  1. After a week of pretty poor moves, this is a positive for the Brewers as the risk of losing him by claim worked out as he wasn't claimed and he agreed to stay. I think a Caratini/Severino tandem next year means they can focus limited resources on other positions. (they probably talked to Severino before the DFA to gauge his willingness before doing it so him agreeing to stay was likely anyways)
  2. The AAA Reds show up just in time for the Brewers to right the ship. (worked on Friday)
  3. I'm guessing 99.9% of those other instances didn't involve the extension occurring after a season ending injury and before the player was in game shape again.
  4. I think that's a good point and I agree. Also, what message does that send the team when you start pinch hitting so early in a game. It smacks of desperation and will that feed the poor morale post deadline?
  5. We're approaching a must win game tomorrow. Not so much for the standings, but a loss could put morale in the clubhouse on life support.
  6. 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth? Oh you optimist!
  7. At least with the '27 Yankees it would have been a quick death. As it is this season is a slow bleed.
  8. Good thing the NL has the DH or the Brewers would have given up more HR tonight. 3 HR to certifiable lightweights.
  9. oh you're in the right spot for minor league play. Or is that bush league.
  10. I guess it's true, our middle reliever trades at the deadline are having a bigger impact than the Cardinals 2 SP additions. Unfortunately, the impact is nosediving into the ground.
  11. over/under on the Brewers being 3 games out of the last WC before State Fair ends? I think Over
  12. I would prefer if the Brewers next clubhouse meeting would involve firearms and standing in a circle...
  13. Raise your hand if you were born after 1982. At least I have that... Next beers on me!
  14. Who would have thought Kuhnel and his >5 era would be unhittable.
  15. I don't think it's effort he's questioning. There have been lots of examples of GMs with short contracts making decisions for immediate impact that end up hurting the team long term because they are focused on short term gains.
  16. It's a numbers game. When have we added 4 bats at the deadline (2 seems to be the max).
  17. 8 outs. C'mon, a 3 run lead should not seem this insurmountable. Just don't make out! Let the next guy do his job.
  18. I don't think strength of schedule will play a role in whether the Brewers make the playoffs as a wild card team.
  19. Maybe they should have tried Daniel Norris as a hitter.
  20. Joey Votto standing in line at the SSA ask another patron, hold my beer, picks up a bat and hits one out.
  21. Yeah, PH for Hiura before he gets another hit and makes you look bad.
  22. You have got to be kidding me! 123 AB and NO homers. 3 AB tonight, 2 HR.
  23. I could live with the walks if it wasn't Walk, HR or Walk, Walk, HR
  24. LOL. After the 4th pitch I was sitting there sending brainwaves to Keston: He's gonna throw you another curveball. He's gonna throw it low and away.
