  1. LHP Tate Kuehner is showcasing what I've said during his past 3 starts: don't pay attention to the ballooned ERA. Don't pay attention to the hiccup innings. He absolutely has stuff. 5 K through 2 2/3 IP in a 1-1 ball game.
  2. Boy it sure is nice having misplaced RHP KC Hunt locking down key innings for the Playoffs hungry Mudcats in the early part of this season. He has K'd 3 straight. And has 2 down in the 9th as the Mudcats lead 4-1. Meanwhile RHP SHane Smith gave us a 1-2-3 7th in relief of Shook ending in a K. 5-0 Shuckers headed to their half of the 7th.
  3. Meanwhile, Shook has already set his season high in K's with his 8th K looking to grab his first out of the sixth. He did give up a lead off flare liner single past the deep left shift up the middle. This is Ernesto Martinez Jr's first start in CF since July of 2021? LOL. The Brewers certainly love to mix it up. Lead off catchers. Start their mammoth 1B in CF. Why not? LOL. This is Shook's 9th career start he's completed 6 innings. As I've been saying for over a year: this is one of the absolutely most overlooked high-upside and talented arms in the system. You never hear about him anywhere. It's inexplicable. He has MLB caliber stuff in every way. Consistency in the zone is his major step to get to the MLB level. He's making huge strides in 2024.
  4. Take in the absolute impressiveness of RHP Manuel Rodriguez's outing: First Carolina League 7 IP start since Late July of 2023. 48 strikes of 67 pitches. He's 18 years old. Take that in.
  5. Two up. Two K's. What. An. Outing. 52nd pitch. 7 K. Lotttttta important zeroes. 57 pitches. 46 strikes?! That can't be right. LOL. He's completed 5.
  6. Shookster opens his 5th frame with another K. A swinging, whiffing, failed check swing. The man is on ONE. Love LOVE LOVE It! Let's go TJ!
  7. Come on now! Let me enjoy ONE night of Shuckers offense for crying out loud. Slow that roll!!!😅
  8. There's Rodriguez's first hiccup. A two out. 0-2 heater hit oppo for a solo jack. 4-1 Mudcats. 98 mph off the bat to a 359' distance.
  9. Man Rodriguez pitching into the 7th at 55 pitches. Goodness gracious what an outing.
  10. WELCOME BACK Wes Clarke. Wilken 2-out single. Clarke 2-run JACK. Yeah baby. 5-0 Shuckers. Highlight coming shortly. Absolutely crushed 106 mph dart into the trees over the LF wall (377 feet of distance). Naturally, Biloxi has yet to solve their camera issues. Sigh. The media issues in the Brewers system to start 2024...not a fan. LOL.
  11. We have a classic fantastic RHP TJ Shook outing through 4 IP. Shuckers lead 3-0. Shook is 4 complete with lotta key zeroes across the board. 5 K.
  12. Another absolutely stellar RHP Manuel Rodriguez start? Not shocking. He's been an absolute stud so far in 2024. Such a controlled style for such a young arm. Incredible poise and control.
  13. One thing is absolutely true of Yophery: unafraid of the BIG moments. He's had some huge hits already in 2024. You just love to see it!
  14. Yophery Rodgriguez with a 1-1 rocket over the wall for his 4th RBI of the evening. JUST tuned in. Saw a ball outside in an 0-1 count. Then saw him absolutely crush an middle-in off-speed hanger pitch for the 3-run jack! 4-0 Mudcats baby!
  15. Hicklen now hitting 0.318 with a 1.004 OPS. Tied for 1st place in SB across the entire International League. Third in OPS amongst players over 100 AB's. AND, yet, given the nature of negative regression across the Brewers offensive lineup the Brewers felt it was a good idea to promote Wiemer when they did. I don't care how you try to explain it to me, it didn't make sense. It never made sense. It still doesn't make sense. Guys who deserve their opportunities deserve them. It's that simple. Wiemer absolutely did not.
  16. Goodness gracious, Ashby 7 BB and 2 HR in 3 1/3 IP. Whewwwww. What. A. Rollercoaster his recovery road is. Sigh.
  17. In the fwiw department, Andy Herman attended the entire minicamp. And, we all know this is not an apples-to-apples thing re: Training Camp or pads etc., but he was pretty clear on a couple of things: 1) This was the most competitive high-speed post-draft rookie minicamp he'a seen since covering these (6 years). 2 S Evan Williams and LB Ty'ron Hopper absolutely showcased consistent qualities throughout that led him to immediately opine (paraphrasing) it is abundantly obvious why the Packers took them where they took them. He came in with questions. He left quite confident and very pleasantly surprised.
  18. It isn't all doom and gloom for that underperforming Shuckers team. Wilken rehabbing with the ACL and now EBJ was back leading off as a DH today. That's a big return. Let's hope we start seeing some positive regressions!
  19. OF Brewer Hicklen just added two key insurance runs on a two-run jack to CF scoring Owen Miller. 6-3 Sounds in the 8th.
  20. Man, that Biloxi offense continues to be embarrassingly bad. They are a very tough watch right now.
  21. A lead-off double off the bat of OF Luis Lara. A throwing error allowing O'Rae to take 2B and Lara to cross home. And, a single from INF Jadher Areinamo scoring O'Rae from 2B have the T-Rats up 2-0 headed to the 2nd frame. RHP Edwin Jimenez looks to stay on track to get his season back on track had a scoreless 1 H, 2 K 1st frame.
  22. Well, that stinks about the Muddies! Last season a postponement versus Down East was never made up and it actually really impacted their first half playoff push. Hopefully, no such concerns exist in 2024!
  23. There's nothing abundantly obvious whatsoever in the live action. For some reason he led off with a bunt (I never like this approach when a guy is red hot). He tried to leg it out but was thrown out easily. Perhaps he tweaked something there? He chased down a deep fly to dead CF for the last out of the 1st inning and that was the last we saw of him. No leg grabs. Maybe he's trotting gingerly after the grab? That's a stretch. BUT, obviously. he could have tweaked something muscularly to the point of pulling himself. Or something entirely different.
  24. Special Shout Out: To one RHP Blake Holub for righting his leaky vessell and pitching his best 1 2/3rd innings as a 2024 Sound. Just went back and watched his work. By FAR and away his best bullpen stint of the season. Finally managed to harness his relatively violent motion into impactful movement near the zone. I am very happy to say 'Really good stuff!':
  25. Well how about that: And, apparently Stanley's big Friday is rewarded: The other player apparently disrupting all sorts of plays was FIU's IDL Jack Daly. I believe he was also invited to the Bills rookie minicamp. And, it would appear, according to Bill Huber, the Packers also signed OL Lecitus Smith (2022 Cardinals 6th Rdr) after his Minicamp Tryout.
