  1. Totally agree. Miles to go here. We haven't stacked any successes really in 2024. It's been all over the map. I am still in a classic "Wait and See" mode. We are very much still in early development here. Corniel gave up a two out double to deep left CF. He just gave up a seeing eye double down the LF line. 5-1 Mudcats. Two down. Man at 2nd. Bottom of the 4th. Pitch count at a very respectable 47 pitches in a 2-0 count to the next batter. AND they picked the runner at 2nd base. LOL. What a terrible base running error in that scenario.
  2. Mudcats just jumped to a 5-0 lead. Men on the corners now with two down. A two out single to RF. 4th frame.
  3. Really nice second inning. Fell behind and battled back meaningfully (gutsy curve in that count!). Really dominant K. Worked around a one-out double. Looked controlled if a tad uneasy. MUCH better look. BUT, we know the drill: this has to be the regular results. Has to become systemic as opposed to "Yay! We got another dominant inning! Thank heavens!"
  4. Gives up a gap double to the next batter - the Indians' first knock. He then shows the full arsenal in a brief glimpse next batter 3-pitch K (97 mph heater on the outer black). Opens the next batter 2-0. T-Rats just grabbed a 1-out poke to CF for the first run of the game leading 1-0 in Quad cities.
  5. Miz opened the 2nd with a 3-2 K on a high inside curve. Nice pitch.
  6. Corniel is reallllly picking it up over the last 1 1/3 IP. That's 3 consecutive K? or 3 of 4 outs via K. Suddenly peppering the zone and really working that off-speed low. LOVE to see it. Manfredi also had a really nice first frame for the T-Rats. LOVE to see that as well.
  7. It's apparently my version of live streaming four game dyslexia. What's funnier is I notice it like 10 seconds after posting. I'm like "Wait, did I say left CF? JFC, he's going to pounce on me again isn't he?!?" LOL
  8. OH so that's why Briceno was batting! I was like: Wait. What?! Announcers seem to think it didn't look like anything serious. Strange. He's had like no action.
  9. Just an unreal swing. I thought you were cackling because I lured you in with 'left CF'. Pretty sure that was right CF? Hard to tell the camera had no chance! EPIC talent we have on our hands. SO JOYOUS!
  10. Yophery did his best Juan Baez impression by getting picked off 2B. It was a one out 2 on scenario. AND he grabs the second out. BUT, hey now! MR. BITONTI just crushed another. My goodness. That ball was absolutely rocked. 107 mph off the bat. 421 feet to left CF. MY GOODNESS FOLKS. 4-0 game.
  11. O'Rae led off with a first pitch oppo flare to LF. Single. He steals 2B.
  12. Diaz grounds out to SS. Garcia swipes 3B and the throw is high (his 50th SB - yowza). Muddies are scoring via errant throws. Fundamentals. 2-0 Muddies.
  13. Muddies grab the first run! Garcia rips a single into RF and the RF'er misfires to homeplate up the 1B line and to the backstop it appears with nobody backing up in that location (the misfire was that far toward the dugout). Guilarte scores on the errant throw. Garcia then moves to 2B.
  14. Guilarte really having a nice start to this one - two nice defensive plays in the first frame. Now takes a 95 mph inside heater and scorches a 105 mph double to the left CF gap. Yoshwar will try to advance him.
  15. Alright now. Three straight strikes including a swing and miss at a third pitch off-speed inside and in the dirt. He gets the chase for his first K. That's four strikes in a row now as he opens his third batter in the 2nd with a strike on the outside corner. He then gets the next pitch ground out to Bitonti who charges the chopper behind the mound and hits a sprinting Corniel in stride who wins the foot race for the final out. MUCH better second frame. Let's build off this, Daniel!
  16. 25 pitches so far for Corniel. He has only 11 strikes. He does get the 3-1 pop out to Bitonti in 1B foul territory to start his 2nd frame.
  17. Three up and three down in the top of the 2nd - Adamczewski fly out to deep RF. Di Turi deep fly out to LF wall - leaping grab. Castillo ground out chopper to 1B.
  18. After a ground out to SS with the lead runner, Green, going Guilarte's only play was 1B. He gets the second out. Green then quite easily takes 3B. Corniel walks the next batter. Again, not a pretty debut inning but he can still escape unscathed. The Nats left 11 men on base last night and Guilarte makes a fantastic play in the hole after Baez dives and fails to corral the ground ball. Long accurate throw nabs the runner and it's 0-0 on to the 2nd. Luckily, it was a bigger fella who wasn't quite as speedy down the line.
  19. We have a stolen base followed by an E2. Diaz was slow to gather the high outside heater. He then threw a wounded duck to 2B. It caromed off the sliding runner into CF. Man on 3B. Nobody out. Not a good first frame for the Mudcats defensively and from the mound. Let's see if Corniel can get out of this. 2-2 count to Green. Shallow chopper to Baez. The runner hesitates. Baez makes the play at home plate and the first out takes away the lead runner. Fantastic.
  20. Corniel is not sharp early. Three straight balls. Make that four. Nothing particularly close. Lead-off aboard with zero test.
  21. Bitonti takes two balls low and inside. He then gets under one and hits a sky high pop fly to deep CF short of the warning track. Three up and three down for the Muddies.
  22. Juan Baez also swinging first pitch and gets under one and pop flies to 2B.
  23. First pitch of Game 2 at Fredericksburg and he is swinging - topped a foul down the 1B line. He also fouled the next down in the dirt and back behind homeplate. He then flailed and missed at a change-up a good 2 feet low and outside the zone. Not a very good AB by Yophery.
  24. RHP Daniel Corniel is back as the number 2 to RHP Manuel Rodriguez's #1. Hopefully, he brings his 'A' game and can avoid those random third inning meltdowns he's shown a propensity for in 2024. This is currently not an easy line-up to crack so kudos for David Garcia showing off his athletic prowess with a start in LF. IF this is indeed true - it very clearly could be a typo and Yoshwar Garcia is manning his typical position - this will be the first time David has played anything beyond C, 1B or DH in his entire Minor League career. I remain quite skeptical this is accurate 😂 Update: Def was a typo from 'Intern' - Yoshwar in LF.
  25. In Nashville we'll play an early hand of "Which RHP Jacob Misiorowski version will we get tonight?!" Let's hope the young stud has his arsenal under control for a successful and dominant brief appearance. 3B Isaac Collins is back as 1B Tyler Black crosses the diamond for game 2 (where's my new found LF'er?!?) Cargo gets his second straight start after his recent promotion and C Francisco Mejia is behind homeplate to attempt to guide 'The Miz' to better results in game 2 with Nashville.
