    OMG, I can't believe this needs to be explained. My exact quote was "Our team as constructed now can't compete in October with these two teams, meaning the Dodgers and Braves. Of course an inferior team can win a game against a superior team on any given day, but if these two teams, as constructed now, played a seven game series or even a five gamer in October, who would you take to win? I know who I would put my money on.

    These are the same guys that were thumping for Yelich to be in the All Star Game yesterday. The only way he should make it to Philly is if MLB implements a Ground Out to Second Derby.

    Probably not much. This is what happens when you bill someone as an ace when in reality he's a #3 or low end #2. I don't know why it was so hard for some people here to admit that.

    I don't know the exact rule in what constitutes a triple in that situation (how far you round second) but if the idiot shortstop throws to third instead of home with a ten run deficit, they got Harper dead to rights. The throw home is the bigger question. He had no shot throwing him out at home. If it's a tie game, no way Harper tries for three.

    Yeah, you can't criticize Murphy for playing matchups if you also were one that criticized Counsell for doing the exact opposite. ("Hader's our 9th inning guy", "x is our 8th inning guy.")

    And I would suspect the same will happen this year as well despite the organization's lip service of being serious about winning a World Series.

    Whether it's three runs or three hundred, it still translates to 0-2.

    Statistics, and especially advanced stats like XYZf123 or whatever, give a false illusion of indisputable, scientific proof, allowing people like you and your ilk to present manipulated facts in a way that deceives people more convincingly than a simple lie ever could. I'd actually take a supposed antiquated stat like ERA over XYZf123 any day, which the Braves have a lower one over us. And right on cue, our supposed way better pitching loses us the game.

    Oh, I see. You're one of those guys that likes to use advanced stats to make things say anything you want them to say. As the old saying goes, there are three kinds of lies. Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Even if our pitching was better, it's certainly not wayyyy better like you said it was. I'll just go by the tried and true eye test. Unless the Brewers plan on using a two man rotation in October, I'll take the Braves pitching staff over ours every time.

    We've only scored 16 more runs than them coming into this game. As for the pitching remark, I'm not even going to justify that with a response.

    It's the seventh inning stretch already? This game is moving along quite quickly.

    Because both of the Braves and Dodgers are clearly more complete teams than us and don't have as many holes as we do to for us to win a best of five, much less a best of seven. This isn't hard.
