  1. I didn't realize Wong had been that brutal defensively. I knew he wasn't playing well but... ouch.
  2. We'll be updating scouting reports manually. I'm currently considering how to implement some sort of link aggregator into this but I'm kinda leaning toward that being a 2023 feature. I need to move toward the trade deadline now - MLB mashing these two events together is great for fans, really hard on content creation - so I'm not sure how much editing the tracker will receive from here on out. The articles and videos will populate automatically as BF writers write about these guys more often. Yep, the Pending target means they are available to sign but have not. It turns green when they sign, at which point a dollar figure will be added. If they opt not to sign, it turns red to indicate the pick was lost.
  3. The problem with Sano is that while he SHOULD be very good against lefties, he's not. He doesn't have significant platoon splits which makes for a pretty bad platoon partner.
  4. This is the day of the draft where I nod along and as players are announced, I mutter "yep, that's definitely a human being that probably plays baseball".
  5. On something of a lark, I just rolled this out on Twins Daily: https://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-trade-rumors-targets/ Now, this works a lot like a forum thread but the added bonus is that the first post is embedded in the index page (and the page is permanent) so you can just scroll through the trade rumors without clicking. If you want to click into the post, you can comment there like normal. If you want to use the forums, anyone who creates a new trade rumor will have a thread posted in the forums prefaced with "Trade Rumor:". Is this something we might be interested in here? I think having a readily-available page that can be scrolled without clicking has a lot of appeal but if no one is interested in using it, that's okay, too. Adding a new rumor is just like creating a thread and it cross-posts to the forums automatically. I think this might help automatically distinguish some of the different forms of threads we get here and any user might spot a tweet or a post on MLBTR, just hop over here, and repost it for everyone to read. Is this cool? Is it something we're interested in trying out for the coming deadline?
  6. All that stuff will fill out automatically as we tag these players in future front page articles and videos.
  7. If anything, I see teams moving away from power somewhat unless MLB changes the rules to prevent ever-increasing velocity. In the coming generation of players, there’s going to be a lot of room for high contact, OBP players.
  8. Oh, I agree the rule should be changed. That was just an example of the umpire actually following the rule as it is written.
  9. This is, in my opinion, a clear example of a justified balk call. Drake twitched toward the plate, which is clearly a violation. That didn't happen the other night.
  10. I think the umpiring is probably better than it ever has been in baseball. But it's still flawed in significant ways and I think the balk rule is a glaring example. I don't even really blame the umpires, the rule itself is so nebulous and often about "intent", which is hard to objectively rule on. There are obvious balks. We've all seen them. Then there is what happened the other day. I'm not sure how the rule needs to be fixed but it's pretty broken right now.
  11. I don't know, this is a tough decision. Baseball has probably become a little too homogenized nowadays and outliers can succeed but some swings simply won't translate to major league velocity and movement. I don't know enough about swing mechanics to even venture a suggestion and will defer to the trained professionals in the development pipeline.
  12. This is an all-new feature that we created from scratch. How do you like it? How could it be improved? We kinda fly blind when creating this stuff the first time and feedback is really helpful because after looking at something for hours on end, I kinda get tunnel vision and miss ways it could be better. https://brewerfanatic.com/milwaukee-brewers-draft-picks/2022/
  13. No problem! https://support.google.com/android/answer/9075928?hl=en
  14. Hard to believe that a win today earns a split in the series.
  15. Can you screen shot it for me and post it here so I can get a visual of the issue? Thanks!
  16. I was on a date night with my wife last night so I didn’t get to watch any baseball but what the hell was that call? I hate the balk call 90% of the time. It’s wildly unpredictable and stupid.
  17. First, welcome to the site! I don’t think so, mainly due to the nature of position players versus pitchers. The problem with moving Hader is that closers are particularly fickle and teams know that. Tomorrow, or four days ago, Hader could have lost his stuff and paying big money for that volatile of a position is not something teams will do. Can Hader be traded for a slew of intriguing prospects? In my opinion, absolutely. And that’s where the Brewers can shine with their development pipeline.
  18. He would. All or nothing. The Brewers need a Luis Arraez - even a poor man’s version - badly. Even a guy that gets on base 35% of the time and hits .280 would change this lineup quite a bit.
  19. The way the Twins get their runs is vastly superior to the Brewers. The Twins have batted the likes of Gary Sanchez ninth in the order because their rookies are mashing. We just witnessed a 24 year old walk off the Brewers while OPSing about .900 over the past month.
  20. It should be pretty satisfactory to split the Twins on the road when the Minnesota offense went against Alexander and Ashbury. On any given night, that offense can drop eight against really good starters. To split without using Burnes or Woodruff is an accomplishment.
  21. Yep, two decent teams in bad divisions. The Twins can mash, the Brewers can pitch (particularly if Peralta comes back healthy). Both teams are flawed in significant ways.
  22. Better than mediocre but quite a ways from elite. But I think the Brewers have a better path to improvement as the season progresses.
  23. Ryan has been VERY good this season, the good version of Jax showed up, and Duran is elite. The Brewers lit up lesser pitchers yesterday, is is about what I expected.
  24. Ump had some iffy calls in the later innings though on both sides. Miranda friggin’ crushed that ball. A split is a pretty reasonable outcome for both teams. They’re pretty equally matched.
