  1. Awwww, Shookster. He gives up a dead center cut heater and that ball is gone. No doubt. 6-4 Biscuits. That pitch can't happen. Ugh. That ball was hanging. A very inconsistent outing: 2 2/3 IP, 4 H, 4 BB, 4 K, 4 ER, 1 HR. he looked dominant in moments. And, then he looked entirely hittable. His up-and-down Double-A work continues.
  2. Wild pitch. Double steal. Doesn't matter. Clarke and Quero struck out at change-ups down and out of the zone. On to the bottom half. That was a big blown opportunity.
  3. Boy, the homeplate ump gives a weakkkkk high strike in a 2-0 count. He tosses pitching coach Will Schierholz in a very heated display. Whewwwww. That was a bad call. Campbell took the full count walk anyhow. Huge walk. Men on first and second. Nobody out. Wes Clarke to the dish. We're knotted 4-4 in the top of the 9th.
  4. INF Tyler Black is to the dish. 2-2. He is currently 0-for-4. Lays off 3-2 count now. Let's keep that streak goinnnnng. Catchers interference. I am unsure if that counts? I mean, it's akin to a HBP in a way?
  5. Meanwhile, lefty Darrell Thompson continues to show he is ready to take his Triple-A promotion and make a run of it. He K's the side in the 7th. And, there wasn't an ounce of meaningful contact. Fantastic inning.
  6. Noah Campbell you sexy beast. RHP TJ Shook gave up a 1-0 deep fly oppo high off the wall in LF (it's a very high wall. The yellow pad atop the railing looks to be 20 feet up). That ball popped up and sat at the base of the wall. Campbell scooped it up and threw a bomb direct to Black at 3B who laid the tag just in time. They get out one the long hard way. 4-4 Bottom of the 8th. That was a huge play. AND, that ball was off the bat of old Brewer Tristan Peters - who also has homered tonight. Whew. Have a game, Tristan. Hopefully, the Shuckers will give us a replay of that toss. It was something. Shuck finished the inning with a K after C Jeferson Quero threw out the always dangerous Biscuit Mason Auer who was caught for only the 4th time in 2023 after 26 successful SB. Huge throw by Quero and he had him by 3 feet.
  7. I will say, for as much as we all love Frelick (and, rightfully so)...you would think he'd be better as a base stealer. I would argue, he was caught stealing last night (he was called safe). He is CS tonight and also picked off 1B. Great to see the better EV and harder contact - something we've grown accustomed to - but, I would expect better base running and better jumps. He now only has 5 SB to 3 CS and now the PO. That's not a very savory line.
  8. INF Cam Devanney is healthy and feeling really good. 3-for-3, 2 2B, 2 R, 1 RBI. BA back up to 0.252. OPS up to 0.777 after his slow start in his return from the shelf. This a game removed from his game-winning two-run jack. You LOVE to see it.
  9. Really nice to see INF Luke Adams see success when his bat hits the ball. I've been saying: it's a matter of time. And, if and when this continues we are going to see many jumps on the League Leaderboard(s). 3-for-3, 1 2B, 2 R, 2 BB, 0 K. OPS up to 0.834. BA up to 0.220. Let's go, young man!
  10. That started at Wisconsin, my friend. I saw he had only his 2nd error of the season today. I had to double take. He has, as you say, cost all the teams many many runs. And I see, now, he also grabbed his third error of the day. Yikes. He must have been pulled after that? Goodness. No bueno.
  11. Extremely Small Sample Alert: Taking notice of OF Duncan Garcia. He's stacking days. 2-for-2, 1 2B, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 Sac, 1 SB. After two years of improving play in the DSL, he has hit the ground running in the early going of ACL play. 20 AB's, yes but 20 very good AB's.
