  1. HEY now! A Tyler Black fantastic defensive stop at 1B. That a way, Tyler! He made a fantastic diving stab on a very hard hit deep one hopper down the 1B line. Realllllly athletic and clean look there.
  2. AND, the ugly gets even uglier. 0-2 count. He loses control of a heater and plunks the batter on his shoulder - high and inside to a lefty. Yikes. That would have been a Southern League record tying WP (5th) if he didn't plunk him. RHP Kaleb Bowman is suddenly rushing his warm up in the Pen. 2-0 Pensacola. One down. Bases still juiced.
  3. He has now fallen to 3-1 to the Wahoos number 9 hitter. AND, he walks him on another uncompetitive pitch. High heater. Fifth walk. Ugly ugly ugly outing.
  4. 4 WP is the most WP by a Southern League pitcher this entire season (unsurprising). The first such feat since last season.
  5. AND Miz throws an uncompetitive ball four on a heater a good 1-2' outside the zone. Yikes. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody down. We are now at 4 WP and 4 BB in just 3 1/3 IP. Not good.
  6. Miz spikes another on to start the fourth after a lead-off knock. That'll be his fourth scored WP. Now he falls to a 3-0 count. Meanwhile, Rodriguez just gave up a 1-2 poke to RF and then the throw from Castillo sails. It's a 7-4 game. Not sharp all the way around.
  7. This certainly isn't the sharpest we've seen young RHP Manuel Rodriguez. BUT, at this point, with a 7-2 lead the Muddies just need him to challenge hitters.
  8. Yophery really has such a good feel in the CF grass. Just knows how to manage that space. Constantly impressed by his ability to make plays out there.
  9. Cornielle is back out on the hill to start the 2nd. So, whatever he tweaked to end the first frame it wasn't serious.
  10. Wiemer oppo single through the defensive coverage (men on 1st and 2nd) scores Black from 2B. 1-0 Sounds. Meanwhile, we have an Eduardo Garcia hard hit liner to CF misplayed in the gather that caromed off the charging CF for an error and wind up on 3B. Valerio grounds out to deep SS and Garcia scores. 1-0 T-Rats in the top of the 2nd.
  11. Walling dub off the top of the RF wall? An angel grows its wings. All is back to well.
  12. Very fair. That slider in the dirt was really not catchable. But, you could make an argument on the high heaters. That last slider, absolutely a lazy effort.
  13. Cornielle did not look comfortable after K'ng the final batter to end the 1st frame. He hunched over and looked to walk gingerly off the mound. The Sky Carps announcers are mentioning this as well. Quite obvious he did 'something'. What that was? I have no idea.
  14. For context, folks, that's two high heaters he failed to get his mitt to. He has now failed to get his body behind two slider stabbing with his glove - at air on the first...and off his glove for the second. Pair all this with an airmailed throw into LF. A woeful outing. AND, now the homeplate ump has decided to squeeze Miz as a result.
  15. (Don't tell Clancy. That's a surefire 40-Man catcher right there!)
  16. AND, another Miz pitch travels to the back stop. A WP inside slider in the dirt. Recorded the second of his outing.
  17. Ball four high and wide. Miller airmails a throw into LF in a failed CS attempt. Sheeeeesh. Ugly sequence there. Miller once again having a rough defensive outing early.
  18. Oh man. Miz picked off the runner at 2B. BUT, wait a minute, it's 2024. Pitch clock violation first. LOL. 2-2 count now. As opposed to 1-2 and two down. Throws a slider in the dirt and it's a full count.
  19. The Muddies rally continues on Di Turi's deep RF corner line drive dub. 6-1 Muddies in a flash!
  20. It's a Mudcats buffet. 5-1 game after Pratt's shallow line drive looping single to CF. Let's go baby!
  21. Oh hey, Tyler Black misplays a grounder to 1B. You don't say? A two base lead-off error.
  22. First time through th eorder, the Shuckers bats are making alllllll sorts of negligible contact. Nothing hit hard whatsoever.
  23. Have a game Yophery. After his first AB single, he rips a deep fly to the RF warning track for a 2-rbi dub dub. 3-1 game in favor of the Muddies.
  24. Miz walks a batter on a slider outside the zone (good pitch - almost got the chase on the check swing). He sails the first pitch heater to the backstop. His second such pitch. Man on 2nd now with two down. No matter, he gets the harmless chopper to O'Rae at 2B. Meanwhile, in Salem, the Muddies have runners on 1st and 2nd with one down (Walling K looking on a dead center heater in a 2-2 count). 1-1 game.
