  1. What a way to lose it. Unreal. Two defensive miscues in the inning. The final nail in the coffin an inexplicable no cover at 3B and Holub blindly throwing to nobody into the bullpen. Capra bobbled and let the first batter aboard on a weakly hit grounder to 2B. Unreal way to lose.
  2. Freddy then swipes 2B as Collins takes a high corner strike. Now 1-2 count. He also goes down looking. Ouch!
  3. With the defensive web gem to save the game for more innings, he is awarded with a go-ahead line drive RBI single into shallow LF. LOVE that for Freddy. Huge knock. 9-8 Sounds.
  4. Zamora deserves a run-scoring knock here. HE GETS IT!!!!
  5. Roller goes down looking on a dead center heater. He is challenging. That was a clear and obvious strike. Man. Tough tough look there. Gotta try and foul that off at least.
  6. Cargo does his job grounding out to 1B. Mejía advances to 3B on contact. Roller will try to do the job.
  7. He gets the ground out to SS. Fantastic. There is fight yet left! Let's go, men! Dig deep!
  8. Middy gets ahead 0-2 on a slider up and in fouled well into the stands beyond RF. Ahead in the count here let's execute, Middy! Let's execute.
  9. Middendorf opens his 11th getting the ground out to 1B. One down. Runner advances to 3B. Second batter he gets a 1-2 K swinging on a fantastic slider that dips outside the zone. Gorgeous frisbee slider there. Two down now. Ol' friend Tristan Peters - who opened the 10th with an 0-2 single to RF - will come to the dish.
  10. Rodriguez gets two fly outs to end it. The Sounds are now on the verge of stranding Clarke at 2B. After Hicklen struck out, Miller flew out to RF foul territory. It's up to the switch-hitting Mejía and he sends a first pitch deep but ultimately a fly out to the right CF warning track. Man. This is certainly feeling like the Sounds are willing their ways into a loss. Clarke never moved off 2B.
  11. Both Clarke and Hicklen are just not seeing the bat-to-ball well tonight at all. They are swinging and missing on many a hittable pitch. Hicklen has now struck out 4 times as well. Just gross. 😅 He swings and misses on an outside change-up a pitch after getting under and missing an upper center cut heater. He and Clarke have looked identical in the batters box.
  12. Tying run is now to the plate in Delmarva after Rodriguez put his second runner aboard on a 9-pitch full cout walk. He's at 40 pitches now. He'll stay on and attempt to end the threat. Man, these games tonight are intense! 😂
  13. For as good as Ashby looked, Middendorf is balancing that out with the bad. He is absolutely saved by a diving Zamora to get the improbable out on a full stretch. My goodness. What. A. Play. Miller with the expert scoop as well. Middendorf was definitely on the verge of blowing that lead. Major kudos to Freddy there. That was a massive play.
  14. 1-1 count. He throws a ball in the dirt and Mejía executes a masterful scoop on a ball in the dirt right in front of him. Tie game. Middy gives up a deep hard hit gap double to the deep right CF wall. Sheeeesh. That ball was smashed. You can't have these mistakes in these innings. That's two mistake pitches. The 0-2 single to Peters was a mistake. That was a mistake pitch as well. Ugh. You tip your cap to the oppo double - that was just a fantastic piece of professional hitting on a solid pitch.
  15. Groundout to 2B. Shenton to 3B. Peters scores. 8-7 Sounds. Let me state the obvious: Big AB here. 😂
  16. Middendorf gets ahead 0-2. Wisely throws low and outside. 1-2 count. Comes high and in, fouled off. On the next pitch he gives up a reach oppo double down the LF line. Sheeeesh. Tying runs both in scoring position. That was a nice poke. Professional hit. 8-6 game. One down. Runners on 2nd and 3rd. Whewwww.
  17. Middendorf was up 1-2 in the next count. Now in a 3-2 count. Gets a shallow pop out in the fringe left CF grass. One down. Runners on the corners now. DP ball is in play. Austin Shenton is to the dish - a long ball threat.
  18. Mejía is now behind the dish replacing Navs in the 10th. Interesting.
  19. Middendorf comes aboard with that 8-5 lead and does what good pitchers do: throws strikes. He does give an 0-2 single on the very next pitch. Can't have that much center cut in that count. Mistake pitch.
  20. He looked absolutely fantastic. IF this is the 2-3 inning guy we are looking at for the rest of 2024? That man is a weapon. Those batters were simply outclassed. Plain and simple.
  21. Clarke strikes out for the 4th time swinging to end the Sounds 10th. Yikes.
  22. Capra hits a dribbler and Zamora crosses. Yeah baby! 8-5. Let's friggin' GO!
  23. Collins challenges a 0-2 count and is successful! That ball was 1.1" above the zone. That's the fourth successful Sounds challenge and further validates my beliefs this is the way. The very next pitch he rips a change-up for a double into RF and it's 7-5 Nashville. The Challenge System IS THE WAY
  24. Bitonti does not get the benefit of the call from the home plate ump on a 1-2 check swing. Looked like he held. None the less, that's an out now.
  25. DP is now set up for the Bulls. Collins advanced to 3B on a ground out. Roller just walked. Men on the corners. Zamora will try to rise to the occasion. One down.
