  1. At this point Id trade position players in this order... Hardy, Weeks, Hall, Hart, Fielder, Braun. I dont include Cameron or Kendall because they have no value to a rebuilding team. If Lincecum is available he has to be considered. Maybe we take him along with a bad contract like Dave Roberts, or an old guy like Omar Vizquel. Hardy, Gamel and Jeffress for Lincecum and Vizquel perhaps. I dont know if JJ has any value though, although he was an All Star, right?
  2. I've got one of those in my office. She basically still has a job for two reasons and two reasons only. 1.) we have to much work and it would waste too much time to retrain someone to do what she does (it isnt rocket science, but it would take someone a month or so to get to where she is) and 2.) everyone is sort of afraid of her. Ultimately it isnt my job to fire her, she works for me but my boss is the one who has to make the call, if it were up to me she'd probably be gone by now because it will only get worse.
  3. I think we should recognize that 1.) technology changes and gets better quicker than we can imagine. So maybe last year the technology didnt exist to trace a cell phone to a pinpoint location, and maybe today it does. 2.) Government agencies are usually the last to jump on a technological advance, especially something like this. I doubt they upgrade their systems, or overhaul them everytime there is a new development because as fast as things are obsolte it would cost tax payers millions. 3.) we dont know if Dane COunty has this ability - or how good it may be.
  4. Start building a trade package around Mat Gamel to acquire Joe Blanton maybe?
  5. Yeah, that looks right. At first glance I thought it was just for one game. So that's just face value. Clearly not looking to make a profit, just move them. Wonder if he posted something similar here and got no bites.
  6. Nobody is berating him. If he can get 160 for those two seats, more power to him, it just goes to show how silly all of the "take back Miller Park" promotions are in regards to Cubs games. The Brewers could force every ticket buyer for a Brewers/Cubs game to buy a 20 game season ticket package, thereby eliminating all Cubs fans from buying single game seats and yet the park would still be half full of Cubs fans. Why? Because Brewer fan would rather turn a $25.00 ticket into $100.00 than go cheer for the Brewers and keep Cubs fans out, and because Cubs fans are willing to pay that price for that ticket and Brewer fans are not. Imagine Brewer/Cubs NLCS. It would still be a 50/50 split, maybe even MORE Cubs fans, again, becuase Brewer fan is willing to sell his now $250.00 seat to Cub fan for $1000 and Cub fan is willing to pay it.
  7. You cant tie the contract to the injury. Signing that contract didnt increase the chance that he would hurt his quad. When the contract was signed there was a certain amount of risk in regards to injury and with all position players, that risk if very small. I doubt this injury has any effect on his value down the road, it isnt career threatening and it will not have a lasting effect beyond the healing period. The only way the injury is of any concern is if because of this injury he becomes worthless and not able to perform up the level he is being paid. I still think these Tulowitzki/Longoria deals are great for teams, and so do GMs, that is why the Players Union does not like them.
  8. Oof. Cubs fans will always be at Miller Park for Brewer/Cubs games because for the most part Milwaukee fans are cheap (for the most part) and are willing to sell their tickets above face value to Cubs fans to make a little extra coin. I mean two terrace tix for $160??? The reason he isnt trying to move the tickets here is because Brewer fans wouldnt pay that kind of cash to sit in the nose bleeds.
  9. This Smoltz injury just reinforces my belief that Sheets pitches for the Braves next year.
  10. No way he refuses the assignment and gives up his salary. So there is a half way decent chance we see him back in Milwaukee, which I have no problem with provided he goes to AAA and works out his problems.
  11. How were they police supposed to be dispatched to a 911 hang-up from a cell phone? I guess Im not up on the technology, but I dont know how they would know where to go if it was a cell.
  12. They are pretty much reacting just like we do everyday. So and so stinks, the manager is an idiot, release Turnbow...
  13. That looked gruesome. They just got to the injury on the replay.
  14. What's next, consensual sex with 10 year olds? Huh?
  15. Yeah I even got Heidi Klum in there.
  16. I just came here to do that after watching the game.... http://www.wildbluffmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/klum_seal_01_header.jpghttp://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/Mike_Cameron/mike_cameron1.jpg
  17. I also went to UW-L, and just about every year one or two kids would end up in the River. It isnt a murderer, it is drunk guys falling over, only when they do they fall into the River and they are too drunk and disoriented to do anything about it.
  18. If seats 23 and 24 were unused, were supposed to be yours, and were right next to 19-22, why didnt you just sit your extra 2 people in those seats? Of is that what you did?
  19. ha, I also had a 1988 Ford Escort, got it my junior year, got my only speeding ticket to date in it, drove it to freshman year at Platteville, it died during the first Christmas break. What a pile of crap. lol It was a pile. I actually had the 1988 1/2 version. Blue wagon. The passenger door didnt open from the outside and the backdoors didnt open from the inside. We affectionately referred to it as the "deathscort" Just awful.
  20. http://uk.gizmodo.com/landspeeder.jpg I did a Google Image search for 1988 Ford Escort, and this is what I found. I dont remember it hovering, but everything else looks right.
  21. Maybe they could get the Pirates to take him? They bailed them out on Matt Morris. Wasnt he signed the same year as Juan Pierre? What are they smoking on the West Coast?
  22. The two suspects go by the names of "Al Cohol and Ira Sponsibility" They should be considered armed and dangerous and approached with great care. What a joke and a waste of time, money and resources.
  23. If the Brewers were lying and they didnt believe Sheets would be ok to pitch Tuesday they would have sent Parra down so Bush could be ready to fill in if needed.
