  1. This is easily the worst I've felt about a trade in the Stearns era. What the hell is this?
  2. Here is a small example of it. Often times can happen over larger periods of text, but I couldn't find one when looking for it.
  3. Anyone have an issue with dark mode sometimes having random texts be in an all white block fill, which matches the text color? So it's impossible to read unless you highlight the text. This is on desktop. Seems to happen when people copy and paste certain things but I am not exactly certain.
  4. If the tweet circling about Mitchell, Frelick, Wiemer is true, that is really fascinating. Leaves Lutz and Peters in AA. Valerio can also play the OF some. Joe Gray hasn't performed particulary well but wonder if they might force the issue there and promote him?
  5. Definitely think the deadline will impact some of these moves but hope Frelick is at least upto AAA. I wonder if they don't find someone who they think can play CF at the MLB level that Frelick could be an option there later in the year if he performs for the next month or so at Nashville? Certainly a glass half full point of view on Frelick but I think he'd be one of those guys who could come up and be ok at the MLB level. Interested to see how this all shakes out over the next few days.
  6. Was in Appleton tonight. Jarvis looked great, noticed his windup is almost an exact mirror of Lauers from the right side, kind of interesting.
  7. Tell me any player that has had any sustained success with those underlying metrics. I’ll be waiting
  8. I dont know, from this discussion I just think you don't really know what you're talking about when it comes to evaluating players and how they end up at their statlines. Let me ask you this. What has Hiura improved on from 2020 and 2021 where he was unplayable besides "His obp and ops"?
  9. Okay. Hiura - 81 DRC+, 43%K rate, 412 babip (Over 500 vs RHP!) Adames - 95 DRC+, 27%K rate, 233 babip. If you can't see the difference in quality of hitters and their luck this year then there is nothing to discuss.
  10. My red flags go up when you can't distinguish between the quality of hitters Hiura and Adames are.
  11. Why what? It can't be hard to understand that if you can't make contact all that often you will have less ability to impact the game in a positive way. His outcomes when making contact this year have been extremely lucky to this point. Hes basically been Joey Gallo with better luck, and you can go ask a Yankee fan what they think about Joey Gallo right now. (I'd be in favor of the Brewers acquiring Gallo for CF but thats a different discussion lol).
  12. The point is the OPS that he has is not sustainable given the underlying metrics (K rate, BABIP) vs RHP. You can look at the production that he has had all you want, but he is very likely a below average hitter when you give him a large sample size at the major league level. This was seen in both 2020 and 2021!
  13. Some of the Hiura opinions are wild to me. Send down Caratini in the middle of a division race to make room for him? He has been their 4th most valuable position player via fwar in only 50 games and has a 117 wrc+ at catcher. Not to mention Narvaez has been in a large prolonged slump. Hiura has a 43% krate with a 512 babip vs RHP, I'm sorry but the results he's had to this point vs RHP were not sustainable at the major league level.
  14. Middle name according to his MILB page. Also his Instagram name is “Jacksonbryan Chouriolugo”. There’s my reporting for the day.
  15. Awesome, I'll be in Appleton next weekend for sure.
  16. Obviously Chourio is all the hype right now, and he should be. But I'm starting to get really excited about Frelick. Seems like one of those guys that is just going to hit no matter what. Turning on a high FB from a LHP like that doesn't hurt either.
  17. Might be a not popular opinion, but I could see Frelick skipping AAA altogether next year. Will have an obvious roster crunch in OF there it seems as pointed out, and his profile (batted ball skills/good defense/speed) doesn’t seem like it would be necessary to play in Nashville. Who knows though
  18. In BA's lastest midseason update, Chourio moved up to #20 from #34.
  19. I saw somewhere (can't remember where) that he has an oblique strain.
  20. Wiemer hits 2 HR as well. He is having some season.
  21. This is my first post on this forum, but I have been lurking for a few weeks and happy to be here. Inspired by a discussion in the 9/12 Link Report regarding the amount of OFers that are on the path to be starting next year at AA including: Carlos Rodriguez, Je'Von Ward, LG Castillo, Joey Wiemer, Joe Gray Jr, Garrett Mitchell, Korry Howell, Tristen Lutz and Jesus Lujano with Sal Frelick likely to be there a little later in the 2022 season if he keeps on this progression path. I would say that it is highly likely that front office looks to deal at least a little from this group of prospects going into next season. Might be a little bit of a contrarian take, but I would look to capitalize high on the seasons of Wiemer and Gray and swing a deal to try and replenish the pitching depth across the system. What ideas would others have?
