  1. Sabean has to be in the bottom 5 of GMs in all of baseball.
  2. Man, it is just too easy to walk around speaking in cliches. I do love FJM.
  3. Prediction: Eric Gagne gets booed on Opening Day in Milwaukee.
  4. this is an April Fools prank, right?
  5. It wasnt working for me at all.
  6. Weeks with a K and a pop out? That sounds like the Weeks we know and love.
  7. It appears that the Braves opened up last night at Washington for the ever popular one game series. I dont think I have ever seen this before outside of a makeup game in the middle or end of the season. Anyone know the rationale behind this? From what I can tell the schedules say that Washington is taking on Philly while the Braves are at Pittsburgh
  8. I agree, I would have applauded politely. Booing was totally in appropriate...but you know the fans, "they paid for their ticket, they can act however they please"
  9. Isnt ESPN showing games all day? I havent had cable for years (I finally do now) but I thought they showed a 12:00 game, a 3:00 game a 6:05 and a 9:05 on opening day. Id just watch those games straight through if I took the day off. It isnt the Brewers, but it is real baseball...finally.
  10. Yeah, I do. Remember when Fielder started 2006 something like 0-12 with 8 ks? Remember when he got a standing ovation? That was classy. Also, if you have a problem with bringing back Turnbow, which you seem to do. Why not go down to Attanasio's office and boo him? He was one of the people who made the decision to make him back and he has more money than God? Why not boo Melvin whenever you see him? If you do something that you are passionate about, why not boo a supervisor who makes more money than you if they fail to meet an expectation? Booing is lame and classless in almost any kind of way you frame it. I pay a lot of money to go see a game, I would like to not have to put up with people who sit around me and boo all night.

  12. I think I remember them busting this out last year as well. I was almost sure it was slobber, but I think we got definitive word last year that it was in fact slopper.
  13. I disagree. You pay the ticket to watch the game. If the team is dogging it, or if a guy isnt throwing strikes and the manager wont take him out, fine, boo. But just to boo because the other team scores a run or because a reliever comes on with the bases loaded and gives up a hit is ridiculous. We are sure to lose 70 games this year, probably more. Even in the games we win there will be bad plays, or even normal plays that turn out badly for us. Why boo when they happen? The other thing that Milwaukee is slowly becoming known for is booing the heck out of former players, no matter the circumstances. Heck, the Brewers could cut someone and he could get signed to a minor league deal by the Marlins, make his way back to the bigs, be a bench player and if Brewer fans remembered that he played for the Brewers, he would get booed. Fans booed Wes Helms WHEN HE WAS ON OUR TEAM on opening day...BEFORE HE HAD A CHANCE TO DO ANYTHING! I think the culture of booing has gotten out of hand and I would like to see normal people attend games and not be obnoxious drunks, like many are.
  14. One thing is for sure. The people of Milwaukee/Wisconsin love to boo. They love to boo almost more than they love to cheer. Im not for giving guys a free pass, but come on. Ive been at games that people boo like crazy after a 2-out walk.
  15. Oh well, stuck indoors and comfortable in the summer, able to close the doors and comfortable in the spring. I know the Brewers err on the side of closing the roof rather than have fans get wet or be cold, but it sure beats spending every other inning in the bathroom to warm up, like I did the last time I was at Wrigley.

  17. They have to play outdoors in the Midwest and Northeast eventually. what is the difference if it is 40 and raining on april 1 or april 11th? The weather in April sucks for half the country. Really, in the NL teams like Pitt, Philly, Wash, NYM, Chicago, and Colorado should have domed stadiums, it just makes too much sense. I think Minnesota is building a stadium with no dome. Oof, what a mistake. They havent watched an outdoor game in Minnesota either football or baseball in what, 40 years? They have no idea what they are in store for. Places like St. Louis, Cincy, and SF should be ok in April, Washington might also be a swing stadium, as I know it gets nice in DC much earlier than in the Midwest.
  18. I think praying for your childs safety and health is wonderful. Example: "Please God, let the doctor's cure my son/daughter" Also, I would think that the little girl suffered quite a bit over the past month and last few days. Terrible.
  19. These people should be locked up. They never gave their daughter a chance. The other children are in grave danger, IMO.
  20. Well, Caddyshack II would have to be up there.
  21. Yeah, Robideaux, that is sort of the way I was looking at it, only what I did was go: Hanley slight edge over Fielder Lee slight edge over Renteria Beckett slight edge over Sheets I too think Beckett is overrated and dont believe he is any more an injury risk that Sheets is for this year. Of course, last year everyone here agreed that I should trade Ryan Howard for Lance Berkman and Dontrelle Willis, and I did, and regretted it. I just dont want to regret this one.
  22. My main reason is because they have become to sports reporting what MTV has become to music videos. Its just a lot of over produced fluff and very little news, and most of the people they hire just speak in cliches all the time. They really seem to mail it in these days.
  23. Who is your catcher? I would be inclined to say yes, as while I do not like Delgado as a back up, getting someone via trade to approach what Derek Lee will do is much, much easier than getting someone like Russell Martin to catch, which is usually a black hole in fantasy baseball. I'd pull the trigger and then look to get someone like Justin Morneau or Travis Hafner to fill in at 1b.
  24. Why only recommendations from the gamers? What about the gritty battlers? The fighters?
