That's about it. Might go check out the Clydesdales, but that's not for sure. I've heard about the free zoo, but I go to the zoo here like 5 times a year so we'll likely skip that. Looking for cool restaurants or bars or just fun stuff to do in St. Louis. We're all males, about 30. Anyone else going?
  20. I love the Punk heel turn, as he sucked as a face. But I wish they would have a major stunning heel turn. They all just seem so predictable these days. Or do something big, create some stables again or something. It just seems so dull and boring to me now.
  21. The guy has earned at least a look at the MLB level, and whats the worst that happens? He walks everyone and blows games? We have a whole slew of guys already doing that for us.
  22. If they're going to release anyone, they should start with Izturis. Period. As far as K-Rod goes, there is still a small chance that he pitches somewhat ok for a month and we can do a waiver wire trade for some low level prospect. Releasing him at this point seems like a mistake to me.
  23. I would be very surprised if Kottaras isn't gone tomorrow. And if we can get anyone to take Krod and Wolf for almost anything, we'll do that too. And Greinke of course.
  24. This should have been a 3 game sweep for the Brewers, instead we blow 3 saves and give the Phillies 3 walk off wins in a row. If these games mattered, I think I might be crying. The thing that just gets me is the walks. Make them hit their way on. I think 8 of the runs the Phillies scored out of the 10-11 we gave up blowing the leads were guys that walked. Just throw strikes. Leave the entire bullpen save Axford in Philly and bring up the rest of the guys from Nashville. Not really kidding either.
  25. The only way the Brewers should get a relief pitcher in the deal is if it's a throw in or secondary piece to a primary top prospect. If Melvin does any deal center around a relief pitcher, I may boycott the rest of the season.
