  1. I guess I cannot see how the Mets can be seen as NL Contenders with Nelson Figueroa and potentially el duque and Vargas in their rotation. Figueroa wasnt good enough for our rotation when we stunk.
  2. Blasphemy! Nothing is Yost's fault. Our pitchers need to learn how to get batters out. How's that.
  3. My first chance to chime in on tonights game. From what I saw the score should be Reds 0, Brewers -2. The defense strikes again. Fielder cant handle a ground ball, Bush gets a pop out to short right, Hart catches it like it is batting practice, tosses is it back in flat-footed about 10 feet up the line, past Kendall, past Bush, off a bat and into the stands. 2-0 Reds. Come on.
  4. Could she play for the US team? If not, then why the gripe? Also, I rarely see people here getting upset when a foreign born player who has US Citizenship decides to play for the US in the Olympics.
  5. Ok, who do I call and complain to that I cant watch this game tonight? I have Time Warner Cable.
  6. No. But I do remember a debate about whether we should trade Fielder for Duke. I think it was close, but BF.net chose to keep Fielder. I also seem to remember a similar discussion on a Pirates message board. I believe they said they wouldnt trade Duke for Fielder.
  7. Not really. I dont want to see him mow through our lineup.
  8. I wont boo. So he left for more money. Big deal, every player would have done the same thing. I dont think he is an elite closer so I happy the Reds will be on the hook for the next 4 year with him.
  9. Id rather pay Braun 5 million a year over the next 6 years than 385k, 460k, 675k, 9mil, 12 mil, 15 mil.
  10. Ah yes, clutch hitting. The undefinable statistic.
  11. The Tigers are six games under .500, should they be worried? Well, I look at like I did when I was school. The sooner you fall behind in your work, the longer you have to catch back up. If I were a Tigers fan Id be ticked, but not quite ready to throw the team away.
  12. Hey cool, I dont have time to d'load it now, but I will definitely give it a listen. It looks like you like Ryan Adams (from the sig) so I at least know you have some good influences.
  13. Ive said it before and I will say it again. The Brewers had a chance to resign Ben SHeets this winter, or last season, or more specifically, the day AFTER Chris Carpenter signed his deal. Carpenter signed something like a 5 year, 65 million dollar deal and I thought the Brewers should have offered the exact same thing to Sheets. Of course, the catch is that SHeets had some annoying injuries at the time, (nothing concerning his arm or shoulder (unlike Carpenter's injury past)), but that is the risk a team like the Brewers might need to take to keep a guy like Benny. The brewers were in a perfect place to get Sheets for a HUGE discount if they wanted too, but they passed, presumably because they were worried that he would get another earache, or tear a freak tendon in his little finger, or some other freak injury that is not more likely to happen to Ben than to any other pitcher. It isnt/wasnt my money and I am no GM, but none of Ben's injuries scared me, just like none of Geoff Jenkins's injuries scared me in the early 2000sl, because Geoff suffered weird/freak injuries (dislocated ankle, broken thumb, seperated shoulder) and sure enough, Geoff has been plenty healthy since then. Now that we have had our chance, and let it go by, Ben is as good as gone. 5-6 years a 16-20 million a year. Book it.
  14. Seems like many who are disappointed are Terrace Level season ticket holders with a 20 game package. Why not get a 9 game package and get seats in the Loge Level behind the plate, then supplement another 3-5 games in the Terrace level as you see fit? I have been to the Terrace LEvel once, just to see the view. I have never watched a game from that level but after looking at the field from up there I wouldnt want to. I would imagine that there is less competition for the Loge or Field Levels as well.
  15. I dont know. Maybe it is the fact that they are in the terrace level? My dad has been a 20 game season ticket holder since 1999 and his seats have gotten better and better, but he is on the field level. We are now about 18 rows behind home plate on the field level. We started down the first base line quite a ways.
  16. The thing about the postgame show on Friday, is that the Brewers won their home opener by 9 runs, and people were calling sincerely ticked off that the roof was closed.
  17. Nothing like looking at a beautiful skyline while you are too cold to move, clap, cheer and your beer freezes. Even 50 degrees in the shade in early April is damn cold. I keep my windows and doors closed when it is 50 degrees outside too. Why? Becuase Id rather not freeze my tail off when I have the option to be warm and comfortable. They are nuts to build a stadium without a roof in Minnesota and it is a no brainer to keep the roof closed for all of April.
  18. Sparky has gotten a little better. He used to be so pessimistic about the Brewers and not know anything. He seems to have actually learned a few things in the past season or so. Maybe some stuff is rubbing off from Tim Allen. He's still Sparky though, which means he is grating most of the time, so...
  19. Ok, listening to the WSSP post game show today and it turned into a rant (by the callers) about the roof being closed today. Are these people crazy? I spent many games in County Stadium in April and even May when it was sunny and in the 50s and I was FREEZING, especially in the shade (which Miller Park is almost all of by the way). I even remember one game with the fans in the shade (1st base side) having winter coats on and stocking caps and people in the sun (third base side) with their shirts off. It was probably 60 in the sun, 40 in the shade. We put a roof on that place so people will know that the games are going to be played, and not rained out. But also so people can go and ENJOY the game comfortably!! I am watching the replay on FSN right now, and people are having a blast! They look comfortable, the players look comfortable, meanwhile, in Chicago, people are in the sun AND FREEZING! The put a roof on Miller Park so we as fans can count on watching the game comfortably. It is pretty clear that on a day like today (high of about 52) that the roof needs to be closed. Any objections? I know that there will be...
  20. Fire Joe Morgan Chimes in, twice. http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2008/04/xxx.html http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2008/04/vintage-dusty.html
  21. bottom line, Bush isnt much different than Suppan.
  22. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif I love it, since I work at home. Problem is, I live in Atlanta, so unless I pay for a TV package, I won't be watching the games after the Extra Innings free trial is over. Extra innings almost has me hooked. I havent looked into the price yet, anyone know how much it is for the season?
  23. I agree, and I dont understand it. The Brewers play 15 of their first 25 games in the afternoon. What the heck is going on?
  24. I think you underestimate Knight's appeal.
