    Honestly, I think I'm feeling a deep sense of relief I can finally shift my overwhelming feeling of dread. For the past week, I've been grappling with the 'how and why?!' the Brewers would acquire another talented infielder who is going to block Juan Baez from that Brewers starting SS position.

    Another staff add. This time an assistant to Jason Vrable in the WR room: Some of you may recognize that name. This is indeed the Myles White who suited up for the Green and Gold for a hot minute some years back.

    I am just catching up to the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl discourse and I have to say: TE Ben Sinnott (Kansas State) seems like a real upgrade from Deguara at the H-Back. He could be a real weapon for LaFleur and the offense.

    Their bench is a mess. They lack any meaningful depth of assets. Their new HC has a half a season to familiarize himself with the young guys (and, hopefully get them PT). Two of their former key role players are pretty much showing signs of aging; slowing down; and regressing. Their back-up Big literally is better suited making balloon animals at children's birthday parties - I seriously can't grok how utterly done Robin Lopez is. My goodness. I digress. They still have Dame and Giannis. They still have the trade deadline and Horst has proven to be a magician of sorts at this time of year. There is till hope they can pull it together but, realistically, it likely isn't this season. Too many cards stacked against them. Really screwed up the Bud fire/hire. That was a pretty colossal mistake. And, it's a shame: what Giannis is doing on a nightly basis is patently absurd. His efficiency is just historic. He's a true unicorn in every sense.

    Barry heads to Miami to be their LB coach and run game coordinator. Hafley and Packers grab former Miami LB coach Anthony Campanile - a name linked to several D-Coordinator positions recently.

    Recently DFA'd LHP Ethan Small has been traded to the San Francisco Giants for the well traveled MLB veteran known as 'cash considerations'. We wish Small all the best as he looks to find a foothold on that elusive MLB rubber.

    Fair enough. I'm pretty much just unworried but I also don't have expectations. This season has been a train wreck, perhaps, but if all train wrecks come with a top 3 record in Conference I guess I'm OK with waiting to see where it goes. We have a trade deadline fast approaching. We have a star PG clearly enduring some off the court personal issues. Middleton still isn't playing back-to-backs (I mean he played 1 but he isn't playing them). I've seen, essentially, this same Bucks team annihilate teams in the regular season and then lose early in the playoffs. If we eliminate last night's 4th quarter, the Bucks are top 8 defensively since the coaching change. I think more growth will come in time and I obviously could be very wrong. I'll wait and see where this goes. I just don't stress about the nuance anymore. I have absolutely no idea what goes on behind closed doors. What I can say is I suddenly find myself enjoying Bucks basketball again. I hope that continues.

    Well, AJax is just coming back from an injury and I'm unsure of how available he actually is at present. There may be more going on here. AJ Green was first man off the bench last night - he has been very good the last two games. Marjon has just been extremely inconsistent - honestly, it seems like he struggles with confidence? I've been intrigued, actually, by what I've seen from Livingston in the limited action he'a gotten. They're going to need the young guns to step up in some capacity that is for certain. As to last night's game, they were at altitude in the second game of a back-to-back. They are 2-20 at Utah since 2002. They were up 12 headed to the 4th. Anddddd, they ran out of gas. Pretty much as simple as that.

    That was a really good win at Dallas. Down 25 (!!) and win by double digits? We are seeing the difference already between Doc and Griffin. That was the most comfortable Dame has looked possibly all season. 30 points on 10-of-11 shots is absurd but the way in which he played was very reminiscent of Portland Dame. Nice to see the HC emphasize the two man game amongst two, I don't know, top 75 All Time players! This was a big win for the program.

    Some very important and significant Packer staff moves today. Of note here, first, is the understanding all of the relevant parties on GB's defensive staff have been given the go ahead to seek employment elsewhere in 2024: 1) Ol' QB Sean Mannion has officially hung up the cleats (was on Seattle's PS this past season) and is headed to the Packers offensive staff: 2) Former 'Defensive Quality Control' coach, Justin Hood, is already moving on. 3) As is lonnnnng time Defensive Line and Run game coordinator/coach, Jerry Montgomery:

    I second this notion, Jim. Please watch this y'all. This young man is an inspiration. Hard not to be 100% in his corner as he pushes further into his MLB career. Extremely humble, disciplined, and hard-working. He is still completely active in the Valdosta community. Let's hope we caught lightning in a bottle here! It's pretty clear he's going to put the work in.

    I mean, it seems as though they should right? That's a lot of open cheddar for the off-season buffet. AND, every move makes quite a bit of sense from the roster construction POV.

    AND, I know you know this but it is worth iterating: this wave is also much much deeper as it spans well into those Southern regions. With the advancements and investments we are seeing in Latin America, I don't think even those of us who study the system's depths regularly even know how good it actually is. Which, well, it's extremely encouraging in regards to the longevity and impacts beyond even this wave of talent.

    Basically, what I'm hearing is it's a 4-2-5 Nickel League. There are benefits and negatives to every scheme - and no scheme is perfect. We'll likely see some single high, more press man, some 4-down linemen etc. BUT Hafley is versatile and he'll tailor it to personnel. I guess we'll see soon enough. I'm excited for his presser whenever that is.

    I feel for you. I really do. Your fandom seems like it has turned to misery. I can only hope it gets better. I've been a fan of the Crew as long as you and we share a similar memory of 1982. We never sniffed success like this in the Kohl era. Not even remotely. We essentially had the one EC Finals run and that was it. If you can't accept the method by which the Brewers do things, you're going to live a fan life of perpetual disappointment. You choose 'reality' because this is the reality you choose to see. And, as you can also see, that reality is seen different across Brewers fandom. It's not right. It's not wrong. But, man, the way you're seeing things is a really hard fan burden to bear! There is a lot to be grateful for even if they aren't doing things the way you'd like and, under this ownership and management, likely never will.

    Serious question: how long have you been a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers? Do you not remember the 1990's? We are in the absolute best prolonged era of being Brewers fans. Why are you choosing to look at the team with a glass is half empty approach? We have witnessed the evolution to a top 5 Farm system in two years. We have witnessed the development of an intrepid and uber-talented personnel department do their thing time and time again. We have witnessed an awesome renewed commitment with improved results internationally. We are witnessing an organization who time and again demonstrates they are one of the most creative and cutting edge in identifying market inefficiencies. We have witnessed one of the most exciting MLB drafts ever as Brewers fans just this past season. There is just so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to. And, here you are for some reason forecasting their demise? Why, I ask you? Why would you place your emphasis here? I invite you to enjoy the ride.
