  1. That's right RyDogg. They want to use that really old-school bank on Main St. (can't remember what kind of bank it is) to film the bank robbery scene. A buddy of mine owns the New Moon Cafe right across the street from the bank and he was telling me a bunch of stuff about it because they possibly have to use the New Moon's roof for "snipers". Sounds like it's gonna be pretty cool. yeah I was getting my haircut at the barber shop on Opera House Square last Friday and the barber told me that they might be building a facade around the park there to make it look more like an urban area. I believe they are also filming at the Opera House. Filming is set to take place April 14-16 in Oshkosh.
  2. It's OK. We don't love you any less just because you don't have a "great face."http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I am not an ANIMAL!!!
  3. My goodness, is there really a shortage of sites in the internet that discuss "women-related" topics that BF.net needs to find one and link to it? Wow.

  5. Eh, I've got better things to do than to stand around in the cold all day waiting for them to film 20 seconds of movie all for what amounts to minimum wage.
  6. The wonderful blog "Fire Joe Morgan" addressed the retirement of A's prospect Jeremy Brown, the fat-kid catcher who was made famous by Michael Lewis's book, Moneyball about Billy Beane and the Oakland A's front office. The blog entry is specifically about a column written by MSNBC sports writer Gary Peterson about how Brown's retirement signals the end of the Moneyball Era. It's as if the guy didnt even read the book. My favorite excerpt of the article and FJM response:
  7. Wish him luck, also tell him a little story about how when I saw this thread title I thought Cousin's Subs was going out of business...and I panicked.
  8. I think you trade him after 2010. Yeah, we get one less year from him, but I think we could reload faster and get more/better players that would be ready to help out right away from a trade, rather than two draft picks in the late 30s.
  9. I think we've known all along that Fielder would be the least likely to stay, especially with Boras as his agent. And that is fine. 1b has to be about the easiest position to get good production from anyway. I'd love to have him longer, but I will take 4 years, then let him go.
  10. He is what, 24 now? We have him this season and 3 more after that, making him 28 when he hits his new team. I doubt he is "elite" after the age of 32, so lets get his best years and move on. The mot we could have hoped for was getting one extra year through a buy out anyway.
  11. 1-2 are going to have to play at some point. better to have them meet in the quarters than not at all. Besides, Oshkosh West had lost 1 game all year at that point, so it wasnt like Vincent or Memorial would be going up against some sort of inferior competition. Besides, just because all these Milwaukee Schools are ranked highly doesnt mean anything. There are a lot of really good schools in the FVA and in other conferences as well.
  12. If anyone in the Milwaukee area (or Oshkosh) is interested in doing a LIVE Auction draft, I am trying to put together a serious Auction League, the league will then be run by Yahoo and I will place all players on your roster manually. 12 teams $25.00 to get in. I am looking at a last-weekend-in-March draft date, possibly at Buffalo Wild Wings near Mayfair, or depending on where people are coming from, The BWW in Oshkosh. Right now I have 6-7 owners and we want 12 teams total. If you are interested PM me.
  13. The Division 1 Bracket is interesting. This is the first time since 1978 that no Milwaukee City Conference schools have made it to state. Your Match ups will be. #2 Madison Memorial (21-2) v. Lake Geneva Badger (18-5) Oshkosh West (17-7) v. #10 Germantown (22-1) #4 Bay Port (21-4)v. Brookfield Central (18-5) Eau Claire North (18-4 NR) v. #3 Wauwatosa East (23-1) Im proud that Oshkosh West has made it back. This is their weakest team of the last 3 state teams, they have rather weak guard play but have really talented big men, and play great defense. Their 7 losses are probably a bit misleading, as the FVA is a very tough conference, probably second behind the Milwaukee City Conference. Their bigs and defense allow them to play with anyone, but they will have to get through Germantown and them most likely Madison Memorial and Tosa East to 3-peat, and that looks to be a tough row to hoe.
  14. My alma mater, Oshkosh West won tonight, they are headed back for the 3-peat.
  15. Im sorry to hear that you have to go there. Best of luck to you.
  16. I really like Bush, but I dont like this start. Did you know he had 15 quality starts last year? Pretty good.

  18. Best episode of the season tonight. They created some more questions, but answered enough in the meantime to leave me satisfied. The time travel aspect is pretty interesting, both the perceived difference in time between island and boat and Desmond's issues as well.
  19. Last I checked they didnt have some parts of Bay View on there, namely Bay View High School
  20. I think they are coming to Oshkosh as well to film in and around the Opera House here. I love movies, and watching them film would be interesting for an hour or so, but I couldnt care less about the actors.
  21. We cant trade Gross, not with the potential to have two Gabe's in the OF, a sort of "Gabe Grapler" back-up outfield.
  22. Corey Hart made the love list as well.
  23. A quick question. First, Scott Kazmir is having an MRI on his elbow after feeling discomfort while warming up today. It got me to thinking about arbitration and injuries. Suppose you enter your first arby year (4th year in league) and sign for 2 million dollars, then in spring training that year you blow out an knee or elbow and miss the entire year. You get paid your 2 million, and now you are entering your 2nd arby year (5th year in league). Can you expect a raise in salary if you were to go to arbitration?
