  1. It's pretty fun for me, as I get to sit back and just enjoy the games. I'd prefer no sweep in either direction, though, as that will significantly hurt one of the first place teams, neither of which has a large enough lead to start giving away multiple games in a row. But the Twins can *probably* weather a sweep better, as the rest of their division appears to be wildly incompetent, though I'm still betting that the White Sox make a run at some point this season.
  2. Hard to say. He has looked good but he lacks a reliable third pitch. His fastball is decent but not good/great. Ultimately, I think he ends up a reliever, where he could shine by leaning more heavily on his very good breaking ball. But his track record is so short right now that while he has somewhat impressed me, my trust in his long-term efficacy as a starter isn't there yet.
  3. Don't underestimate the Twins bullpen. Seriously, it has been comically bad, though with the rest they've received lately, the Twins might get away with only using a few of the guys, which protects them a bit. But if Winder makes a short start - which he very well might - expect to see several innings of the VERY soft underbelly of that bullpen, which hasn't been bad lately, it has been straight-up atrocious.
  4. The moveable object meets the stoppable force: the back end of the Brewers rotation versus the Twins bullpen. May the least incompetent group win. ?
  5. For sure. Are they just using the ASG as reason to keep Corbin fresh and get him a lot less work over a couple of weeks?
  6. Yeah, the Twins went on a tear about a month ago where they absolutely lit up the Jays, Yankees, and Rays starters but then lost four of five against Detroit. Minnesota’s offense is very good but has been prone to laying down and dying against pretty bad pitchers.
  7. As a fan of both teams, I've never understood the (mostly manufactured) hatred. I lived in WI for a long time. I've lived in MN for a long time. Then again, the teams I actually "hate" are few and far between. That's just not how I really form a fan experience; I want a certain team to win, I'm not particularly interested in a certain team losing. Obviously, there are divisional rivalries where one team winning means a competitor loses and that's doubly beneficial to the team I want to see win. But outside the division, the only team I come close to "hating" is the Yankees because everybody not from NY should hate the Yankees.
  8. The first Slam at AmFam was incredible, it was great to meet @DuWayne Steurer and @hawing AND some awesome Brewers fan gave my girls their first MLB baseball!
  9. We'll be tailgating starting at 1pm in the Yount parking lot (look for the giant Brewer Fanatic flag). All who come by are welcome to complimentary brats, beer, or soda and lively Brewers discussion. If you're able to swing by, please do so and introduce yourself!
  10. I wasn't able to catch any of the game tonight so imagine my face while seeing this box score...
  11. This is basically where I'm at. I'd trade Hader and possibly Woodruff this offseason, targeting guys who are either in the high minors or on the verge of the high minors. If I don't like the returns on Hader and/or Woodruff, I do the opposite. I push all the chips in and risk it all in 2023 by acquiring multiple big bats. But I suspect the return on someone like Woodruff would be massive and the return on someone like Hader will be very good if you can get either the Dodgers or Yankees interested. They're the type of teams that would pay big for Hader just for exclusive rights to negotiate an extension.
  12. While you make good points, don't compare anyone to the Royals. They are not a well-run franchise and almost backed into their brief run of success. This is Dayton Moore's 16th season as GM, if I'm recalling correctly. He has... three?... winning seasons.
  13. This topic was growing its own legs so I split it into a new thread.
  14. It’s the Rays calling card. They’re a damned good team. Annoying, too.
  15. Oh, it’s definitely trending upward but it lacks the desired depth and many of the most intriguing players are still a couple of years away. I think a few smart trades now could either lead to a retool on the fly or a very short rebuild. Personally, I’d prefer trading some guys this off-season or pushing the chips into the middle for 1.5 seasons and then preparing for a long rebuild. Just kinda riding it out and working in the margins is my least desired process. I watched the Twins do that for literally a decade of postseason appearances with not even a series win to show for it.
  16. By the way, if any of you like in the MKE area, be sure to check out our event on July 9th. We're offering a steep ticket discount, it will be a great time!
  17. I was finally able to flip on the game just in time to watch Rowdy step to the plate so I’m taking credit for this.
  18. This got me thinking so I looked it up. The 82 Brewers had a 121 OPS+. That's ridiculous. To compare to the modern day, the 2022 Yankees - the best in baseball - have a 117 OPS+ playing half their games in that shoebox of a stadium.

  20. We have weekly draft updates, you can find them here: https://brewerfanatic.com/search/?&type=cms_records1&tags=mlb draft 2022&search_and_or=or On draft day itself, we'll be launching an entirely new section of the site that will be updated in real-time with Brewers picks.
  21. Yeah, it just seems weird to have a noon start, local time on a Wednesday. Then again, maybe the Rays assume no one is going to come either way so may as well get the game over with.
  22. Anyone know why the start time is so early? I mean, it’s great for me but still really weird.
  23. Eye Black does a ton for this site, I saw there wasn’t a thread up today so did it. I doubt anyone will mind if others occasionally post lineups and whatnot to help out.
