    i'm thoroughly amazed that this IGT is already up. I think we have more posts already than we did half way through the game yesterday! It's good to see everyone in good spirits. That series was just plain awful, and it's good to get it behind us. By the way, we have gone 1-5 on another road trip this year and bounced back just fine. Win the Washington series and split or better with the Padres and we are still in good shape.

    Nothing like giving up on the team that you are supposedly a fan of. A team that is A. very young and still getting better B. is missing 3 of its top 6 starting pitchers, and C. still has 2/3 of a season left to play. Should i have used the blue font? That's about as polite as i can be in that situation. It really makes me mad to see those types of comments. I haven't even seen the main page yet, but i'm willing to bet the sky is falling.

    Here's where we temporarily prune BF.net of all its excess bandwagoners. At least the bandwidth cost should go down a little this month(?). Before the year, i figured this would be a learning year with Prince adjusting to the majors. He has done well, the hitting is fine. But when you take out Sheets, Ohka, and Helling, it's only a matter of time before the pitching implodes. We have been witnessing that for a while now.. Very inconsistent. We still aren't out of it (like the Pirates), but we're not exactly in it. I don't care, though. It's fun to watch this team most of the time, and it'll be something to reflect on in a couple years.

    this is truly the way to watch Pirates broadcasting.. i'm at school right now and there are no speakers hooked up. I'm glad that i won't have to listen to 4 more innings of how great Castillo's catch is and how he is reinventing the 2nd base position and the art of making catches look harder than they are.

    It might have been a very spectacular play, but not because he made a good catch. He dropped the ball and got lucky that it bounced off his chest a few times. That's a play that Junior Spivey would make without leaving his feet. Luck is definitly on Castillo's side this week.

    i realize this series is already a complete disaster... however: 1. We are still only 1 game under .500 and there is 3/4 of the season to go. 2. Eventually, Sheets and Helling WILL be back. 3. We are not exactly gunning for the worls series this year with our lack of experience on the defensive side of things. It is for these three reasons that you CANNOT make any trigger happy desperation moves for better pitching. This is NOT the time to make a deal. Not when we have no leverage. You want to trade Carlos now? fine, but we're not going to get much back for him. We'll get a starting pitcher, but one that has already hit his mediocre ceiling. We just need to ride this out. Is this not a small sample?
