  1. Nelson Cruz needs a good nickname. If I call him Nelson, it could get confused with Brad Nelson and if I call him Cruz it gets confused with Enrique.
  2. You know I really wish I could watch Nelson's first start instead of Bears vs. Detroit.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  3. Thanks Mass, Your efforts are apreciated. It is going to be too long until the next link report. Keep up the exceptional work.
  4. I hate when blown calls cost games. I may be in the minority but I favor instant replay. Well the game could have been won by several other events if Lee is safe Bill Hall's double drives him in. Oh well.... Sour grapes I guess
  5. Just out of curiousity does that take park factors into account, so would Lou have the same projection if he had hit that way in High Desert?
  6. How soon before we pencil him in as our No. 5 starter for next year? Unless his last three starts are no hitters I am thinking there is no cahnce of this. However, there is a very good chance he is winning himself the role as the Vet in the pen next year.
  7. The city of Milwaukee and surrounding area should be ashamed of themselves....that is rediculous - 17,000. A joke. I am doubting there were that many there, but still I was actually impressed with that number. On a Packers game day that seems good to me with the numbers we have put up the last week and a half.
  8. With the resent terrible attandance last night and vs. San Diego I expect there will probably be only 25,000 there tonight. Maybe people gave up on the season when Sheets got hurt. Maybe they should take a quick glance at the Brewers record.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Anyway I do not remember Pettitte ever pitching this well in a Yanks uni. Especially seeing as he getting hit pretty hard back in May. Here is the lineup I would like to see: Brady cf Cirillo 3b Jenkins rf Lee lf Hardy ss Helms 1b Weeks 2b Miller C

  10. How many more ugly starts does Wes need to put up until we stop talking about him as a rotation candidate? One more? Three? Five? How many more starts does he have this season. He is the best option we have for the fourth starter right now. For the rest of the season we just have to hope Wes pitches like he did in the first couple of innings and does not hit that wall he hit tonight.
  11. just got back from the game. Even though I like a little room, the crowd tonight was disappointing. They may have sold 18,000 tickets but it was more like 14,000. Not many bad things to say about the team. I was alittle bit disappointed with the crowd reaction to JDLR. He hasnt thrown in a week, of course he is not going to throw strikes.Obviously, I am a bit biased when it comes to Jorge, but I still feel he is more deserving of consistent work especially since we arent in the race for anything. Good win though. Nice to have Wise back.
  12. We have to stay 15 and under to not lose a first rounder if by some chance we go after Millwood, right?
  13. Kane Davis learn to put some movement on your pitches. That is all I have to say.
  14. So this is what we are treated to. Helling will, if lucky, give up 4 or 5 runs a start. What does that say about our future or NOW, even. Well he has kept the ball in the park which is better than I thought he would do. He is on his way to a quality start so I cant complain too much. Except he pitched two good innings which would have been perfect to piggyback someone with potential say JDLRhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. Wow! Brian Giles has a career OBP of .412. I had no idea.. And he is a free agent. Do we need another corner outfielder. Ehh Jenks can play center. Who needs the defensehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif (Remember sarcasm does not translate well to a computer) .
  16. But wait, let me guess, Bill Hall is not part of teh Brewers future. Its really become quite pathetic. As harsh as this mybe to Billy he is not a future 3b man. He may become a Jose Hernandez-esqe shortstop with a few less k's but JJ projects to be a better player. Until Billy learns how to draw walks, he is going to have trouble convincing me he should be a starter or anything more than a platoon player. Right now, JJ projects to be better.
  17. Ill give Helling credit, he has looked sharp. Hitting his spots.
  18. No JJ or Prince, but on the plus side Branyan is in the lineup. www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/preview/MLB_20050901_SD@MIL
  19. I think Ned likes jorge from the pen. If he likes him so much out there, why doesnt he use him out there or at least give him a role? Right now it is use him whenever I feel like for whatever I feel like. If Ned Yost is really putting "vet" Rick Helling out there, it has to be because he gives us the best chance to win. I do not see how he comes up with that conclusion though. During his last start I had to shake my head after half of the at bats last game. I do not see it getting any better. Even if for some odd reason that I am unaware of he does give us the best chance to win, developing players right now is as important as winning. Well I maybe in the minority, the only reason that I care about .500 is so I can stop hearing about how important .500 is.
  20. I was thinking santos for his last ha-rah. I do not get why the Brewers are putting Helling back out on the mound. It didnt work. It wouldnt work. Just cut your losses and end the experiment now. What is telling the Brewers that this is going to work? Is it the 4.11 AAA era. The fact that he is a flyball pitcher. Perhaps, the fact that he has lost his velocity. Or maybe its the vast upside of a 34 year old not a soft tossing left hander. I see NOTHING that says he will have any success. I was in favor of removing him from the Nashville rotation. With that said I wish him the bast of luck. Having Victor Santos piggyback is a terrible idea. Both JDLR or Eveland would be much better or at least I would have more faith in them. However, Ned wont put them in until the game is already out of reach. Without a doubt the best option is still J DLR 4 innings, Helling 2. But J DLR hasnt pitched since last Saturday, get this guy some consistent work.
  21. Is it insane to think that Josh Habel could become a Matt Wise-esq fastball-changeup two pitch reliever?
  22. Not sure how the Brewers can be anything but disappointed in the year. On the bright side Yo has looked good. It is OK to not be down on a 19 year old hitting triple digits, but it is a long road to the bigs and it looks like Rogers wants to take his time. It is hard to imagine him in Brevard to start next year.
  23. DD is a top 25 pitcher in the NL. He is definitely a good three and a solid pitcher.
  24. Well they are playing in West Virginia and Rogers has walked 5 in 4 innings along with 4 earned runs.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  25. He was 86 at some all star game after his junoir year and most scouts backed off. However, the Brewers stayed with him and his velocity was up to 92 range so he fell to us in the second round is the story I remember. edit:The Brewers and Braves were among the few teams that didn't shy away from Tunstall High righthander Will Inman after he sat in the mid-80s at Virginia's Commonwealth Games last summer. But the state's career strikeouts leader bumped his velocity up to the low-90s as a senior and Milwaukee nabbed him in the third round. He'll now have to decide between pro ball and a college commitment to Auburn. Straight from the draft thread.
