WE've been hearing all camp: the screen game is a quagmire. Case and point that failed screen on 3rd and 4. That was ugly. It was absolutely there for the taking too. Just not blocked up or synched at all.
-
Man, you have to love this defense as a whole stopping the Browns during every key 4th down attempt or 3rd down attempt. Incredible performance. Lots of unsung guys making key plays when they need them. Mosby there with the tip at the line.
-
Regardless of how this ends, we have to be extremely pleased with this performance through three quarters. 23-3 on the road. Essentially a game played by second stringers with a dab of mixed in starters for a few series post Love departure. Both back-up QB's playing very well. Back-up O-Line surprisingly really standing firm for the most part. Now that we are at the very end of the roster depth we are seeing a drive. But, for all intents and purposes, this is the Browns first sustained drive into the red zone.

Pratt has already flashed. How did we get him where we did? He has a cannon. And pocket presence.
-
Melton is having the antithesis performance to Dubose. Not a good game one for Melton at all. Two very catchable drops and both almost picked off.
-
Man, you can already see it. Pratt is silky smooth with the rock. Love the early glimpses. Composed. Throws a dart.
-
How about that Wilson cut and the Pratt block down field!? Let's GO!!!
-
Oh hey it's a key 3rd down Dubose snag? You don't say! BTW, pretty sure Lloyd left injured after his last run. Booo.
-
I actually am just feeling much much better overall about the defense as a whole. Once we get Edgerrin healthy and Tyron Hooper playing (both out, if you recall) they'll be plenty deep in the ILB group. The secondary looks very deep. I really really like King. Just attacks the ball. Lots to like about the current version of the group overall.
-
Tyler Davis is the Don Barclay of TE's. I have absolutely zero idea how he sticks so readily. Clearly the staff loves him - a ST guy through and through. BUT, we all know he's never really done anything of substance in the actual flow of play.
-
Man, the secondary is tackling. What a beautiful sight! Thank the heavens.
-
Keep two kickers. Too much talent at the position.
-
For a late PS addition over the final six weeks last year, Joel Wilson is looking just fine as a deep back-up TE. Nice hands. Fluid in his routes so far. Granted, limited exposure. But has looked good on his two opportunities.
-
Ahhhh yes a Royce Newman sighting with a negative play? You don't say!
-
Pretty wild how much bigger Colby Wooden looks this season. He looks so much more massive. He's put in the work in the weight room that's for sure.
-
In all seriousness, Dubose is too good to not roster lock. He is smooth. He is big. He has really good hands. It's like getting another Wicks who simply missed last year due to injury. There is a reason he was drafted. We are now starting to see it. And, we are seeing what the beat reporters have been sharing about the practices: he is flashing daily. Now he dominated a half in his first real action.

Grant. Dubose. Swagger. I'M TELLING YOU BECAUSE I'M TELLING YOU. That's my guy.
-
Absolutely. Gotta throw that at his feet.
-
I mean, he did everything in that drive AJ Dillon did not do in his opportunities. Hard not to see he is a younger, cheaper, better version - obviously, pass pro is the ? here. Also, my Grant Dubose Truther movement has legs. I love this young man.
-
Clifford's accuracy is lacking in moments but that was a nice 4th down throw to Dubose. Dubose has drawn a key penalty and now converted a 4th down. Gotta love that.
-
Gotcha. Yeah they are essentially just holding point and or biting. Tho, as a whole, I think we should be pleased with the run D. Other than an 8 yd run to Van Ness side when he was out and a couple QB Edge bites and misses the run D within the LOS has been really good all half.
-
Evan Williams would like to chat with you. I would opine, for a rook, he looks fantastic by my aged eyes. He is the guy out there playing to the ball.
-
Two very poor contain reps from Cox Jr. and previously Enegbare biting unnecessarily on RPO fakes to the center of the Line. Can not do that.
-
S Evan Williams is already flashing as an extremely active player. Always going to ball. Like what I've seen so far.
-
Jordan Akins being open by about 10 yards of openness in the flat and in all directions was a familiar look 😂
