  1. prediction. You'll be calling me to ask if you can come and visit him before the month is out. prediction. I never see you or him again for the rest of my life.
  2. Prediction - Either Carlos Lee, JJ Hardy or any other Brewer "snaps out of it" today...and by snaps out of it, I mean gets a hit. Go brewers.
  3. Last nights late rally was an above average first baseman away from not happening. Believe me, I care, but I was beginning to wonder when there was not a game thread created yet.
  4. yeah they do, only this mind thinks about a minute faster...
  5. The Tigers dodged a bullet on Juan Gonzalez, but they are gonna take it in the rear on the Magglio Contract. I think the thing that will fix Carlos Lee is a road trip. I wonder if he isnt pressing a bit in front of his new fans. Are we in Houston on Wed or are they here?
  6. After watching Jenkins struggle vs. LHP the past 2 seasons, plus his flu-bug, I can live with Magruder getting the start today, but please Ned, not Cirillo AND Helms as well. That would be a reason for Brewerfan.net nation to start drinking the kool-aid.
  7. I stand by my statement that if Chris Magruder and Wes Helms are our best chances vs. LH pitchers that this team is going to be in deep trouble.
  8. I thought when we had an "everyday" lineup that it would be the lineup we used everyday. Not this Magruder/Hall/Cirillo/ Moeller crap. It seems like everyday one of those scrubs finds his way into the starting lineup. It annoys me to no end when we play all those crappy reserves. ...and I was joking about the all RH lineup. If Ned throws those guys out there tonight I pretty much won't be watching/listeing. If Helms/Cirillo/Magruder give us a better chance of winning than Overbay/ Jenkins/ Branyan vs. LH pitching then we are in for one very very long season.
  9. I want Overbay to get a day off today. Odalis Perez simply has owned him Done, and done. new revised lineup for todays game... Clark - CF Spivey - 2b Lee - LF Miller - C Helms - 1b Cirillo - 3b Magruder - rf Hardy -ss Capuano - p Go get 'em boys.
  10. Well, looks like we are 11 games into the season and the super reserver Of Chris Magruder may be making is 2nd start and his third game in a row in RF as we are facing a lefty, Jenkins has been stinking, and Jenkins is sick. Good thing upgrading the bench isn't that important because those guys "never" play. How's this for getting of the offensive Schnide? Clark Spivey Overbay Lee Miller Cirillo Magruder Hardy Capuano Ah yes, a 6-9 that would strike fear into any little league pitching staff.
  11. Was Clarks error today a big deal? Definitely. Is Brady a liability in CF? Far from it. Casey hit it on the head. The play is huge today, because the offense is/has been so bad. But it was uncharacteristic of him and he should be fine out there this season.
  12. I hate to admit it because I really like Clark (and there is much to like about his offense right now), but he is not helping in center at present, perhaps because of how deep he plays. Yesterday two balls dropped in front of him; today he was a principal in the defensive fiasco that allowed Pujols to score. Last week v. CHI he should have made that play deep in the left-center field gap late in the game (I believe on Sunday). The one bright spot on the team so far and people seem to be going out of their way to nitpick Brady Clark. The guy isn't and hasn't been advertised as Andruw Jones or Jim Edmonds in CF, he was simply advertised as better defensively than what we had last year, Scott Podsednik, and so far I'd say he has been. That ball against the wall in Chicago was tailing away from him quite a bit and he was running full steam into a brick wall - cut the guy some slack. If the offense 2-8 wasn't absolutely pitiful he'd be the early front runner for team MVP.
  13. Whoops. I guess 3 hits isnt enough to win a game. Who would have thought...
  14. 1) First and Second with less than two outs with Chad Moeller up to bat and not bunting made me enraged Brian - I was more upset that he swung at the first pitch and didnt try to work the count. IT seems to me that if he bunts, and they pitch around Hardy, you are left with Bases loaded, one out and SHeets up. That isnt exactly ideal either.
  15. Is it really good news to have Sheets back for 4 more years? Afterall, that means for more years of games like today, where Sheets is Sheets and some scrub with 5.00 career ERA is Cy Young. Do we really want 4 more years of that? Junior Spivey, your NL strikeout leader through 9 games.
  16. The bad throws that Sheets made in the 6th did not make a bit of difference, he lost the game the inning before when he gave up a run.
  17. Anyone else notice both Mark Grudzielanek and Yadier Molina make a point of trying (and succeeding) to hit the ball the the right side of the IF with a runner on 2nd and no outs?? Grudz went through for a hit and scored a run and Molina's set up another run. That, folks, is what professional teams do, or rather, winning teams. What did we do with runners on 1st and second and no outs? Moeller swung at the first pitch, hit a tapper to 3rd, Jenks ran into a tag and we were out of the inning.
  18. Laid a little cash on Sheeter tonight at -116. Go Brewers!
  19. There is no way Wes starts at 1b today. These guys had two days off last week and have day off on Thursday. Overbay better be in the lineup.
  20. Those minor league number are horrendous. Could we get a similar line for those 3 teams opponents?
  21. Welcom aboard PirateScott. Believe me, Brewer fans are just as happy about missing Oliver Perez as you are about missing Sheeter. I'll take my chancs with Davis, Capuano and Santos, all three had good first outings, and there really is only two guys in the Pirate lineup who scare me, Bay and Craig Wilson (Thor). I think the Brewers have a great shot of winning 2 of 3.
  22. Everyone here has permission to continue over reacting until first pitch tomorrow. Anyone else just feel like if we can play another game you'd feel a lot better?
  23. hence the problem with carrying 4 OF and 8 IF. Once Magruder is spent you are stuck with what you've got out there.
  24. Blaming Brady Clark for todays loss is like Blaming Brett Favre for the loss to the Eagles in the playoffs. In both cases it never should have come to that. It was a tough catch, with the wind blowing in from right center and the ball was naturally tailing away anyhow. Clark is not the goat. Jenkins on the other hand I will not stand up for.
