  1. Second consecutive outing I've watched RHP Chad Patrick and had the exact same thought: Too many men on the bases. Two innings pitched so far. He's put two on in each. Had two down here in the 4th frame and gave up a 109 mph rocket double off the straightaway CF wall. Just walked the next batter on 4 pitches - not a single pitch particularly close.
  2. RHP Manuel Rodriguez continues his utterly impressive 2024 campaign. He just completed his sixth (and likely final) inning here. It's still a 1-1 game. The young man is just so impressive when he's dialed - lotta subtle movement on his pitches. Room to fill in and add a couple ticks down the line to boot.
  3. Luke Adams just gave us an 11 pitch walk. Heck of an AB. 6 foul balls in that AB.
  4. Chirinos with the 3-run jack in the first. Now Vargas with the solo jack in the 2nd and we are tied 5-5. Let's hope the T-Rats pitching can find some flow.
  5. T-Rats uncharacteristically sloppy here early. We have a run on catcher's interference. AND Doston's error to boot. Only 3 earned for Manfredi but he has conceded 4 H and 3 BB through 2 IP. Uncharacteristically sloppy early.
  6. AND he gave up a two-run single to LF where Doston kindly misplayed it and runners advance to 2nd and 3rd. 5-4 Bandits now. Yuck.
  7. Manfredi really struggling in this outing. Went down 3-0 in the first. His stablemates gave back 4. Taking a 4-3 lead into the 2nd, he has walked a guy; given up a single; and now walked the bases full. One down.
  8. No matter. Yophery grounds out weakly on the first pitch. A the fountain of youth.
  9. Two down. 1-1 game in Charleston. Guilarte putting in a really professional AB. Eating pitches. Fouling them off. He takes the walk off the outside corner. That was a sexy 10-pitch AB.
  10. Let me make this my patented weekly: I hate the ABS post. There. That's better.
  11. AND, that's all for Junis. RHP Chad Patrick in for relief. Junis topped at 91 mph and hit 90 mph another time but absolutely mostly sat 89. Let's see what rehab outing numero dos has in store for him.
  12. This homeplate ump in Charleston is gifting all sorts of strikes. He's calling it below the zone. Inside off the zone. Just throw it near the box and you just might get a call.
  13. WAY down. 89ish. LOL. Clearly slowly working his arm back to shape. The off-speed is super zesty tho and he is badgering the zone.
  14. Walling takes a 3-2 count. Fouls off a pitch. Lines a two out single into left CF. 1-1 now in the 4th frame. BIG hit. Meanwhile, Junis looks sharp here in the 2nd frame. K'ng his first two batters looking.
  15. I swear this only happens this often on my report days. It's uncanny.
  16. Bummer for us. AND, a relief to not have to tack on two additional games in my report tomorrow, if I'm being an honest fellow. And, an honest fellow I am and shall be. I'll take an 8 game write-up over a 9. You know, for reasons.🤪
  17. It twas a classic goose snort into the shallow RF grass. We'll take it, baby! 8 Ball corner pocket!
  18. RHP Stiven Cruz has quietly been extremely effective for the T-Rats for over a month. I sincerely hope this type of relief work continues. Huge boost for his future prospects after a really tough High-A 2023. This is his age 22 season after all. Plenty of ballgame left.
  19. I said it over a month ago. I'll repeat it again here: He is an MLB pitcher yesterday. The Minor League Level is irrelevant to the tools he possesses. MLB is his next residence by my book. His stuff is filthy. Unlike, Shears, he has complete control of his toolkit.
  20. With the T-Rats leading 6-1, and with the Kernels getting roasted for an 11-1 Sweet Corn shellacking, the Rattlers are three innings away from pushing their uber-tight divisional lead back to 1.5 G. Miles to go but the end portrait after play tonight is getting clearer and pleasing to the eyes.
  21. HUGE dub for the Muddies today. They gain a game on 2nd place Fredericksburg - of Nationals ancestry. They now have a 3.0 G lead in the division. Reminder: They face 9 games under 0.500 Charleston on the road next week before facing the 2nd place Nats at Home the following week before closing out with the 8-Game (2 game make-up) series @ Columbia. Eyes. On. The. Prize.
  22. My guy, INF Jadher Areinamo: 4-for-4, 3 RBI, 1 2B (13th of 2024)
  23. LHP Brandon Knarr scoreless Rehab inning with the ACL Crew today! Let's Go Brandon <meme here>!
  24. How about the fantastic 'as it happens' call from Chris Edwards?! Man we lucked into Edwards for the remainder of the season. He is fantastic!
