  1. So, we have this version of Reyes early. He rips an inside heater way inside and to the backstop for a WP. The insurance run earned last inning is now in jeopardy with the lead runner at 2B freely with nobdoy out.
  2. Reyes gets ahead 1-2 on the first batter. He then falls to 3-2 after the hitter just missed a sure double down the 3B line. He then walks the batter on a clear pitch clock violation. Come on Reyes. Get it together.
  3. Melvin is pulled after 6 IP for LHP Anferrny Reyes. Fischer left 2B early but the pick-off failed as he still stole 3B. He scored on a Made ground out to SS. 1-0 T-Rats.
  4. A WP scores Encarnacion as Garcia K's on the very next pitch. Phew. LOL. 3-1 Muddies. Just as I glance ot the next screen to watch young OF Hedbert Perez K looking. Lottttttttta K's I'm seeing throughout tonight. Yuck.
  5. Di Turi has now K'd three times. Yikes. Anderson K'd looking at a gorgeous outside off-speed pitch. The ump also charged strike one on Anderson to open the AB with a heater in his shins. A bit unfair.
  6. Fischer just lined a single into RF. RF'er charged and couldn't corral so Fischer legs it into a double. That was a lefty on lefty piece of hitting as well.
  7. Hunt's high arcing curve is really working early. Gets the K looking on said curve to strand a man on 1B in his second inning of work.
  8. Let's GO! Encarnacion rips an 0-1 triple through the right CF gap and to the wall. CF'er tried to cut it off and couldn't. He makes it sliding into 3B quite easily. Love to see it.
  9. Manuel Rodriguez works around a lead-off single by K'ng his final batter swinging to end his first frame. Meanwhile, Melvin Hernandez has two down early in the sixth. He has a swinging K - his 4th of his evening. And, he's up 0-2 to the next hitter. He steps off the mound for a time out. He is charged with the pitch clock violation. 2-1 count. Doesn't matter. He gets another K swinging on a low outside change-up. Pitch count at 73. He will get the 7th inning oppo as well. That's 5 K over 6 IP of 1 ER ball. Man, what a dynamo.
  10. A new pitcher aboard and Ebel grabs his first poke a liner into shallow LF. An oppo single. Man aboard. Two down. Bitonti to the dish.
  11. Palmer has 8 K now as Payne goes down looking at a 3-2 pitch on the inner half. Ump has been calling that pitch all evening. Mudcats bats have been looking more than swinging.
  12. Wilken's first AB since June 18 he strikes out swinging on a low outside slider. He is back. And that is the result.
  13. Hernandez now qualifies for what could be his 10th victory of his season. This would be the first Mudcat with double digit wins since 2019 if it were to hold. Let's get it!
  14. Palmer has a career-high 7 K's through 4 IP. He gets Di Turi and Holguin swinging. On to the 5th.
  15. Di Turi's body language in the batters box bespeaks of a young man mired in a prolonged slump. He knows he's missing hittable pitches. The timing isn't right. The swing path is off. He goes down with a check swing sword for his second K swinging tonight. Sigh. Man, I am rooting hard for him to rediscover what made him great for the majority of the season before these last two months.
  16. Hernandez induces the weak topper ground out to the mound. That's just 45 pitches through 4 IP for Melvin. That could bode very very well for the length of his outing and the pitch count of the bullpen. Let's hope this keeps going! Meanwhile, Fredericksburg is trailing Lynchburg 3-1 early.
  17. That's a 6-4-3 DP. Just like that, two down. Yeah baby. Love it. That's the Muddies 82nd DP of 2025.
  18. First pitch swinging in the Delmarva 4th. That's a first-time lead-off reaches base to start a frame. Single into CF. Tying run aboard.
  19. Good luck, my friend! Doing the good work Papa Bear. My 7-year-old heads back to school September 3rd. On to 2nd grade. Woot woot. Our 22 yo took the year off a year out from finishing their Bachelor of Arts. Nothing like the 15 year age gap for perspective. 😅
  20. Encarnacion goes down looking on three pitches. Another filthy off-speed after he ripped a heater up and away for a swinging strike. And, Anderson is pretty much swinging at anything early so he starts 0-1. He then flies out just shy of the warning track in left CF. On to the 4th. Only made Palmer throw 8 pitches that inning. No bueno.
  21. Bitonti goes down swinging at two consecutive fairly filthy sliders down and in. Palmer has 4 K through 3 IP. He clearly has 'stuff'.
  22. I was laughing at that as well the first time through the line-up. Like 3-4 year age gaps.
  23. Hernandez works around it with a 3-2 fly out straight to Payne in CF. May have moved one step. On to the bottom of the 3rd.
  24. I think the infield ump blew a call at 1B in a bang-bang slow ground out to 1B. Bitonti made a poor throw to Hernandez who was covering. They gave the hitter a single. A better throw to the bag that actually hits Hernandez in stride gets the runner out. I see it as an error. What's new? I'm in disagreement with a Minor League scorer. It also looked as tho Hernandez's toe touched the edge of the bag. These calls mean something. Runners on the corners now with a single snuck through the hole at SS. Men on the corners Two down. The Shorebirds two out rallies continue. Muddies lead 2-1.
