    If Hiura is halfway back to his rookie year performance, he and McCutchen would make a helluva platoon. But Counsell doesn't even seem to know that Keston has reverse splits, or that McCutchen is abysmal vs. rhp.

    What I learned: Don't give up on a ball as a fielder. I don't know how that's not an error.

    Brewers' farm teams are now 33-14, with a winning % above .700. I'd guess there's somewhere to find out how that compares to other organizations (without adding them all up), but I don't know where.

    At this point, we could pay half of his salary through 2023, and there would probably be no other team that would take him. For nothing. That's a problem.

    Cain had a decent year last year. The question is how many games would he be healthy for.

    What I don't get is why don't they bat Yelich 2nd? Or first? His obp isn't bad, but he doesn't have any power anymore. Historically he's batted best 2nd in the order. We're committed to paying him $188.5 Million, counting this season. Why am I reminded of Rime of the Ancient Mariner?

    Does Counsell know: 1) Hiura has reverse splits (6 of his 9 PA are against lefties, which he doesn't hit well)? 2) That Tellez doesn't really have any platoon split? 3) That McCutchen sucks vs. RHP?

    There is absolutely nothing surprising about a player hitting first or fourth, depending on the handedness of the pitcher, and depending on the other guys in the lineup (who might have different sorts of splits). Some guys walk a lot more against one handedness and hit for more power against the other. What is surprising is McCutchen batting higher than 7th against RH hitters. In fact, he should probably be the 5th OF on days when a RH starts.

    I guess there's no definition of AAAA, but for me, there needs to be two things: 1) multiple years at AAA, and 2) at least intermittent time in the majors when they actually played.

    sorry to see Howell go for a replacement-player catcher. Looking at the rankings members made, everyone had him between 13 and 24 (except one outlier who put him at #2 in the system). So, we probably didn't lose much, but I'd suggest we should always have a AAAA catcher in the system who can step in for a while.

    Westbrook hadn't played 2b for 5 years, when he played a total of 12 innings. He put up some decent #s in the minors. Does he have a chance? Turang, Feliciano, and Small are not like the others in that lineup.

    It's used to increase Testosterone and sperm count, off label, for men.

    When guys on the 40 who don't make the 28 get sent to the minors, it has a ripple effect downstream.
