    a good baseball game.. nothing you can do when Schmidt is pitching to his ability. Thank you to Dave Bush for pitching a great game as well. way to fight back at the end, great slide by Jenkins to keep it alive. get the split tomorrow, then on to LA.. i'll be there friday and saturday, thank god.. finally some live brewer baseball for me.

    They better not black it out... i need to watch this game at work... As for walking bonds... if i have gathered ANYTHING from Dave Bush over the first month, it's that he does not seem like the type of guy who would give into Barry Bonds. He'd hit him for no reason before he would walk him. That said, we need to employ the Jason Bay approach from the first series of the year. Just nibble.. if he doesn't swing away, he can go to first and we will let pee-hands try to drive him in.

    Billy got hosed on that at bat, and i mean HOSED... but either way, he should be swinging on that last one... on the other hand, we get down on Billy for chasing bad pitches and he takes a good look at a ball and gets rung up... unbelievable.. this game should be either tied or close to it..

    that's not what i would call incredible... there are many words i have for that blunder and incredible doesn't exist on that last... today's game just makes no sense... sheets implodes sheets gets a hit astros get a run on an unforced out to end the inning.

    That is why 9-run rallies that fall short by a run are better than hitting 5 homeruns in one inning... rallys you can build on.. homeruns.. nowhere to go but down.

    Top of the 8th, 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd and we are up by 1 with a full count. This game decides the wild card. Who do you want throwing the next pitch. Capuano or Sheets? And no, throwing pickoff moves until you get 'em is not an option.

    i will just say this about run support. For Ben's career up until 2004 (first half anyway), we have had a horrible offensive team. He would go 6 starts and have less than 10 runs of support. We'd lose games 2-0, 2-1, 3-1.. and so on.. Cappy really just emerged last year and has been the benefactor of some great run support. While wins do count, certainly they do, the pitcher cannot control what the hitters on his team do.
