  1. After nearly absolutely botching a short chopper toward the mound in hilarious fashion (Mejía saved him after he fumbled the corral and nearly face planted), White has walked the second batter after being up 0-2. He gets the fly out to CF for the second out and he throws a pitch in the dirt to put the runner in scoring position. He is now 2-0 and this is where he gave up the tying run last inning. Another weak chopper. This time to 3B ends up an infield single. Uncanny. The Mitch White experience is uncanny. It always feels like there just is no way out.
  2. AND, Isaac Collins looks at Mr. White and says: I'll Save you TWICE. He leads off with another rocket over the RF wall. Maybe even further close to the pole than Mitchell's. My goodness. He rocketed that ball. Turned on a cutter. 4-3 Sounds. We are in 'Mitch White Protection' Mode. AND, no activity in the Sounds bullpen. Rick Sweet is realllllly just throwing it in my face isn't he?😅 AND, you get a look here as well:
  3. AND, White gives up his second lead. Mead scores on a well hit grounder up the middle. A tale as old as time, regardless of the early weak contact: White is going to lose your lead. 3-3 game. Amazing. Very smart play throwing to 3B grabs the lead runner and prevents further damage. Isaac Collins playing CF (interesting) with the OF assist. Really nice throw. Dart.
  4. Mitch White getting some bad luck here in the 8th. Two pokes that have been very weakly hit - the second a ridiculous broken bat flare that beat the positioning and landed in the infield. He has two K's looking as well. Every batter a lefty so far this inning. Two men on. Two down. 3-2 Sounds.
  5. Mr. Mitchell: 2nd Long Dong. Ripppppppped a line shot over the RF wall about 15-20 feet inside the foul pole. My goodness. 3-2 Sounds. Take that, Mr. White!😅 That ball was absolutely smoked. Lefty on Lefty crime. 110 mph off the stick. Whewwwww. His second go-ahead HR of his evening. And, now you get a look:
  6. A pitch after he swung on a slider that was 3 feet outside the zone. The young man was shook. After the lead-off poke and SB, we see the blown throw to 3B; 3 K's; and the botched decision on the grounder going for the DP. Good start. Has looked overmatched throughout. Rough first outing.
  7. RHP Mitch White entered the game with a 2-1 lead. Two down. Nobody on. Top of the 7th. The Sounds exited the inning tied 2-2. Is anyone even remotely surprised? The sun rises. Mitch White gives up some runs. The sun sets. Two batters faced. Single. SB. Single. Tie game. Heaters dead center cut. I mean...
  8. Fantastic work by LHP Nate Peterson to strand both runners. He gets two strikes swinging on off-speed that dipped low and to the dirt. He gets the K. Preserves the 3-1 lead. THAT is what good bullpens do. Let's see more of that. Love it.
  9. Childers shuts the door in the 9th frame. T-Rats win 4-1. Last out was a K swinging on a ball that dipped below the zone. He kept the bases clean. Fantastic stuff for the young hurler.
  10. Yup. Pitch count reached 30. Couldn't get the chase in the 1st walk. Second walk he had clearly run out of gas. Regardless, great outing overall.
  11. Make that four straight K's for Yoho. All swinging.
  12. Three consecutive K's swinging for Yoho. My goodness how I love this young man's game. Whew.
  13. Where it landed...belt high. Upper corner of zone. Batter had no chance. Strike 2.
  14. For those of you who've never seen Yoho pitch...the movement is just absurd. Take a look at this breaking ball. How it started? Ball is at the batters chin level there.
  15. Darrien Miller squeaked a lined ground ball through the 2B side. Cargo scores from 2B (had singled a flare up the middle). EBJ (walk) moves to 3rd. 3-1 Shuckers! Let's go, gents! I neeeeeeed the Shuckers 'W'!
  16. Sound clinging to a 2-1 lead...Jeff Hem speaks through the microphone: "The Sounds have Mitch White warming up in the bullpen..." Me:
  17. Brock Wilken. Oppo jack. Yeah baby! 2-1 Shuckers. Attttta way, Mr. Wilken. Let's get back on track!
  18. It's nice to see RHP Yerlin Rodriguez didn't use the Wisconsin playoff berth as an excuse to stop putting runners on base every inning he pitches. 😅
  19. Well, my friend, let me rehash what I've been saying for over two months: It was abundantly crystal clear when he was in Carolina: he's a MLB pitcher yesterday. I would maybe be surprised if the Brewers did it? BUT, his stuff is filthy. Not a lot of comfortable swings anywhere he's pitched. Lotttttta swing and miss. Lottttttta strikes looking.
  20. Right? The best thing about Yoho coming on is it prevents his defense from botching the plays. This entire defense gives me pause tonight. To a man.
  21. Garrett Mitchell two-run jack baby. First long dong since early April of 2023. Attttttta way. 2-1 Sounds. 103 mph off the lumber. 418 feet of Johnson.
  22. That was a rough outing. AND, his teammates doing him absolutely zero favors. 2024 Shuckers baseball. Never ever easy.
  23. AND, now Smith has walked them full. That O'Rae decision compounded by the fact he gave the Trash Pandas a free bag when his starting pitcher has been extremely erratic in this outing. Bases juiced. Smith's outing will end.
  24. Exactly. Bad decision by O'Rae. No doubt about it. The runner had left before contact. Gotta take the out at 1B.
