  1. I use a prescription of Allegra, lately I have been waking up and within 30 minutes or so start sneezing, I pop one of those and am set for the day.
  2. This sucks, he was my second favorite pitcher. I hope he is back soon.
  3. The idiot just took Milwaukee yard, to most likely win the game. Maybe we can trade for him, maybe they'll take Braun.
  4. Two years ago Bill Hall lead all shortstops in HRs and his numbers compared nicely to Jeter's and he was younger. Are you mad because he isnt Jeter? You seem to not like Hall. What do you suggest we do? Options are 1. PLay him 2. Bench him in favor of Counsell 3. Release him 4. Trade him, but only if a deal can get worked out with another team, if not, choose one of the three listed above.
  5. Those two look nothing a like, poorest effort so far trwi7. Fail. The rest of the examples look like they could at least be related to the other guy...
  6. QUite frankly the weekday day games annoy me quite a bit.
  7. I dont know if I can get around the cuss filter, and I dont want to, but if you ever watched the channel Bravo! there used to be a reality show where 5 guys who were not heterosexual came to make over a straight guy. It was called something like "Not Hetero Eye for the Straight Guy" He is/was one of them. Get my drift?
  8. Ned Yost http://www.rightfieldbleachers.com/uploaded_images/Ned-Yost-702475.jpg Dubya http://www.product-reviews.net/wp-content/userimages/2007/08/george-bush.JPG
  9. Ryan Braun looks like.... http://www.ryanbraunfan.com/images/Home/ryan_braun_20.jpg http://www.lasplash.com/uploads/2/Emmy_Suite-5.jpg Jai Rodriguez. In fact I just watched an interview of Braun with no hat on and out of uniform and until they showed Brian Anderson interviewing him, I thought it Rodriguez.
  10. It is if you don't live in milwaukee Wow am I ticked. I looked at the station guide and forgot the game was on WMLW and FSN said it was playing some other crap at 6:00, then a bunch of "Best Damn Sports Shows" after that" I then got mad and remembered it was on WMLW, but couldnt remember why. So I went off and did something else. Cut to - bottom of 9th, me deciding to read the entire game thread to find out why the game wasnt on tv tonight, only to find this post, then turn on FSN and boom - there is the game. Gosh am I ticked, why does it not say the game is on if it is on here in Oshkosh?
  11. My wife teaches there, PM me if you want some more info that what Im gonna spew out here... Ok, here goes. UWO is a unique campus. It is the third largest campus in the State behind Madison and Milwaukee. The student body make-up is a bit different. The reason it is the third largest is because it has the largest non-traditional student population in the state. Ive talked to my wife about this and I cant remember exactly what she told me, but Oshkosh almost specializes in meeting the needs of the non-traditional student, and that ups the student body population. The campus is nice, located a stones throw from the Fox River and close to downtown Oshkosh, which is trying its best to become something but the conservative nature of the city's residents is doing its best to keep all business in strip malls near the highway - but that is another rant of mine altogether. Another interesting note, it is the "greenest campus" in the state in regards to environmentally friendly, and in fact might be the greenest campus in the country, but I could be mistaken about this. The big programs there are the Media, TV, Film, which is fantastic, and nursing. Good athletics, especially track and field and baseball. Jarrod Washburn, Jim Gantner, Terry Jorgenson amongst others as alumni. Like I said, feel free to PM me or ask follow ups here for more. I didnt attend school there but did grow up in Oshkosh and have recently moved back so know a lot about the city. What department are you in?
  12. Did your wife meet you on the job? j/k. I wish my kids were old enough to go to games ( and actually watch them) because I always loved baseball card day.
  13. 1. Nobody calls him an All Star. I dont recall any time where I have seen someone refer to him as All-Star Bill Hall. 2. Your friend's boss went to a fantasy camp and asked a "returning coach" about Hall and the coach just replied to some stranger that Hall was one of the dumbest players he has seen?? I have a really hard time believing that someone associated with the Brewers would say that about one of their players to some schmo who was at a fantasy camp. 3. You are taking an anonymous fantasy camp coach --> your friends boss --> your friend --> you as gospel? Really? 4. Hall is an average player, and average 3b, I agree, so why are you saying that he sucks all the time? Last season, in what was a down year for Hall he ranked 17th among qualified 3b in OPS. That is just a shade below average (as there would be 30 starting 3b). This season, despite his struggles he is 18th. When, not IF, he ups his average to around .250 I would expect Hall to be an above average 3b, somewhere in the top 12-14 range.
  14. Or Hall getting walked (yes, Hall getting walked) and then Hardy popping up the first pitch he sees. How about working the count a little bit?
  15. The ball hit to Hardy/Hall was slow...but so was the guy who hit it. That was a sure fire 5-4-3 pending good throws of course.
  16. Rickie was playing in. There's no chance he could've gotten to 2nd and then made the relay to 1st in time. That is why playing the infield in there was dumb. Even Schroeder new it. With Helms up and Hanley ramirez at 3b, you basically are hoping for a rocket hit right at someone. Really bad defensive adjustment by Yost.
  17. Im not that hard on Yost, but playing the IF in there was just dumb, especially with Helms up and Hanley Ramirez on third. It was just really really dumb. Then the ball hit should have been a 5-4-3 DP to end the inning.
  18. Moose Haas was a good choice, but in the end, he didnt make it. I went back and forth on Harper, but he only played for the Brewers for 2 years and his 1970 season was so far and above the rest of his career I felt it wasnt representative of the player he was.
  19. yeah if the thread is tagged. Ive done that before with threads. I'll find the tag about, say, all star games, and post in a "dead thread" where the title isnt reflective of what I am talking about, but the subject matter is all star games Consequently, nobody clicks on it and the thread ends up on the second page in a few hours and few if any knew I posted something worthwhile. That is the only complaint I have. If we all had title editing capabilities this wouldnt be a problem, but we cant, because that would cause mayhem.

  21. We should really just have a coach thread, game thread and player thread. Is there anything else to talk about? All joking aside, I see what you mean Dr. Wood. Combining threads is an inexact science that I am sure our wonderful moderators are working on all the time. I can see its usefullness, but it also lets some good discussions get lost if someone has to bring up an old dead thread about Craig Counsell just because once upon a time someone else started to talk about Counsell. Often times the thread title no longer reflects the combined thread or you have 2-3 different conversations about the same topic going on in the same thread. There are issues, but I think its getting better, a little better.

  23. Sorry David! You and Geno are more old school anti Selig ownership negative, which never really bothered me since it was probably warranted. You guys were the old guard (and have since lightened up since Melvin and Attanasio have taken over) while the new guard seems to have unrealistic expectations of the players to never slump, never have back to back 0-fers and never let in a run after the 7th inning. I apologize for lumping you in with that.
  24. That isnt a bad point, especially in light of the fact that Yost wont bat Braun 2 and Fielder 3. What Yost is essentially saying by batting Kapler/Cameron/Gwynn in the 2 hole is that after the first inning he prefers a line up of Kendall-Weeks-CF-Braun-Fielder, with Fielder batting a jaw-dropping 5th. I can't give Yost all the credit for this move because he hasnt made the requisite move with Braun/Fielder to truly benefit from Kendall batting 9th rather than the pitcher.