  12. - RHP Cam Robinson has cleared waivers and been outrighted to the Biloxi Shuckers. Let's find that 2022 form, Mr. Robinson! - 1B Jon Singleton has been DFA'd by the Milwaukee Brewers
  13. How about those DSL Dos?! They win their second in a row by a 15-0 margin! Woot woot. They outhit the Braves 14-2. They scored runs in the first six innings book-ended by 5-spots. It's a very FULL Box Score. Enjoy!
  14. Ah yes the games of summer: the DSL Dos just scored 5 in the first. No hits. A DSL special: walk, walk, hbp, wild pitch, walk, error, wild pitch, hbp, wild pitch, walk, line out, wild pitch, walk, K, fly out.
  15. He's here. He's there. He's every friggin-where. He's Jim Goulart. I always appreciate your ability to offer us those far-reaching tidbits and media bytes. Who else would bring us the news 2023 Wisconsin pitching coach, Drew Thomas, is heading to the UCF staff for their inaugural Big 12 season in 2024? Thanks for the report!
  16. Another beautiful Saturday for Brewers Minor League baseball. Let's get some 'W's'!
  17. And, this was after he was traded to Boston by the Oakland Athletics for ye old 'cash considerations'. He was not on Oakland's active roster but was playing for their Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas (PCL). Since the call up, a day after Boston's acquisition, Reyes has seen steady action in 23 Games where he has registered 59 AB's. After tonight's 2-for-4 performance in the 9-hole, Reyes is hitting 0.305 BA, 0.706 OPS, 6 R, 4 2B, 9 RBI, 3 BB, 7 K, 1 S, 1 CS.
  18. Highly touted, and highly paid 2022 signee, Venezuelan 18-year-old Johan Barrios is starting to heat up some at the dish. He's 2-for-2 on the night. He hit his 2nd 2B. 1 R. 1 RBI. Meanwhile, INF Juan Baez just knocked across a pair. 8-3 ACL Crew here in the bottom of the 6th frame. 17-year-old Mexican RHP Manuel Rodriguez has been doing the heavy lifting in the middle innings. 3 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K, 0 ER.
  19. OH Brice Turang you heartthrob. He works that 2-2 count with many many fouls. He take the pitch over the wall in RF. Sounds walk it off with a two-bagger. Glorious nectar!!!! Sounds WIN. That's his 3rd homer since his option. Sounds have won 4 in a row. They've won the series. That was not an easy pitch. He had just fouled off several high heaters. He takes off-speed low and in and just golfs that puppy out.
  20. Sal Frelick comes through! He ties the game with a line drive single to shallow CF. You love to see it baby. Eddy Alvarez to the dish. Let's Go, men!!!
  21. OF Michael Reed lines out to 1B and is now 0-for-8 in the series. Dorrian stays at 2B. Frelick to the dish.
  22. LHP Ethan Small gets out of it without further damage - tho, he was down 3-0 on his last batter; got it to 3-2; and was hit hard but the liner went right to LF Michael Reed who corralled it low to the ground as he knelt forward with both hands on the glove. Whewwww. 3-2 Sounds will try and take it in the bottom of the 10th frame.
  23. OH boy, more poor fielding by the Sounds pitching staff (Abner last night). Small charged a first batter bunt, cutting in front of a charging Abraham Toro from 3B, and spun and sailed the through over Dorrian at 1B allowing the runner to score. He can't take that play away from Toro. That was a bad mental error - all his momentum was taking him toward the 3B line. He had to charge full speed and spin at full speed and try and make that play. He has to recognize the play is Toro's.
  24. Navarretto K's swinging. Two down. Mr. Patrick Dorrian will try to win it. 0-3 on the evening. He's batting 0.132 (I believe?) against lefties. He goes down swinging. If there is a kryptonite to the versatile Dorrian it is definitely lefties. LHP Ethan Small will try to keep Manfred's man at 2B. 2-2 and we're heading to Xtras.
  25. Naquin aboard. He lays off two lefty sliders to get that free pass. One on. One down. Navarretto at the dish. The Sounds are trying to match their best record of the year at four games over 0.500. This would be their 6th walk-off. All 5 previous walk-offs came in April.
