  1. Hmm.. he is in my history class.
  2. I admit it. I have booed twice before. Capellan last season, and every time we play Gary Sheffield. But how the hell is it going to help anything to boo Turnbow during an exhibition game? To be honest, I was embarrassed listening to the radio. Not exactly what I wanted to hear after the Badgers "performance". Is this just unique to Milwaukee (and Philly)? Does Cleveland or Pittsburgh boo players they are fed up with too?
  3. Not to start a debate, but I dont follow spring all that closely; where is Branyan?
  4. ESPN Projected Fantasy Statistics So Prince, Weeks, Hardy, Braun, and Hart are all going to see a decline in OPS despites all being on the younger half of 27. What kind of projection system is ESPN using? http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/sheetsforcyyoung/Brewers1.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/sheetsforcyyoung/Brewers2.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/sheetsforcyyoung/Brewers3.jpg
  5. Well he is better than Counsell if Hall struggles against right handers again. A nice minor league pick-up.
  6. First Half in Review: Milwaukee Brewers I think Yost will be forced to use Gabe Gross a lot more now, which wouldn't be that bad if he was replacing Hall in the outfield, but he'll now be replacing Hart or Braun. I dont think there would be any problem defensively going with a Hart-Gross-Braun or Gross-Hart-Braun outfield two days a week.
  7. An 29 year old, 18-game winner and a former all-star at least deserves mention before Claudio Vargas.
  8. Not a shocking revelation, but we arnt very close to having an even average bullpen next year. Of our only 2 average or slightly above-average relievers one had a 6+ era in the second half last season and one is rattled when he hits a guy in the face with a change-up- and goes on the DL from a salad tongs.
  9. Hey, I was right: Coors Light is the only domestic light beer that is micro-filtered at near freezing temperatures, instead of heat-pasteurized. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=101929&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=848628&highlight=
  10. I believe they cold filter it, as Coors ceramic company invented the ceramic filters used in the process. Back in the days of the smokey and the bandit movie and Coors wasnt available everywhere, I believe that was somewhat the case.
  11. Someone actually said Andy Pettitte is the face of the Yankees. Steinbrener, Jeter, ARod, Rivera.......and the guy said Andy Pettitte.
  12. The have an Aluminum bottle now which I thought was very cool. It was probably just because I was easily amused drinking good beer out of an Aluminum bottle. My favorites are probably Bear Republic Big Bear Black Stout, Sprecher Black Bavarian, and New Glarus unplugged Enigma.
  13. To me, it tasted like soap and Mountain Dew. The New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat (which I think is new) is really good and Im usually a fan of more dark beers.
  14. 1 run on 5 walks and 3 hits in 6 innings and 4 Ks is a pretty lose definition of "hot." It must have been a down week.http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/grin.gif
  15. Jeremy Jeffress wasnt eligible? Because I am highly doubting there is a better fastball (or at least by measurables) in the Sally league.
  16. It was a county sheriff. He certainly wasnt the most cheery officer, but if I had to work on a Saturday night when the Brewers were playing (badly) I wouldnt be at my best either. Well I am sure there are some officers who feel it is there job to be on a constant power trip, the vast majority are just trying to do the job they are paid to do. Meh, just wasnt my day.
  17. Yeah, that is definitely part of the pickle, that it does me little good to spend money on a mechanic to tell me the gauge wasnt working for a defense, when I admit that I was going 10 over. If I go to court to see if a judge will mark it down at all, am I better off just leaving this whole stuff out as I will sound like some 21 year old Pinocchio, because I am sure they have heard all kinds of stories before?
  18. Now I know this somewhat sounds like I am making excuses but since there is a level of anonymity I guess I can explain my situation without it seeming too much like that. I was going on 94 east in Pewaukee approaching TT (Meadowbrook Rd.). I was somewhat frustrated with what was happening in the Brewer game (and earlier today), so admittedly I was going fast. 75 mph according to my gauge. Im somewhat of a local, so I know that police like to hide on-ramp of the bridge, but I had to get off on Highway T and had to get over two lanes so I wanted to pass the truck on my right. Sure enough there is an officer on the on-ramp clocking traffic. I was watching over there so I saw him as soon as he saw me. I hit slowed down, but it wasnt enough. So he approaches my vehicle, "Is there a reason you were going 80?" Now this caught me a little off guard. I was monitoring my speed closely. I was only going 75 on my gauge. So I questioned him alittle bit but I didnt want to try to kill any chance of a mark down I could get, so I wasnt confrontational about it. Now, my truck is getting up there in years. It is fairly rusted, from 1993, and logged alot of tough miles. It is possible that the gauge is a little off. It doesnt do any crazy bobbling around under 25 like some older gauges do but it is possible it could be off by 5 mph, I guess. I doesnt feel noticeably faster driving or than other cars but... So he comes back, gives me a ticket for 80, so I asked him if it was 80 or around 80. Now, he tells me he clocked me at 80 or above twice well I was going under the bridge. However I saw him as soon as he saw me. I hit the brakes as soon as I saw him. I saw the moment he pulled his gun back in the car. It was well before the bridge. It didnt seem like enough time to get two readings on me, but maybe it takes them multiple times before my reaction time (It was an almost instantaneous slow down because I was looking for him on the ramp) I am not overly upset about because I am not in a position that I am going to lose my license or in financial trouble. Is there any reason why he would say I was going 80 and not 75? Has anyone had any experience like this before? As a younger person is there anyway I can verify he was telling the truth?
  19. I could actually see Adam Dunn getting traded. The Reds could probably get more for him now if the option wouldnt be void. It would be an interesting scenario but I could see something like a NBA sign and trade: Adam Dunn agrees to an one year extension worth 14 million, and is traded. Dunn gets: 1 million more dollars and to play for a contenting team Reds get: More than they would a next seasons deadline The contending team gets: 60 home runs and a .370 OBP in a year and a half for 20 million and whatever it would take to get Dunn. I thought the Cubs werent in a position to pick up more salary after the fun spending spree this winter an d the potential sale of the team. I would be surprised if Murton and Gallagher were anywhere close to what it took to get it done.
  20. Well there goes the PCL, Southern League, and FSL championships. Im just so very angry right now.
  21. Yuck, a half season of a reliever fro Will Inman? C'mon Doug.
  22. I doubt that the Brewers have separate testing and suspensions from all of major league baseball for steroids. I am going to guess that this would be something else. Edit: nevermind, The article implys this is a Baseball suspension and not a Brewers one.
  23. I dont want to jump to conclusions with so little facts out, so I am going to say the only reaction that I know is true right now: That sucks. I was really thinking Salome was going to be on the big league roster in 09.
  24. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...ance_music Corey Hart I am pretty sure has switched to "These Are My People" by Rodney Atkins or at least it was yesterday.
